Surprised, he looks at YOU and not the vulture. Acting as if you don't notice, and not missing a beat, you call out in Indonesian, "Ooh, hurry! That quail is about to fly away!" Calmly, you reply in Indonesian, "Yes, there are a few in the water and few over there on the grass too." Standing there is a soldier who has just arrived from Jakarta looking scared and unsure. However, there shown in his eyes is a willingness to serve the country in Yogyakarta. The two stare at each other, the woman instantly falling in love, and hoping for the soldier's safety so that they can meet again. In short lyrics, Ismail Marzuki presented various emotions felt by a lot of people of that time. Ismail's observation on the romantic side of war generated songs that are love and war themed.
