New Head Coach of the Indiana Hoosiers Archie Miller talked with Dan Dakich about how the process went down, what it means to be at Indiana, family coaching tree and what his first order of business is at Indiana University.  (25:45 mark) Mike Chappell of Indy Sports Central chatted with Dan Dakich this afternoon about the latest news with the Colts, Jim Irsay and if the current situation will take some time to build.  (36.55 mark) Coach Frank Martin of the South Carolina Gamecocks is on his way to the Final Four in Phoenix, Arizona and he dropped by The Dan Dakich Show to chat about how his team has shocked everyone, the culture of his team, why parents in society need to be more tough on children and how when the buzzer went off on Sunday, he thought about the past 35 years of his life.  (49.50 mark) Tyra Buss of the Indiana Women's basketball team called into The Dan Dakich Show to discuss the season, tough loss to Villanova, how she maintains in the off-season and what her plan might be after finishing at IU.

Seth Greenberg of ESPN College basketball joined Dan Dakich as he does on a weekly basis during the CBB year and today they talked everything from the hiring of Archie Miller at IU, culture of the program, Sweet 16 and Elite 8 weekend and thoughts on the teams left in the Final Four.

Producer Kyle of The Dan Dakich Show and former UFC and current Bellator MMA fighter Matt Mitrione have a show called The Beatdown that typically airs once a month or every other month on Saturdays from 11am-1pm EDT on 93.5 FM and 1070 The Fan.  Today the guys talked about the latest setback with Matt's health undergoing kidney stones before his last fight and wait until you hear how many kidney stones he had, and how he finally passed them in an airport.  Kyle and Matt also talked about the fight being rescheduled, college hoops and several other random topics.  You can check out Dan Dakich at the (50:00 mark) on everything Sweet 16, Elite 8 and March Madness plus my old high school friend Coach Chris Hawkins of Crispus Attucks joined me (1:17:55 mark) as they get ready to go up for their first state title tonight at Banker Life Fieldhouse since 1959.

Friday was a jam packed Dan Dakich Show as part one of the Sweet 16 is in the books and we are getting you ready for part two plus the Elite 8 right here on 1070 The Fan.  First up from ESPN and former Notre Dame standout player LaPhonso Ellis on UCLA and UK tonight, last night's Sweet 16 and how Xavier was able to overcome Arizona. (9:45 mark) New Illinois Fighting Illini Head Coach Brad Underwood called into the show to discuss how the job came about, his coaching style and what he plans to bring to the program.  (20:35 mark) Mike Tirico of NBC Sports chatted with Double D regarding his current duties with NBC, how he is prepping for the Olympics, as well as March Madness and the NBA.  Dan and Mike also commented on the open HC'ing job with Indiana basketball.  (52:25 mark) Jeff Goodman of ESPN talked about being in Memphis for the Sweet 16, if Butler can take out Carolina and what head coaching jobs are being filled and remain open around college hoops.  (1:06:40 mark) Coach Chris Mack of the Xavier Muskateers took some time to chat about the amazing Sweet 16 win over Arizona last night, moving on to the Elite 8, how his team played plus thoughts on Oregon.  (1:22:05)  Jeff Rabjohns of Peegs.com had a discussion with DD about Doug Gotlieb on the Dan Patrick Show, the HC'ing position that remains open for the Hoosiers and who could be up for the job.  We'll talk to you on Monday and as always, thanks for listening to The Dan Dakich Show on 1070 The Fan.

We're gearing up for the Sweet 16 starting tonight and you know the Dan Dakich Show is rooting for the fighting Andrew Dakich's and Michigan Wolverines all the way.  Today DD spoke with Coach Bruce Pearl of the Auburn Tigers and also CBS March Madness Analyst about who the toughest teams are left in the NCAA Tourney, who to watch out for and what teams advance to the Elite 8.  (13:50)  Fran Fraschilla of ESPN chatted about Tom Crean being let go by Indiana, future of his son since he was part of the staff plus what he thinks of Purdue and Kansas tonight.  And last but not least, (22:50) Seth Greenberg of ESPN CBB called in for his weekly chat to discuss everything happening in college hoops, NCAA Tournament and who could be heading to the Final Four next week.

Dan Dakich opened the show this afternoon by talking to Wisconsin Badgers Head Coach Greg Gard about their journey to the Sweet 16, what it has been like coaching this group and how they are preparing for Florida.  (12:37 mark) Matt Painter called in after beating a really tough Iowa State team on Saturday night to return to the Sweet 16.  Coach Painter talked about his team, the play of Caleb Swanigan and his thoughts on the upcoming matchup against Kansas.  (23:25) Mike Chappell of Indy Sports Central, Fox 59 and CBS 4 chatted with Dan Dakich about the latest FA pickups for the Colts.  (37.35)  Lilly King of the IU Swimming team dropped back by the show to chat with Dan Dakich about winning the 200 breast NCAA title with a new American and NCAA record time of 2:03.18!  Lilly also talked about how her life has changed since the Olympics.(50:15) Andrew Dakich of the Michigan Wolverines called in to chat about the team going to the Sweet 16 after two crazy wins over Oklahoma State on Friday and Louisville on Sunday.  Two of his teammates Zak Irvin and Sean Lonergan also jumped on the phone to talk more about the run over the weekend.  (103:35) And lastly, our friend Brody Stephens talked with DD about his bracket picks and how he is feeling this week.  We are all #BrodyStrong

Dan Dakich opened the show by talking about the continued IU coaching rumors before moving on to the NCAA Tournament. He spent the rest of the first hour discussing Purdue and Butler, Michigan, officiating mistakes, Kentucky fans in Indy and more.  (42:30) Coach Frank Martin of the South Carolina Gamecocks joined Dan Dakich to disucssed the monster win yesterday over Duke to reach the Sweet 16.  Dan and Frank chatted about how his team played yesterday, what the culture is at SC and how supportive his wife has been through his whole coaching career. (57:00)  Lastly, Dan Dakich talked with the Voice of the Hoosiers Don Fischer about Tom Crean being out as coach of the Hoosiers, the current search and how they will support whoever is the next HC of the Indiana Hoosiers.

Dan Dakich started the show with a brief recap of NCAA Tournament action from Thursday before spending most of the first hour of the show talking about the Indiana coaching vacancy and taking calls. Conrad Brunner joined Dan (46:00 mark) to discuss the Colts' free agent moves, the Pacers and Paul George's attitude, plus Tyler Hansbrough joining the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Then, Purdue broadcaster Larry Clisby talked with Dan (1:00:00 mark) about the Boilermakers' first round tournament win over Vermont and the inconsistency of Isaac Haas. Finally, Andrew Dakich called in to talk (1:08:00 mark) for a few minutes about his Michigan Wolverines' one-point win over Oklahoma State in the first round of the tournament.

15 minutes after The Dan Dakich Show began, IU released an email that AD Fred Glass decided that they were going to go a different direction with the head coach of the men's basketball program at Indiana University.  Dan Dakich gave his immediate thoughts and stayed close to the topic for most of the afternoon as well as offered some thoughts on today's games on the first official day of March Madness.  Nick Gardner of the Butler radio broadcast chatted with DD about today's matchup versus Winthrop and why the Dawgs are playing well right now (7:55 mark).  And only the second guest of the day, ESPN CBB's Andy Katz who is in Indianapolis right now dropped by to discuss what happened at Indiana today and to further explain what he meant on Twitter when it came to Indiana University basketball and Tom Crean (42:00 mark).

1070 The Fan Program Director Greg Rakestraw filled in for Dan Dakich this afternoon while he is in Bristol doing TV for ESPN and GR talked with Head Coach Mark Slessinger of the New Orleans Privateers about his team this season, Indiana ties, and playing in the First Four tonight in the NCAA Tourney.  Mike Chappell of Indy Sports Central, Fox 59 and CBS 4 chatted with GR about the moves new GM Chris Ballard has made so far with the Colts and who else might be out soon.  Next up was Purdue radio PxP man Rob Blackman on the Boilers loss in the B1G tourney, how they dealt with the loss and a look at the upcoming first round game against Nevada.  Former Purdue standout Katie Gearlds and current coach of the Women Marian Knights about playing in back to back NAIA National Championships tonight against St. Xavier after winning 22 games in a row.  And last, David Woods of the Indianapolis Star who covers the Butler Bulldogs talked about them getting knocked off again in the Big East tourney and what to expect from them in the big dance Thursday afternoon.

With Dan calling the Big Ten Tournament on ESPN, Greg Rakestraw hosted the show on Friday. Conrad Brunner discussed Colts free agency with Greg, as well as where the Pacers stand with roughly a month remaining in the regular season. Then, Brian Neubert of GoldandBlack.com joined the show at halftime of Purdue's Big Ten Tournament game against Michigan and talked about the first half, how motivated the Boilermakers were to make a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament and what the atmosphere is like for the conference tournament in Washington D.C. Greg also talked to Jeff Rabjohns of Peegs.com and talked about all things IU basketball including the win over Iowa, improved play from De'Ron Davis, Juwan Morgan and Josh Newkirk, the matchup against Wisconsin tonight and the Hoosiers' tournament chances.
