A while back, we found the term "gintellectual" in the profanisaurus. It means "a person who pontificates after drinking a bit too much." Well, with a name that perfect, we had to make the perfect drink...and we succeeded. We drank seven each and didn't even get a hangover, but boy-o-boy did we have fun! And yes, there is a LOT of pontificating this week. Enjoy! The Gintellectual (Makes two) 3 oz. Gin 1.5 oz. Sweet Vermouth 1 oz. Vanilla syrup Splash of lime juice 4 Bing cherries, pitted 2 lime wedges Fill cocktail shaker half full with ice. Pour in ingredients. Shake until frosty. Strain into two martini glasses. Drop in two cherries. Garnish with a wedge of lime.  

XBOX's recent 180 caused us both to do a 360 this week.  Speaking of 360s, we continue on with our console love this week. Cassandra keeps on truckin- with Injustice.  Tara drops Max Payne 3 for Bioshock Infinite. A discussion on the post-E3 console wars. Now that XBOX will no longer have the enforcement of DRM, will allow game sharing via disks, no longer be region locked, and no longer require an Always On internet connection, we decided to pit the two consoles against each other once more,  on purchasing decision points. Which one will you pick?   Our break this week is by The Efts.  We loved this cover that Shannon and Loretta did of The Who's 'Baba O'Riley'.  The layers of synth and harmony are fabulous music to our earholes. We wanted to share it with you.  If you love this song as much as we do, stop on over and tell them!

Folks ask why we don't normally do live shows. They would all be 3 hours long.  That being said, we had a blast  with our friends last Saturday, and we recorded it just for you, in case you missed it.  It's pretty much uncut. This is part one, with our usual style first half of show with a little added craziness.  We wrap it up with a brief chat with our favorite musical couple, The Efts, Shannon and Loretta.  They have written us a new theme song and we are excited to share it. We love The Efts for their awesome music inspired by the people they care about and the games they play.  We look forward to hearing each and every new song they bring to our ears, and we think you should too.   Cocktail of the week is named by our listeners. We think Patsy and Edina would approve.   Holy Collateral Damage of Aghhh!  Ice Cubes Cocktail Shaker 2 Martini glasses 6 oz. Lemonade 2 oz. Sprite 2 oz. Chambord 2 oz. Vodka 2 lemon wedges Mix all ingredients except for Sprite into cocktail shaker until frost forms on glass.  Pour into 2 martini glasses, add 1 ice cube each, decorate with lemon wedge. Serve. Now, go sit on the porch or in the garden with your music player and listen to TMPGotI.

The Cinco De Mesmer Looks like: Weird! Tastes Like: Berry-fizzy-yum-yums   Serves 2! You'll need:   1 Cocktail shaker with 6 ice cubes 2 tall boy glasses with 4 ice cubes 3 oz silver tequila 1 oz lime juice 3 oz pomegranate juice 3 oz of Kinky 12 blueberries Sparkling water or Sprite, depending on how sweet you want it Pour all ingredients except sparkling water and blueberries into cocktail shaker. Shake and pour into 2 tall boy glasses. Top with sparkling water/Sprite and 6 blueberries each and stir. As the carbonation catches to the blueberries, they will rise to the top and eventually bob back down - sort of like a pink and purple polka-dotted science experiment that you can drink!.

This week our cocktail is a Sassy Applebum - the first cocktail we ever created together. Check out the video of us making some. This week we focus on announcements of announcements (xBox reveal on May 21!) and teasers of teasers (Dragon Age 3 teaser for a trailer). We are also excited to give you a tease of the new song that the Efts wrote and recorded for our 200th episode! It is sooooo good!  

When I phoned Cassandra to ask her if she had tequila and eggs, I think she was a little concerned.   I like to experiment with different tastes and textures when it comes to mixin' things up in the cocktail shaker.  I'd grown a bit bored with the classic cocktail and wanted to make something new and exciting. I decided that on my week to into, I'd like to mix up some drinks inspired by some of the classes that I play in ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2. Cocktail of the Week is The Sylvari Ranger.  To make this, you will need the following: 1 cocktail shaker 2 martini glasses about 6-8 ice cubes 3 oz tequila (silver) 1 oz orange liqueur 1/2 oz almond liqueur 1.5 oz sweetened lime juice egg whites (of 2 eggs) Mix all ingredients into a cocktail shaker until the outside becomes frostier than Shiverpeak Mountains (or your arm gets really tired, like that one time when you got the high score on Cock Hero).  Strain liquid into martini glasses, and later the remaining meringue onto the top. Tastes like: Very tart, sweet, tangy, frothy, and citrus kissed. Quite refreshing! Looks like: Something that many of us have had in our mouths before, but didn't get a chance to look at before swallowing. This week our cocktail is the Sonic Screwdriver, thanks to the Drunken Moogle and various other sources, which we used to put our own twist on the yummy drink. In the second half we cover some news, too! :)  

Hello Internet Traveler! We are back with adventures in celebrating Jameson Day! Oh, you've never heard of Jameson Day?  Well, that's because we just made it up. This week, we created cocktails with ingredients which, probably should not be placed into the same glass together, and which have some rather interesting reactions to one another. It is a strange ride this episode.  Songs were sung, beer was spilled, and Ice Station C became one of the loudest  places on earth.. That almost sounds like a premise to a reality television series where the most self-deprecating parts get played back on TMZ. Meanwhile.. Cassandra continues with Devil May Cry, finding a new level and a new death count.  Tara delves even more into GW2 world versus world or, "wuv-wuh". The break this week comes from a remix of  all of the "Uhhs" that I took out of the show (Uhhs and Umms provided by the both of us, due to the drinking of said Jameson),  along to Tipsy's Sweet Spot. After the break, The Efts have shared a new song to honor Shannon's parents 40th Anniversary. This song speaks to the love and tenderness that a team of two endure to be matched equally together, through the decades.  Our kindest wishes are with them.   We are also very excited because The Efts have their 5th album out,- we hope they will keep on making music together forever, and that you will enjoy their music as much as we do. Our discussion this week, is: A poem read at the GDC, and how one Microsoft Narrative Designer says that women are the "New Core" of gamers and are the new focus of Microsoft- we cannot help but smile and at the same time, wonder what such statements mean for those of us who just think of ourselves as gamers.
