In this week's free weight loss podcast from The JoLynn Braley Show we're going to check out why you feel depressed when you stop eating junk. But first, I want to share an important point that I forgot to mention in during the show. It's another reason why you feel depressed when you stop eating junk. Read on for more... Why You Feel Depressed When You Stop Eating Junk In episode number 275 of my free weight loss podcast I did cover several reasons why you feel depressed when you stop eating junk but one point that I failed to mention is very important. Here it is: When you're caught in the ongoing cycle of emotional eating, binge eating, dieting, self-sabotage, yo-yo dieting, and on top of this when food is your crutch, it's your (unhealthy) coping mechanism in life, then when you take that food away and replace it with only healthy, high-octane fuel for your body, then all of those emotions you'd been trying to stuff down with food come roaring back to the surface. Those emotions don't go away just because you tried to eat them away, avoid them with food, or stuff them down with a binge. Instead they remain within, just waiting to pop out if only you will let them. When you stop eating junk and you stop stuffing with food then those uncomfortable emotions can come up to the surface. This is another reason why you feel depressed when you stop eating junk. Make sense?   Here's why: your mindset is 92.8% of what is causing your food and weight struggles. If you don't change your mindset you will forever struggle with food and your weight. The mind leads the body, this is just how it is. No one can change this or "make this up" because without a mind, your body won't move. Your mind is the driver of your body; without a driver, your body won't do anything. Does this make sense? It's just like the fact that you must drive your car to get it to move. Otherwise your car just sits there in your driveway, correct? What's great about the fact that your mindset is 92.8% of the challenge to achieving permanent weight loss is that you are the only one who thinks your thoughts. Learn how to change your mindset, transform your current mindset into a weight loss mindset, and then you won't struggle to lose weight and keep it off! Then you won't complain of restrictive eating, you won't be struggling with  binge eating, or emotional eating, and yo-yo dieting. You see, diet and exercise information doesn't mean anything, unless you do it. Consistent action is critical as well, there is no "once and done" when it comes to healthy living. Getting Real is a fantastic first step and it's necessary in order to get New Results, results of struggle-free weight loss. One does need to have a proven step-by-step daily system to follow to break free of the mindset that holds you in your comfort zone but first you would need to be willing to get completely honest with yourself to take stock of where you're at vs where you really want to be. Achieving permanent weight loss requires healing the root of your disordered eating. But first, I share how to fix the REAL Problem that has made your body fat. "The power of words in weight loss" - what the heck does this mean? Well it's pretty simple: the words you speak, the words you think, and the words you repeat will either hold you back forever from achieving permanent weight loss, or the words you think, speak, and repeat can set you free. It's completely up to you! The thing is though, is if you're struggling with a fat mindset (that's a mindset filled with resistance and negativity about the topic of your body, your weight, your binge eating and out-of-control urges to eat) then you've gotta become willing to raise your awareness of what you're saying and what you're thinking before you'll ever be able to change it. All change is preceded by awareness.Click To Tweet Before you can change your weight loss results, before you can end your binge eating, before you can stop emotional eating, before you can get weight loss results that last, you must become aware of your Inner Self and then heal your Inner Self. You'll want to become aware of whatever it is that's going on within you that drives your unhealthy behaviors. What are the specific words, thought patterns, and mantras you run in your mind daily? Are your beliefs supporting you in struggle-free weight loss that lasts, or are your beliefs driving your behind-the-blinds binge eating that you don't want anyone to know about? If you raise your awareness and find that your ongoing patterns of thought and speech are holding you back and keeping your body fat then those are patterns of thought and speech that you'll want to change. Otherwise you won't stop binge eating, you won't end your emotional eating, and you won't be able to lose weight and keep it off. But you want to end those struggles, right? If you do then you'll need to start with your Inner Self. Change your mind to change your eating behaviors, which will make it easy to lose weight and keep it off. All of this starts with a thought, which is a word, which leads us to the power of words in weight loss! The Power of Words in Weight Loss Words have power and you are the only one who can change the words you speak and the thoughts you think. No one else can change what you think, what you say, and the words you repeatedly say to yourself and to others. If you're serious about ending your food and weight struggles once and for all you'll have to replace the negative, unhealthy, overweight thought patterns and speech patterns you're in the habit of now. Achieving permanent weight loss (which requires healing the root of your disordered eating) hinges on healing what is 92.8% of the problem, and that problem is all about your inner world.

 Emotional Eating: Why No Food Diet Has Ever Helped You Stop Emotional Eating | Heal Emotional Eating Lose Weight Keep It Off! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:54

If you're struggling to lose weight then you're more than likely doing what the majority of folks who are struggling with emotional eating and overweight are doing: they keep looking for food tips and diet tricks that are supposed to make weight loss work for you. The problem with this route is that there's a reason why no food diet has ever cured your emotional eating. But why does this matter? Here's why: because if you don't cure your emotional eating you aren't able to DO the healthy diet tips you've collected and stick with them long term. Why? Because the real problem hasn't been fixed. The real problem is not the food you're eating. The food you're eating is the tool you use to engage in your emotional eating habits. Sure, the type of food and quantity of food will have to change in order for you to achieve permanent weight loss. But making those changes before you've fixed The Real Problem is like hooking up a dog sled in front of the dog sled team. How can the dog sled team pull the sled when the sled is in front of them?? Putting the sled in front of the dogs only blocks the dog sled team from moving forward. They can't even run when the sled is in front of them and then definitely can't pull the sled. Well that's exactly the same thing you're doing by collecting endless food diet and exercise tips to try to fix your overweight problem when you haven't fixed the reason your body became overweight in the first place. If you don't cure your emotional eating then you're putting your own sled in front of you. How will you ever get to the result of permanent weight loss like that? You won't. Plain and simple. The only way TO get the results of permanent weight loss (which means you lose weight and keep it off the rest of your life) is by curing your emotional eating now. Heal the root of your emotional eating and then you'll be able to DO the healthy diet tips and release the fat and keep it off. THEN you'll have your healthy sled behind you, which is where it needs to be. You won't be blocking yourself anymore from losing the fat and keeping it off.
