The Jason Stapleton Program show

The Jason Stapleton Program

Summary: Try as we might, we could never describe the show better than those who choose to make it a part of their daily lives, so, in the words of one of our listeners,"So who/what is Jason Stapleton/podcast? Before I answer that, ever heard of the saying, 'In a world gone mad...a glimpse of sanity' or 'In an ocean of turmoil...an island of calm'? Well, he's that and a whole lot more...entertaining, topical, knowledgeable, informed, traveled, intelligent and articulate. In his podcasts he brings his special sense of understanding and ability to simply the issues (governments, politics, economy, domestic and foreign policy, war, markets, morals, and more) an hour each day. If all the madness and all the turmoil (at home and all around the world) have you confused, aggravated and looking for a source of clarity, perhaps Jason can bring you a bit of sanity and a welcome sense of calm."

Three Stories that Tell us what to Expect From the New Congress | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3057

We're less than a week removed from the election, and the Republicans are already passing new regulation and tax legislation. If this is any indication of how Republicans will govern I think a lot of Americans are going to be a bit disappointed. I get accused of being too cynical, and I wholly admit to having an extremely low opinion of our elected officials, but there's a reason for that. Today I'm going to discuss three articles that will shed some light on what kind of government we just elected. I would love to be proven wrong, but I rarely am. We're also going to discuss an article suggesting we eliminate the states and consolidate power within the federal government. As I'm sure you can imagine, I've got plenty to say about that as well. Lots to discuss today. Don't forget to Subscribe and Share!! Jason

Michael Savage and Right Wing Media Come to Grips with the Real Donald Trump | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3122

I don't listen to a lot of talk radio anymore. It's mostly audiobooks. But last night I did catch about 10 minutes of Michael Savages show as I was driving to pick up dinner. I just have to share what I heard. You have to keep in mind that Savage has been licking the boots of Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president. Maybe it's the whole "Language, Borders, and Culture" thing or maybe he just obnoxious, self-righteous northeasterners. Whatever it is, he's been professing the virtues of a Trump presidency for more than a year. Now that Trump has the candidacy it's time to walk back or at least lower the expectations of his voters and Savage is not happy. You might think he'd reevaluate his support for Trump or even his judgement, but you'd be wrong. Instead, he came up with a downright laughable conspiracy theory. Trump is not the savior of conservatism. He's not the great white hope for America. He's just another politician who told people what they wanted to hear.

Today I'm chatting with Tom about the election, unprincipled progressives and the libertarian message. This is a show you don't want to miss. Listen Now! Jason

A Libertarian Response to Clinton Supporters | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3090

We've all see the outright hysterical reaction to Hillary Clintons loss on Tuesday. My Facebook feed has been blowing up with people on both sides. One expressing fear and sorrow, the other mocking their pain. I even saw a tearful Miley Cyrus live-stream her emotional breakdown on Facebook and I'd be lying if I said it didn't warm my dark heart a little. But if you're a libertarian and you're spending your time laughing at your colleagues and coworkers for blubbering like a teenage girl at a Christian camp revival you are missing another great opportunity to share a message of hope wrapped in a libertarian bow. I have gone to great lengths to explain not only what we believe and why it's important but I've also focused heavily on messaging. How do we sell liberty and personal responsibility to an increasingly dependent society? The answer is, we take every opportunity to show how one person's pain can be solved by moving toward liberty. This election is yet another chance to spread that message in a positive way. Today I'm going to show you how I'd do it. I'm hoping you can use the template I lay out to assist you in discussing libertarianism with those close to you who are distraught over the election results. It never stops folks. We are constantly pushing, constantly looking for every opportunity to convert the lost. You need to be a light for liberty a torch that provides hope for a brighter tomorrow. Carry on, Jason

The Day After | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2928

I have heard the pundits spin this election from all angles. I've heard right-wingers explain WHY Donald Trump lost and I've heard the progressives try to explain away Hillary's devastating loss. I have yet to hear a single person explain the underlying message that locked up the presidency for Trump. I've got so much I want to cover today. So many different things I want to explain to you. I hope I can get it all into an hour. If you've been listening to the show for more than a couple of days, you know this was a possibility. I talked about a Trump upset. I told you about my skepticism of the poll numbers and the chance for a Trump blowout on October 20th, right after the last debate. Here is the Truth, Republicans didn't win for the reasons they think and Democrats didn't lose for the reasons they think. This is not complicated or hard to understand, but I'm going to break it down for you on today's episode.

On the Show: KrisAnne Hall Discusses Nullification in Kansas | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3148

In 2014 Kansas passed a law protecting its citizens from federal prosecution on a variety of 2nd Amendment issues. Put simply; Kansas adopted a law that nullified a host of federal laws and made enforcement of those laws by federal agents a class 10 felony. Attorney General Holder immediately sent a letter to Governer Brownback informing him that the new law was a violation of the Constitution and the State of Kanas was subject to federal law. Secretary of State Kris Kobach sent a letter back to Holder saying, in not so few words, "Whatever." Now two Kansans have been arrested by the Feds and are being charged with felonies for violating federal gun control laws. The very laws Kansas aimed to nullify. And what is the response from the local Sheriff, Govoner and Attorney General? Crickets. They have left these two men out to dry. It's a disgusting dereliction of duty, and I brought on one of the top Constitutional minds to discuss it with me today. If you're as angry as I am, take a couple of minutes and call those involved. Let them know how unhappy you are with them and their cowardice. Gov. Sam Brownback - 877-579-6757 Kansas Attorney General - 888-428-8436 U.S. District Court Judge J. Thomas Marten - 316-315-4300

Regardless of the Election Outcome, America Faces Dark Days | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3130

I have no idea how this election will turn out. I normally have an idea but this year I can't tell who's telling me the truth. Here's what I do know. This is not going to be a razor-thin victory for Trump. Either all the polling that puts Clinton up by 3-4 points is garbage and Trump is going to win in a landslide or Clinton will be the next president. Trump has trailed in the polls since the beginning of the race. As we get closer to D-Day, we've seen those polls tighten, but Trump only has a lead in a few outlier polls. That means either everyone is wrong and we're staring at a 1980 style upset, or it means the pollsters got it right and Hillary will win 290 electorial votes. But it really doesn't matter who wins this year. Think I'm full of it? Listen to today's show. The financial condition of our country, our national balance sheet so to speak, is in bad shape. That's an understatement. Our nation is in a debt-death-spiral, and we're getting close to the point where we won't be able to grow our way out of it. Today's show lays out just how bad our problems are and why neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump is the cure. Enjoy! Don't forget to Subscribe and Share!

We Blew it: How Libertarians Squandered Their Greatest Opportunity | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3214

Hillary is back in the news today after Fox News reported they have two sources close to the Clinton investigation who say an inditement is "likely." It's as though this election was tailor made for libertarians. People are hungry for a change. They're tired of being lied to, tired of being taxed to death, tired of being regulated out of a job and tired of hearing news stories about American wars around the world. Unfortunately, when delegates at the Libertarian convention had the chance to nominate a candidate who would promote and articulate our values and principles they decided instead to pick two former Republicans who's only firm conviction seemed to be geared toward drug legalization. Now libertarians find themselves with no voice. No one to promote their principles, and a candidate who will likely get far less than the 5% necessary to make the party eligible for federal money. It's a lose, lose, lose scenario. The worst possible outcome. The mainstream always thought of us as clowns and crazies, but for a brief moment, America was giving our ideas a look. What they found were a burnout and a Clinton supporter. It was our greatest opportunity, and it turned out to be our biggest failure. Jason

Libertarian Developer Jeff Carroll Talks About Taking on the State | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3308

Today I've got an incredible interview. I found out about Jeff through our private FB group. He'd been working on the development of a new community in North Carolina, and he shared some of his struggles with the local government. It wasn't the struggle or the corrupt governments that peaked my interest; it was the way Jeff had dealt with the problem and how he succeeded in spite of all the obstacles the city threw against him. He is living proof that you can fight city hall and win. Through our discussion, I discovered that he didn't just do it once. He's spent his career battling with local government to bring real affordable housing to communities across the U.S. It's a story you don't want to miss. Enjoy! Jason

The Clearest Evidence of Potential Voter Fraud I've Seen | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3100

I've got a bit of a conspiracy episode for you today. I know, we typically stay away from speculation but the two stories I've got for you today are so plausible I feel like I need to share them with you. The first story has to do with James Comey and why he announced to Congress that he was looking into additional emails related to his closed Hillary Clinton investigation. The other has to to with voter fraud. Now, although these stories are highly plausible, I've gone the extra mile to make sure I identify the holes in the story and separate fact from fiction. If nothing less I hope you learn something new and it gets the gears turning in your head. Our numbers keep growing, that means you are sharing the show!! Thank you so much! Enjoy the show, Jason

The Weiner Strikes Again! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3125

That's right folks. Just when you thought you'd had all the Weiner you can take, he shows up to offer you one last round of excitement. Apparently, during the investigation into Anthony Weiner's sexting of a 15-year-old girl, the FBI found more than 650,000 emails related to Hillary Clinton and their previously closed investigation into her use of a private email server. Some of the emails must have been serious because James Comey has now notified Congress that he is again investigating Hillary for possible mishandling of classified information. I've got a lot of thoughts on this, and I've been forced to hold my tongue the entire weekend. NO MORE! Today I speak. Enjoy, Jason
