History is crucial to understanding the future, which contains the good, the bad, and the ugly. There are many young people who don’t remember 9/11 or don’t know anything about it. They need to know what took place because the next 9/11, and there will be another one, could well involve nuclear weapons. The proliferation of nuclear technology, combined with bad actors on the international stage — namely North Korea and Iran — make for an extremely serious situation. Our enemies never sleep and they have only acquired more advanced weaponry. Those who want to deal with this situation effectively are called interventionist or accused of wanting war. We believe in prudence not in radical interventionism. You have to have policies, plans and ideas ready for all kinds of contingencies. The Code Pink Republicans who accuse conservatives of this, pretend to support military yet they don’t. The Iranians and North Koreans lied their way to nuclear technology and must be stopped. We should pour significant sums into R&D because we have enormous threats from these rogue countries. After that, President Trump could teach the Republicans a lesson by leading and by forcing Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan to follow him. Making deals with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi is not the answer nor is it a turning point in a positive direction. Rather than remaking the party in his own image, like Ronald Reagan did, Trump cuts deals with progressives. We are not funding the wall, repealing Obamacare, or reforming tax laws, and Schumer and Pelosi are two of the reasons why we are not. Later, half the state of Florida does not have electricity. Hurricane Irma was a horrendous hurricane and the climate change issue is an enormous fraud. Irma was not the worst hurricane to hit Florida. The problem is that desperate people are looking for an answer. Man can’t do a thing about the climate, the hurricanes, earthquakes and tornados. If we destroyed ever car and truck on the face of earth or eliminated humanity, there would still be horrific storms.

President Trump is angry at RINOs in Congress and so he has figured out a way to get back at them - lurch left and work with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi on DACA and a deal on the debt ceiling. What is lacking here is leadership. Trump needs to take charge yet hasn’t done that. When Trump picks up Nixonian habits it is not going to benefit him anymore than it benefited Richard Nixon. None of that matters, in the end Democrats want to take over the House and impeach Trump. Trump’s frustration in no way is a license to sell out the American people and renege on major campaign promises. After that, many Republicans like Mitch McConnell didn’t get elected on massive infrastructure spending or Herbert Hoover trade policy but were elected because of the Tea Party. There are people trying to reject their own ideologies on top of the movement that got them there. The Republican Party leadership is progressive; Paul Ryan has shifted and McConnell has always been a progressive. Here and there these Republian progressives have a conservative or free market idea, but don’t really believe in conservatism. We have got to fight to get rid of these people in D.C. Later, hurricane Irma is flipping and flopping. People were so sure that it was going to focus on the east coast of Florida and now it may be lurching to the central and west coast.

Ben Shapiro, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Wire, fills in for Mark. We are all rooting for President Trump to do the right thing, but he has to do the right thing. Hitting Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell should not cause Trump to elevate Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi by negotiating to raise the debt ceiling. Not only did Trump undercut leaders of his own party, but it is now coming out that Trump wants to get rid of the debt ceiling entirely. Money is going to Harvey relief yet, there are no accompanying cuts to government. Article 1 of the Constitution gives Congress the power of the purse and Trump is working with Democrats to get rid of it. Congress is supposed to make sure that the debt doesn’t get out of hand. You can’t just raise the debt ceiling without having a plan to cut spending. We have gotten some really good things from Trump, but the last 48 hours have been scary for conservatives. Also, Trump is acting like a Democrat when it comes to DACA, speaking in support of the Democrat senator from Nebraska and working with Schumer and Pelosi. After that, a three judge panel in San Francisco on the 9th Circuit Court has ruled that it is not enough to allow parents and in-laws of immigrants into the U.S. We also have to allow in their grandparents and cousins. A lot of people have relatives in countries that are dangerous. The left has a preferred immigration policy which is that everybody gets in. Later, Betsy DeVos is bringing Title IX to an end which allowed colleges to set up tribunals for rape cases. These tribunals denied the accused due process. According to them, the accused are guilty until proven innocent. With the left you have to condemn people without evidence or you side with criminality.

The reporting on Hurricane Irma is very frustrating. We can’t tell by these forecasts where this hurricane will go, which is creating a lot of panic. It is enormously annoying to hear politicians getting in front of the cameras telling us what to fear and what to do. It’s also clear from coverage of Irma that meteorologists follow an imprecise science. If they don’t know where a hurricane is going to hit in three days, how can people predict climate change 10-20 years down the road? Also, President Trump had defied conservatives and Republicans by cutting a stop-gap debt limit and budget deal with Democrat leadership. Trump not only turned his back on the people who elected him, but also gave away his biggest bargaining chips for a wall on the southern border. Now the president who said he would shut down the government in order to get the wall completely backtracked. Not only is he not shutting down the government, but the debt is completely out of control and they’re doing absolutely nothing about it but adding to it. He’s going to increase the debt limit without getting anything for it. All the leverage for a border wall has been thrown out the window. After that, what Barack Obama did with DACA was unconstitutional then and is still today. Trump campaigned on rescinding this and he is throwing his promise out the window. DACA puts people on the way to legalization and citizenship and of course they will vote Democrat. This is why the Democrats support this policy. To add, Trump is not going to deport DACA recipients, but they shouldn’t receive benefits. American citizens are not treated this way, because they do not get second, third or fourth chances when it comes to the law. The issue here is the Constitution, but nobody seems to care about it.

Ben Ferguson of WREC in Memphis, Tennessee fills in for Mark. Barack Obama acknowledged that he had no legal authority to ignore federal law, but he still signed the DACA executive order. The 2012 election was coming up so Obama authorized an unconstitutional law, which was meant to be temporary. People like Mark Zuckerberg need to know there are consequences when you break the law. President Trump and AG Jeff Sessions had no choice but to respond, because many responsible state attorneys general were going to sue over DACA. It is not the President’s job to make laws when Congress doesn’t make them. The DACA program, whether you love or hate it, needs to be acted upon by Congress. Trump deserves credit for laying out a 6 month period for Congress to do their job, which is compassionate. After that, Hillary Clinton is now blaming Bernie Sanders for her loss. She is going to make seven figures off her book while claiming life is not fair. In addition, North Korea is threatening to annihilate America. This is why you don’t let crazy people acquire nuclear weapons. With people like Kim Jong-un, actions speak louder than words. We punted to the Chinese after we punted to the UN, but this has not worked. Also, the media should hold accountable people who got us here. For about 10 years, we have let Kim Jong-un do whatever he wants.

We bring you the best of Mark Levin this Labor Day! Mitch McConnell is deceiving Americans when he says that if we don’t the raise debt ceiling the government will default. This is out of control propaganda as it falls under the 14th Amendment in the Constitution to pay the principle and the interest of the debt, not these government programs. There are billions of dollars to pay the debt service. Republicans and Democrats just want to raise the debt ceiling to fund Obamacare and continue to increase spending. Later, after North Korea fired a missile over Japan, it’s now time for serious action against them and the key to do that is breaking China’s back financially by breaking its banks. How long can Japan, South Korea, and America live with this nuclear threat hanging over us and them? Diplomatic niceties and strategic patience didn’t work with North Korea back in 1994, and it doesn’t seem to be working now. It’s time to try something new. Finally, we are now hearing stories that because of Hurricane Harvey we can’t fight the debt ceiling or government spending and borrowing. The left uses every excuse to expand government. The irony is that they believe that government managed by some “masterminds” is necessary because humans cant care for themselves; yet somehow they are so perfect they can decide how we can care for ourselves. No matter what happens the scenario is always the same – more government and less liberty. No amount of government meddling or control can prevent natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey, but it can certainly create man-made disasters and hell like in Venezuela. If our federal government spending isn’t reigned in, it will soon become uncontrollable and quickly become a disaster on an even larger scale than the natural ones witnessed.

Congress, politicians and the media are damaging this Republic, especially when it comes to DACA. DACA is the latest issue regarding illegal immigration. Who made this country the way it is today? It was not the illegal immigrant, but the American citizen. The purpose of immigration is for the US citizen to decide how many people get to come here and who gets to come here. The left tries to turn everything into race and hate, but their viewpoint is irrelevant. In addition, Ronald Reagan’s amnesty was supposed to be the last amnesty, but since Reagan there have been multiple amnesties. We have had this debate going on for 30 years. Republicans won’t get rid of DACA because they are afraid of the columns in the media. President Trump has been buckling from day one on this issue and Republicans are urging him not to rescind DACA. Also, to DACA’s supporters, it is compassionate to trash the American people and violate the Constitution. Supporters of illegal immigration try to portray illegals as noble and virtuous while calling Americans lazy. The government has had 35 years to secure the border, yet they will not do it. Republicans and Democrats won’t even commit to secure the border. After that, in 2016, the FBI and DHS warned of more ANTIFA attacks, yet the Obama administration said nothing. Confidential documents from these two organizations call them domestic terrorists. ANTIFA has become increasingly dangerous yet CNN and the media downplay them. Finally, Raheem Kassam calls in to talk about his new book, No Go Zones: How Sharia Law is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You.

The situation with North Korea is bad but it was even worse when the Soviet Union was still in existence. The Soviet Union had hundreds of nuclear missiles aimed at the US and in their heyday and were far more powerful than China and North Korea are today. Yet today our politicians and media shake and don’t know what to do. There is a way to confront North Korea and its master China. All we need to do is open the Ronald Reagan play book and use the same techniques he did to defeat the Soviet Union on China and North Korea. Either we take this threat from North Korea and China seriously or we don’t. If we are the country that has the most powerful tools on the face of the earth but are unwilling to use them then we are not the most powerful country on the face of the earth. After that, Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham, say newly revealed transcripts prove that James Comey, in his former role as FBI director, may have preemptively cleared Hillary Clinton from her mishandling of classified information before any investigation ever took place. The more we learn about Jim Comey, the more we learn what a despicable FBI director this man was. Just because the praetorian-guard media choose to be ignorant about this, doesn't mean we have to be. Later, Greg Abbott is a remarkable man, and has taken on the EPA, is fiscally responsible, has a great positon on Article V and illegal immigration. Abbott is America’s Governor and is exceptional.

If our federal government spending isn’t reigned in, it will soon become uncontrollable and quickly become a disaster on an even larger scale than the natural ones witnessed. Also, what do Aristotle, Archimedes, Galileo, Tesla, Faraday, Newton, Einstein and Edison have in common? Not one of them wrote about manmade climate change. Why is that? Because climate change is not about science, evidence, knowledge or facts. It’s about an ideology, which was imported into America from Europe. Later, is the media still talking about Melania Trump’s shoes? No matter what Michelle Obama wore, no matter how much she spent, they would say she looked marvelous. Finally, President Trump gave an excellent speech on tax reform but he shouldn’t play Marxist-lite talking about the wealthy, it doesn’t help us. He needs to make a principled case for wealth creation. He reminded the audience of Reagan’s tax cut and how beneficial it was to the U.S economy.

Joe Bastardi, chief meteorologist at Weather Bell, calls in to give an update on Hurricane Harvey. The worst of the rain in Houston, TX is over but it’s getting very serious in Galveston, TX with the wind blowing the bay into the city. We don’t really know how many people died yet until flood waters recede but one of those who died was Sgt. Steve Perez who was trying to report to duty in the middle of the storm. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo spoke about how the people pulled together to help find him and to help all the others who were effected. This is what America is all about - not the people fighting in Charlottesville, VA. Also, if capitalism was taught in our public schools it could change the direction of this country. Capitalism is revolutionary, Communism and socialism are not. It’s just another form of autocracy of centralized government control over the individual. Capitalism is anti-fascism, anti-communism, anti-anarchy, anti-authoritarianism. It’s truly the only humane and compassionate economic system that exists. Until we somehow level the playing field when it comes to education, we will always be back peddling. In addition, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has issued subpoenas to Paul Manafort’s former lawyer and to his current spokesman. If Mueller had the goods on Manafort none of this would be necessary. This is an effort to try and squeeze Manafort and try and get him to admit anything, which is very unusual. Finally, Craig Shirley calls in to discuss his authorized biography, Citizen Newt: The Making of a Reagan Conservative.

After North Korea fired a missile over Japan, it’s now time for serious action against them and the key to do that is breaking China’s back financially by breaking its banks. How long can Japan, South Korea, and America live with this nuclear threat hanging over us and them? Diplomatic niceties and strategic patience didn’t work with North Korea back in 1994, and it doesn’t seem to be working now. It’s time to try something new. In addition, Sen. Ted Cruz calls in from Houston to give a firsthand report of the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. The first responders and ordinary citizens have been phenomenal and it’s encouraging to see Texans coming together to help each other. Later, no organization in America in modern times has conducted more violence or harmed more people than ANTIFA. They come dressed in their outfits, black scarves and face masks to assault people who disagree with their agenda. ANTIFA is the paramilitary militia wing of the Democrat Party. This can be said because the Democrats are silent about them. Also, Sherriff Joe Arpaio was pardoned by President Trump and National Review should be reminded that this was not the crime of a century. The court denied Arpaio a trail because the offense was a misdemeanor. The judge had nothing but contempt for this gentleman. If federal courts are going to defy Constitution, why should there edicts be complied with? The left is not upset with the courts violating the Constitution, yet is upset over Arpaio. Finally, where are all the conservatives surrounding Trump? Trump does himself a disservice when his diversity of opinion is from a liberal Democrat from Manhattan and a liberal Democrat from Queens. Folks like Gary Cohn, are liberals and are not doing him any service.

Dan Bongino, Contributing Editor at Conservative Review fills in for Mark. The left wing fringe kooks are winning the culture war but losing so badly where it counts — politics and elections. The leftist manufactured rage, like the extreme animosity toward statues that most people never knew existed just a month ago, works to move culture, but at the end of the day, leftists have zero substance or solutions. They sell you anger, and rage. That’s all they have! They can’t run honestly on what they stand for, because what they stand for is a bevy of loser positions. At least conservatives and libertarians stand for something, the left is just standing for outrage. We can’t continue as a Constitutional Republic as long as we have a fringe element that believes America is the problem. In addition, Hurricane Harvey is making landfall in Texas and is going to be a destructive storm. Harvey has been upgraded to a Category 4 as of Friday night and is closing in on Corpus Christi. If your local authorities tell you to evacuate, get out. Later, Colin Kaepernick doesn’t deserve respect. The guy wore socks that depicted police as pigs and a Castro T-shirt. He and those kneeling down, should get up and do something to help the community rather than disrespect the national anthem and the flag. Finally, President Trump pardoned Sheriff Joe Arpaio and we can expect the left to lose their minds over this.

Also, everyone is concerned that we are going to default if there is a government shutdown, but that is not true. Over 80% of the government which is considered essential keeps running. There have been many government shutdowns and nothing horrific ever occurred during them. We are not talking about essentials but non-essential operations. Later, Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review calls to talk about Voter ID laws. The idea that people can’t get access to photo ID’s in this country is false as they are widespread. Leftwing Democrat judges are pressing stereotypes when they reject these laws. This is a very serious problem because the judges are codifying this into the Civil Rights Act. Finally, if you understand progressivism, you will know that it is always attacking our institutions. This anti-history movement dressed up as a social movement is just another attack on them. Why don’t journalists like Nicholas Kristof at the New York Times cover this? Kristof works for a newspaper that tried to cover up the Holocaust in the middle of World War II. Conservatives condemn neo-Nazis and KKK, but Kristof does not condemn the violence of BLM and ANTIFA. What Kristof and the left are trying to pin on Trump with regards to racism is ridiculous. Kristof is not a journalist, but is engaging in character assassination.

President Trump in Phoenix was fantastic and gave a great speech. The real dishonest people are in the fake media. You would think the media wants to make the country great again but they don’t. They are the source of the division in this country, rather than tell the truth they prefer ratings and clicks. If the only thing that Trump does is expose the media he will have been a successful president. The media try to present themselves as a nonpartisan outlet but that is not true. Now they are out of the closet and we know the truth about them. It is time in this country that we had a national discussion about the behavior, lies, and partisanship of the media. The media hate Trump because he used to be one of them, but he rejected all of that. This media includes Don Lemon, Joe Scarborough, George Stephanopoulos, Ana Navarro and others. Joe Scarborough befriended Trump and his family and supported him early on in the campaign. Now the Morning Joe is an Independent and no longer a Republican. Now he just attacks Trump. According to Scarborough, Trump supporters all have the problems but he and Mika Brzezinski are just fine. After that, conservative are not destroying statues but the left is. The Democrat Party is trying to whitewash its history when it comes to destroying Confederate statues. You don’t start sand blasting history because you don’t agree with it. For the most part it should all stay. Later, Mark endorses Kelli Ward for U.S. Senate in Arizona against Jeff Flake. The difference between Flake and Ward is that Ward stands for something and has principles. Ward will be a conservative vote in the Senate and will not vote in Mitch McConnell as the Republican Senate leader. What is more offensive, Ward talking about chemtrails or McConnell ruining the debt ceiling?

 8/22/17-Mark Levin Audio Rewind | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 6892

President Trump’s Afghanistan speech was strong and solid and utterly different from any that Barack Obama gave or that the John McCain would give. Trump is trying to reverse what Obama, Democrats and Republicans did to our military. He is taking advice from real generals and not pretend generals who are yes men. Trump is not duped by the McCain wing of the Republican Party, but is engaged and trying to make the right decision. It is false to say that Trump is only as smart as his advisors. After that, former Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, calls in to discuss Afghanistan. If Afghanistan were to return to pre-9/11 terror levels we would have trouble. We are not going to engage in nation building; our mission there is to protect us and if we don’t do it no one else will. Finally, Mitch McConnell is doubting whether Trump can save his presidency. McConnell has been threatening conservatives and the Trump agenda from day one. McConnell is out there like a mob boss trying to knock off any conservative that wants to defeat an incumbent Republican. It is time for McConnell to resign if he can’t be a positive force for change. He is out of the closet in trying to handicap this presidency.
