Let's Talk Fast show

Let's Talk Fast

Summary: Having run a successful Exercise Physiology clinic for over 12 years, I have seen countless fads and trends come along in this time. After a call from my mother in 2015 pleading to help my sister, her health and her bulging waistline, I set out to find a method that would finally see her take control of her health and weight. The last 3-4 years has been a journey into the world of Fasting and Fat Loss which has not only seen my sister finally see progress, but also allowed me to come across a number of amazing people and life changing stories. I want this podcast to be a place where I can share what I have learnt over this time as a way to help introduce you into fasting and see you take control of your Health, Happiness and Weight. I will also aim to have a number of guests on this show, both professionals and people who have lost weight and changed their life through Fasting as a way to expand the conversation and learn from the best in the industry and ordinary people who have found great success through the Fasting Life. I hope you enjoy the content and it helps to spark questions and see you finally take control of your Weight once and for all to see you live a Happy, Healthy and LONG Life.

From Struggles to Success with Personal Trainer Drew Westfield | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:38:05

On this week's episode of the Let's Talk Fast podcast, I had the opportunity to speak with personal trainer and business owner of Gript gym, Drew Westfield. Drew opens up about the struggles he has gone through over the years from battling depression over the death of his brother and the physical health struggles he has gone through from working a job that bought him no joy or passion to his life. We talk at length about his journey into the health and fitness world and what fitness truly means to him and WHY he created Gript and WHY he did everything he could to open up an open air gym on the top of a car park in Melbourne during the midst of one of the worlds longest and most strict lock downs. Drew is a fascinating and driven human being and I had a great time chatting to him and I hope by bringing you his story and the story of Gript, that it may help you take the action required to take control of your life and come through whatever struggles you may be going through to living your BEST life.  Talking Eating Disorders, Body Image and Self-Love with Nicole Renard | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:43:26

Nicole Renard grew up as a competitive dancer with the hopes to become a Broadway star and spent most of her childhood years and life in this world, training 10-20 hours a week and becoming immersed in a world that would judge her on the way she looked and how she performed. Her older sister was also a dancer and was someone that Nicole looked up to and always wanted to emulate. Nicole's sister then shared with the family that she had been dealing with an eating disorder and this rocked Nicole's world and in the years that followed, Nicole found herself feeling alone and a need to hide her own struggles with body image, self-love and a want to always be "perfect" After a year living in New Zealand and having to fit in with a bunch of new people that had no idea who she was and make friends with these people, she realised that acceptance from these people came about because of the person she was, not for what she had done or achieved in her life. This stirred a passion in Nicole to share her story with the world and open up with her struggles with body image, eating disorders and feelings of worth and today she is an energetic and fun human being who uses her platform to spread a message of hope, positivity and self-love and I really hope you enjoy this week's podcast and the gold nuggets you will find within our chat.  How To Navigate Mental Health Struggles In An Ever Increasing Stressful World with Dr Kieran Kennedy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:13

On this week's episode of the Let's Talk Fast podcast, I am very lucky to be able to speak with Dr Kieran Kennedy who is a doctor, mental health advocate, writer and speaker who is passionate about health, fitness and breaking down the barriers to our overall wellbeing. As a self-proclaimed gym nut as well as a doctor working in psychiatry, Kieran sees first-hand the importance in advocating for mental health along with physical health to combine a well-balanced approach to health for both the physical and mental space of our lives. Mental health struggles have always been a cause for worldwide illness, however in the past few years, and especially in the past 12 months with COVID, mental health has become one of the leading causes to chronic health issues. In this episode Kieran talks in detail about the current state of affairs and how COVID has played a large role in the rise of people suffering from anxiety, depression and other mental health related issues and what he believes are the KEY actions you can take to help yourself navigate through these challenging times to see you live your best life. Kieran is a WEALTH of knowledge and is part of a growing move from the younger medical fraternity, who place a focus on working towards a health solution as a collaborative effort rather than a doctor centered approach.  Pulling Back The Curtain on The Real No Breakfast Guy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:14:24

Episode 100 is HERE!!! I speak to a long time client, friend, business mentor and person who likely knows me better than I know myself and what I thought was going to be a conversation about the world we know and how it has changed since I had Patrick on my very FIRST podcast in June of 2017, turned into Patrick turning it into an interview on me! Patrick has never shied away from asking me the hard questions that have forced me to think about life, love, business and my vision of the world around me and this podcast is no exception. I was in the hot seat on many occasions and I did my very best to be as open, honest and raw as I possibly could be, to give you the most open and deep look into WHO I truly am and whats behind the "persona" that I show to the world every day on my Instagram stories.  5 Traits That The Most Successful People Have | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:32:12

I wrote an email to my email list last week and it had the title, "Success Leaves Clues" and it was one of the most positively responded to emails that I have written and so I thought, why not give a little more context and detail to that email by creating a podcast around the same topic. I have been helping people change their habits, improve their health and live better lives for over 15 years and while I certainly don't have all of the answers, I have noticed a common theme amongst the clients that achieve their goals compared to those who don't. I have spent in excess of 20,000 hours face to face with clients (both online and in person at my clinic) and I would like to share with you the top 5 traits or actions that my most successful clients exhibit. Success comes in many forms and can range from finding balance in life to spend more time with family to running an internationally successful company to losing weight or focusing on running a marathon. Those clients I have seen find most success and have achieved their goals, don't always have all 5 traits and I am not suggesting that if you tick off all 5 of these that it is a recipe for success. HOWEVER, success leaves clues and if you have been struggling to find success on your fat loss journey, within your career or life in general and can't put a yes next to some or all of the points I mention in this podcast, then it might be time to take a look at what you are doing on a day to day basis and maybe look to make a change. I hope you enjoy this weeks podcast and as always I hope it brings value to you and your life. I hope you enjoy the episode and if you did and haven't already, please go and give the podcast a quick review and 5 star rating as it would mean the world to me and then DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE to make sure you never miss an episode!!!  How To Reverse Type 2 Diabetes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:50

Diabetes is a term that gets thrown around these days and many people are unaware that there are two type of Diabetes and that they are both VERY different. In this weeks podcast, my aim is to not only shed light on what Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are, how they differ from each other and how an individual with either of them can manage them best, but to also give a clear understanding on just how big of a problem Type 2 Diabetes is in our society today. Type 2 Diabetes has become a health problem on a world wide epidemic level and this has become even more evident with COVID disproportionately affecting those with Type 2 Diabetes. The cost to the health care system, the person with Type 2 Diabetes and their family is HUGE and with the confusion around how to manage it and a lot of doctors having no idea what to do or are incentivised to just give medications, the problem continues to get worse. Type 2 Diabetes is (in most part) a lifestyle condition and so it makes sense that a lifestyle intervention is what will help reverse it and cure it... and YES, you CAN reverse it!!! In this podcast I will share with you the way in which I have helped hundreds of people over my 15 year career, reverse their Type 2 Diabetes, get off all medications and do it while enjoying the foods they love, INCLUDING CARBS!! I hope you enjoy this weeks episode and it helps to bring you value on the journey you are on and should you have Type 2 Diabetes, I hope it helps you take a meanigful step forwards in seeing you reverse this condition. If you did like the episode, it would mean the world to me if you could leave a positive comment and 5 star review as it goes a LONG way to help me share my podcast to more people around the world.
