Season 7, Episode 86 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd is back in the main chair and we kick things off with his thoughts on the busy week the Pittsburgh Steelers had last week. With free agency set to start later this week, David and I discuss several players who have been linked to the Steelers over the course of the last several days in addition to looking some at the top 101 free agents that NFL.com recently posted on their site. Will the Steelers go after a cornerback in free agency? If there’s any position they throw money at over the course of the next week, cornerback figures to be it. The Steelers restricted tender two players last week at the lowest amounts so David and I discuss the possibilities of either signing offer sheets with other teams because of that. With the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine now winding down in Indianapolis, David and I discuss a few position groups and individual players who stuck out. We will be back on Wednesday with another show to further discuss free agency and you give you more thoughts on what we observed during the combine. Season 7, Episode 85 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora sits in for David Todd once again and we start this episode off by remembering Alan Gifford, a friend of mine and longtime listener of the show who passed away recently. After remembering Alan, we move on to talk about the busy week the Pittsburgh Steelers have had that included them signing wide receiver Antonio Brown to a contract extension and placing the franchise tag on running back Le’Veon Bell. We briefly talk about if Bell will have an extension done prior to the 2017 NFL Draft and how much he’ll likely be paid during the first three years if a deal is indeed consummated. The Steelers also re-signed linebacker James Harrison and tendered offensive lineman Chris Hubbard this past week so Alex and I dedicate some time to talking about those two transactions. Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert addressed the media on Wednesday at the NFL scouting combine so Alex and I discuss a few of the talking points coming out of that as well. We talk about the Steelers reportedly having interest in cornerback Darrelle Revis and quarterback Mike Glennon to close out the first part of this episode. With the combine now underway in Indianapolis, Alex and I talk about a few things we look forward to seeing over the course of the next several days. We also talk about one specific drill we both plan on watching carefully. Additionally, Alex and I go over the few players the Steelers have reportedly met with so far at the combine. We talk about Steelers wide receiver Sammie Coates and the condition of one of his fingers before moving on to talk about whether or not the team should sign tackle Alejandro Villanueva to a contract extension this offseason even through he’s an exclusive rights free agent. In the second half of this show I am joined again by former NFL agent Joel Corry, who writes for CBSSports.com. We discuss Corry’s recent article about Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell and how the franchise tag might play a role in future contract extension talks. We drop a lot of math during our discussion and Corry tells me what kind of money he thinks Bell might get from the Steelers by July 15. Corry and I also discuss the future contract extension of wide receiver Antonio Brown and what kind of guaranteed money might be involved in that deal.
