1070 The Fan Program Director and writer Greg Rakestraw hosted for Dan Dakich today on this Memorial Day.  Coach Chris Lemonis of the Indiana Hoosiers baseball team talked with GR about the boys heading to the NCAA Championship Tournament.  (7:49 mark) Former driver and WISH-TV racing analyst Derek Daly called in to talk about his son Connor Daly's day on the track, the awful crash with Jay Howard and Scott Dixon plus he broke down how Takuma Sato was able to win his first Indy 500. (23;40 mark)  Scott Goodyear of ESPN/ABC Indycar coverage and telecast chatted about Takuma's win yesterday and why yesterday's race was exciting.  (38:28 mark) Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato of Andretti Autosport dropped by to discuss winning yesterday, how much media he has done so far and just how great that milke tasted yesterday.

Wow!  What a show this afternoon live from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Carb Day 2017!  Today's Dan Dakich Show featured the Barstool Big Cat at PFT Commentor from Pardon My Take of Barstool Sports, Pat McAfee of Barstool Heartland, IU great Landon Turner, Mark Titus of The Ringer, Masters/US Open winner and sponsor of Ed Carpenter Racing Fuzzy Zoeller, Tricia Whitaker of CBS 4 Sports and IndyCar driver Jay Howard, the No. 77 Team One Cure car in partnership with the Tony Stewart Foundation and under the banner of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.  So much happened on the show today, it's impossible to give it a accurate description.  All I can tell you is, I suggest you give it a listen over this Memorial Day weekend as we remember those who died serving this amazing country.  Have a great weekend and thanks for listening!  -Dan Dakich and Kyle Knezevich

(7:50 mark) Driver of the #5 Honda for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe stopped by the show with Dan Dakich to discuss beating Pat McAfee in a beer chugging contest last night on Barstool Heartland, the state of mind two seasons after his horrific wreck plus his thoughts on Sunday's 101st Indy 500.

1070 The Fan Program Director Greg Rakestraw hosted for Dan Dakich this afternoon had a couple 500 drivers along with some Stanley Cup chat as the Indianapolis 500 is this weekend and the Nashville Predators have advance to the Cup Finals.  Allen Bestwick who is the Anchor for the Indianapolis 500 on ABC and joined GR to discuss the race and who the top drivers are to win the race.  (11:40 mark) Buddy Lazier who is approaching his 20th Indy 500 commented to GR about being in the race that many years, difference from his first and what to expect on Sunday.  (22:00 mark)  Pete Weber who is the PxP Sportscaster for the Nashville Predators and also is a Notre Dame grad discussed the run for Nashville and thoughts on the upcoming Cup Final series.  (31:40 mark)  Last but not least, one of our favorites and local driver Ed Carpenter of Ed Carpenter Racing called into the DD Show with GR about where he is starting in the race, how the car is running and what he is looking forward to at the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500.

Dan opened the show this afternoon talking about the Western Conference Finals and the power of the Golden State Warriors.  (17:41 mark) Former Michigan baller Derrick Walton Jr. dropped by The Dan Dakich Show to talk about his time at UM, making that big run this last season and how his workout with the Pacers went today.  Dan also gave some advice on if he ran into Larry Bird.  (54:09 mark) Dr. Jerry Punch of ESPN who is covering INDYCAR for the month of May talked about the big stories and speed from last weekend, who are the favorites and how much popularity Fernando Alonso brings to the 500.  (1:07:50 mark) Dave Flemming who is the PxP man for the San Francisco Giants telecast talked with Double D about the series in Chicago at Wrigley and if the homerun streak will continue.  They also talked about the two most popular managers in baseball, Bruce Bochy and Joe Maddon.  (1:27:06 mark) Mike Chappell of Indy Sports Central commented on Chuck Pagano's press conference from earlier today and if anything was noteworthy surrounding the Colts this week.  (1:33:57 mark) Former INDYCAR driver Pancho Carter talked with Dan Dakich to talk about his wreck during 500 practice back in 1987, what it was like going through that crash plus thoughts on the severity of Sebastien Bourdais's wreck over the weekend.

Dan Dakich opened up the program by talking about the NBA ECF's and just how in the heck the Celtics were capable of winning on the road last night in Cleveland despite losing the first two games at home.  (13:08 mark) Former UCLA guard Bryce Alford talked to Dan Dakich after his workout with the Indiana Pacers about what it was ike to play for his dad, thoughts on Lonzo Ball and LaVar, and what NBA personnel think he needs to prove to play at an NBA level.  Dan and Bryce also joked about his Dad, Steve Alford.  (25:16 mark) Kenny Roda The Roadman of 1480 WHBC in Cleveland chatted about the Cavs losing last night, LBJ going after him in the presser and what will happen the rest of the series.  (37:42 mark) Lindsay Czarniak of ESPN/ABC who is the host of the 500 coverage on Sunday on ABC commented to Dan Dakich about the difficulty of the job, story of Dario and Scott being robbed after he won the pole position plus the main racing stories surrounding the 101st Indinapolis 500.  (59:24 mark) And last but not least, the LLRD called in to talk all things random on a Monday and the drama over the weekend regarding the seeding for Minnesota in the women's softball tournament.

Former baller for South Carolina Sindarius Thornwell talked with Dan Dakich today after working out with the Pacers about playing for Coach Frank Martin, going to the Final Four and he future after the NBA workouts.  (4:35 mark) Andrew Dakich called in to talk about the NBA Playoffs and what would be a good trade if the Pacers do end up going that route.  (15:10 mark) Former stud for the Indiana Hoosiers and 1981 champion Landon Turner called in for his new weekly chat and today he and Dan talked about his turkey hunting trip, fishing and even a little NBA Playoffs.

The legend, The Nature Boy Ric Flair conversed with Dan Dakich earlier today about coming to Indianapolis to host the Snake Pit at the 101st Indy 500.  Ric commented to Dan about many highlights of his life, divorce, what it's like to be himself, the state of wrestling, upcoming 30 For 30 on ESPN and much more.  If you want to be entertained, this is the converstation for you.  This easily became one of our favorite interivews ever on the Dan Dakich Show.  (20:14 mark) Voice of the Boston Red Sox Dave O'Brien talked with Double D today about if Boston fans respect what Theo has done in Chicago, best teams in baseball so far plus the Celtics heading to the Eastern Conference Finals under Brad Stevens.  (39:03 mark) Mike Chappell of Indy Sports Central dropped by for his normal Tuesday conversation and they discussed the latest with the Colts and how the team matches up agains the division on paper.  (53:09 mark) Seth Greenberg of ESPN CBB chatted with Double D about the upcoming NBA Draft, what kids to watch out for mixed in with some NBA Playoffs.

Caleb Swanigan of the Purdue Boilermakers talked with Dan Dakich this afternoon about working out with the Pacers today, what he learned from the process of working out with NBA teams last year and what he is looking to accomplish over the next couple weeks.  Caleb has until May 24th to make a decision.    (10:25 mark) David Kaplan of ESPN 1000 Kap and Company and host on CSN Chicago talked with Dan Dakich about his book that just dropped on the Cubs called The Plan.  Dan and Kap talked about the book as well as how the Cubs are playing right now.  You can get the book on Amazon as well as many other outlets.

Rolling on a Thursday with 4 oustanding guests ahead.  Linda Cohn was the first guest of the day and she discussed Matt Harvey being a pain on the Mets, what is happening with the Cubs plus the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  (13:28 mark) Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing dropped by the show to comment on wrecking in Phoenix, how he handles a wreck and loss and thoughts as they are about to hit the track for the month of May.  Fans can come see Graham at Steak 'n Shake next Thursday May 18, 7960 US 31 South from 6:30-8:30pm.  (25:52 mark)  Robert Mathis, #98 formerly of the Indianapolis Colts dropped by the show to discuss how he is handling retirment, what he doesn't and does miss about football and how he is getting ready to scratch off one of his bucket list items at the IMS this Saturday for the Grand Prix.  (40:11 mark) March Andretti of Andretti Autosport chatted with Double D about also crashing in Phoenix, what he does after a wreck and loss and why winning the 500 would be everything.
