The Dan Dakich Show Podcast

Dan Dakich started the show giving his thoughts on the recent loss of Southport Police Department's Lt. Aaron Allen.  DD continued to comment on the senseless violence in Indianapolis and why the IPS needs more help and funding to improve the school system.  Dan would later give his take on the Indianapolis Colts as the team looks towards training camp. (44:09 mark) Left Fielder and Indiana native Adam Lind of the Washington Nationals joined in with Dan to give his take on his team hitting five home runs in an inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday night, how players handle ejections from games, the best pitcher he has ever faced, and his opinions on doubleheaders. (1:11:14 mark) Dan would end the show with Conrad Brunner to debate the top athletes that are the face of indianapolis and his take on the Colts with training camp on the horizon.

(23:30 mark) Los Angeles Angles pitcher Alex Meyer joined the show to talk about what keeps him busy in the off-season as well as his one of his first encounters with Albert Pujols. (45:48 mark) Movie extraordinaire and ESPN host Adnan Virk talked with Dan about the top movies of the summer, Cubs, White Sox and the Dodgers pitching problems with the injury to Clayton Kershaw. (1:13:15 mark) ESPN's Mike Wells reported on the upcoming start to the Colt's training camp and what we can look forward to with this team. 

Movie extraordinaire and ESPN host Adnan Virk talked with Dan about the top movies of the summer, Cubs latest burst, White Sox rebuilding and the Dodgers pitching problems with the injury to Clayton Kershaw. 

Los Angeles Angles pitcher Alex Meyer joined the show to talk about what keeps him busy in the off-season as well as his one of his first encounters with Albert Pujols. 

It's a random Wednesday on The Double Dizzle Show and Dan talked about everything from the Colts, coaching staff and what he thinks will happen early in the season.  DD commented on the situation happening in Cleveland with LBJ and Kyrie wanting to leave and who might be to blame.  Most importantly, Dan went into what he told his doctor about getting old.  

Dan Dakich kicked things off with play-by play announcer for the Big Ten Network Lisa Byington on gaining her experience to become the first woman to call football games on BTN.  Lisa would also go on to describe how the experience of a play by play announcer differs from that of a sideline reporter. (13:15 mark) Mike Chappell of Fox 59/CBS 4 and Indy Sports Central joined Dan and gave an update on Andrew Luck and Malik Hooker's  status and what expectations should be for the Colts at the start of the 2017 regular season. (26:04 mark) Ryan Burr of NBC's Golf Central chimed in on Jordan Spieth's rank amongst the all time greats and how emotion should be present in the sport of golf. (48:02 mark) Double D would end the show by having the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 winner Kasey Kahne of Hendrick Motorsports on to discuss his thoughts a few days after the big win at IMS, his near future in racing and how he looks to carry the momentum for the rest of the 2017 season.  Dan also asked Kasey what drivers and Nascar can do to help boost the attendance for the Brickyard 400.   

Dan was back from his vacation and had a lot on his mind including his thoughts on the Brickyard 400, Jordan Speith winning the Open Championship, and Kyrie Irving asking for a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. (15:00 mark) Kentucky Coach John Calipari joined Dan to discuss the Kentucky v. Indiana rivalry, the NCAA rules and how to improve college basketball, and much more. (45:00 mark) WISH-TV racing analyst Derek Daly joined Dan to breakdown the Brickyard 400 and ways NASCAR can gain popularity. (1:00:00 mark) Dan and Kyle brainstorm ideas of when the Brickyard 400 should be so more fans travel to IMS as well as take listner calls and their input. 

Greg Rakestraw filled in for Dan while he was on vacation, and Greg kicked things off with how he has seen the Brickyard 400 over the years and Robert Mathis's article in The Players' Tribune. (23:29 mark) Will Haskett of Sirius XM's PGA Tour radio joined Greg and gave an update of the current stage of the British open and Jordan Spieth's performance. (37:21 mark) FOX NASCAR's Vince Welch discussed with Greg why NASCAR went to the stage racing format, which drivers would become the face of the sport, and what would be next for the Brickyard 400. (51:28 mark) FS1 and NASCAR Race Hub's Adam Alexander would join Greg to end the show to talk about what is at stake in NASCAR stage racing, what restrictor plates would do to race cars at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the future of the sport. 

Producer Kyle of the Dan Dakich Show was flying solo today with Double D taking a few days off plus Intern Brady and Emily stuck around to contribute to the show and they discussed everything from the Brickyard 400, Pacers, NFL to some what the hell moments from the week.  (13:30 mark) Bart Doan of The Comeback who covers college football talked with Kyle about the state of the Indiana football programs and what to expect from each team for this season plus why Lance Stephenson should start for the Pacers. (28:16 mark) Kyle Petty of NBC Sports called in to discuss his racing career, charity motorcyle ride, living the dream, this weekend's favorites to win and what is next for the sport of racing. (48:24 mark) Former Colts long snapper Matt Overton joined the show to commnt about being released by the Colts, how he isn't giving up on the NFL dream and his top country music concerts of the summer. (1:05:50 mark) Mike Wells of ESPN NFL Nation chatted with Kyle about the new Jay-Z album, Andrew Luck and all things Colts.

Dan Dakich started the show this afternoon by talking about something in sports that needs to be talked about and respected.  (40:48 mark) Racing Rachel McLaughlin from Indiana Grand Racing and Casino dropped by for her weekly Wednesday visit and to give her picks for the 2 stake races this afternoon worth 100K.  Don't forget, this is the last week for Race of the Day from the IG Race Course on the Dan Dakich Show.  (53:30 mark)  Miles Simon who just started as an Assistant Coach with the Los Angeles Lakers dropped by the program to talk about his move from ESPN to Lakers, how it came about, coaching Lonzo Ball and why the NBA is so much different than college ball.  (1:10:00 mark)  Scoonie Penn who was just hired on at Ohio State to be in charge of Player Development talked with Double D about how he got the job, never knew Coach Holtmann before the introductory press conference and a look back at the old days when Scoonie whipped up on Indiana.

(10:21 mark) Mike Chappell of Fox 59 joined Dan to discuss the impact of firing a general manager late in the NFL offseason after the firing of Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman and the status of Andrew Luck as training camp is around the corner. (19:42 mark) Shannon Spake of FS1 talked with Dan about the latest NASCAR racing format that will change the Brickyard 400, the sport moving forward once Dale Jr. retires and if there is any buzz around this Sunday's race.  

Dan was away from the microphone for the Tom Dakich Memorial Golf Outing, so Jeff Rickard would fill in for this edition. Darnell Hillman joined Jeff to talk about his days in the American Basketball Association and his views of the modern day NBA at the beginning of the show. (11:06 mark) Jeff would talk next with Scout.com's Jeff Rabjohns to preview the top 100 recruits that Indiana University men's basketball recruited. (19:45 mark) Jeff would end the show having the Golf Channel's very own Rex Hoggard to discuss the upcoming British Open.

Dakich and professional fighter Matt Mitrione on knocking out Fedor and what will happen when Conor takes on Floyd.
