Summary: Joe Bastardi, chief meteorologist at Weather Bell, calls in to give an update on Hurricane Harvey. The worst of the rain in Houston, TX is over but it’s getting very serious in Galveston, TX with the wind blowing the bay into the city. We don’t really know how many people died yet until flood waters recede but one of those who died was Sgt. Steve Perez who was trying to report to duty in the middle of the storm. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo spoke about how the people pulled together to help find him and to help all the others who were effected. This is what America is all about - not the people fighting in Charlottesville, VA. Also, if capitalism was taught in our public schools it could change the direction of this country. Capitalism is revolutionary, Communism and socialism are not. It’s just another form of autocracy of centralized government control over the individual. Capitalism is anti-fascism, anti-communism, anti-anarchy, anti-authoritarianism. It’s truly the only humane and compassionate economic system that exists. Until we somehow level the playing field when it comes to education, we will always be back peddling. In addition, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has issued subpoenas to Paul Manafort’s former lawyer and to his current spokesman. If Mueller had the goods on Manafort none of this would be necessary. This is an effort to try and squeeze Manafort and try and get him to admit anything, which is very unusual. Finally, Craig Shirley calls in to discuss his authorized biography, Citizen Newt: The Making of a Reagan Conservative.
