Season 7, Episode 121 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, Alex Kozora sits in again for David Todd and we get right to talking about Pittsburgh Steelers rookie outside linebacker T.J. Watt and if he’ll have a legitimate chance at registering good enough numbers in 2017 to warrant him ultimately being considered for the Defensive Rookie Player of the Year award. After thoroughly discussing Watt, Alex and I turn our attention to the amount of times the Steelers defense dropped their outside linebackers last season and if the high number should be surprising and worth worrying about. How important are sacks when it comes to ultimately killing drives? We discuss that topic based on a recent study and go over the Steelers numbers from last season on both sides of the football. We also discuss what the career numbers of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger might currently be when it comes to him being able to extend drives after suffering a sack. In the second half of this show, Alex and I go over the Twitter poll results that I ran last week. We then close out this podcast by answering a slew of listener questions we received Monday morning from Twitter users. Season 7, Episode 120 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora sits in again for David Todd and we get right to recapping what took place during the Pittsburgh Steelers mandatory minicamp practices this past week. We also go over the one transaction the team made this past week during the opening segment. Several of the Steelers coaches talked to the media this past week so Alex and I focus specifically on what defensive coordinator Keith Butler had to say about schemes as well as what defensive backs coach Carnell Lake had to say about a few of his players. Alex and I then attempt to go over what we think we both learned about the Steelers rookies over the course of the team’s offseason practices as well as a few things we will look forward to examining once training camp gets underway late in July. Season 7, Episode 119 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, Alex Kozora sits in again for David Todd and we get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins capturing another championship for the Steel City Sunday night in Nashville. After praising the Penguins, Alex and I turn our attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers as they prepare for their mandatory minicamp this week. We reset all the main storylines heading into this week before moving on to other topics. Does Steelers quarterback Landry Jones deserve to be ranked 14th overall on ESPN’s latest backup quarterbacks list? Only 16 were listed and Alex discuss which of the other 15 on the list we’d like to have in Pittsburgh instead of Jones. Former Steelers offensive lineman Willie Colon had an interesting quote about tight end Jesse James a few days ago so Alex and I dive into that topic. We also talk about what we expect out of James in 2017 as well as backup tight end Xavier Grimble. Is the Steelers current offensive line the best the franchise has ever had? Better yet, how does this year’s unit matchup to the 2005 version? Alex and I thoroughly discuss that topic late in the show. Season 7, Episode 118 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, Alex Kozora sits in again for David Todd and we get right to talking about a few Pittsburgh Steelers being very visible during the Pittsburgh Penguins Thursday night win over the Nashville Predators in the Stanley Cup Final. The Steelers wrapped up their annual OTA practices on Thursday so Alex and I attempt to recap the health of the team as they prepare for their mandatory minicamp. Tackle Alejandro Villanueva finally spoke to the media about his contract situation on Thursday so Alex and I spend a little more time talking about his unique situation and if he’ll ultimately take part in the team’s mandatory minicamp next week. We turn our attention to Steelers defensive tackle Daniel McCullers during the middle part of Fridays show being as he was running behind L.T. Walton at the nose tackle position some with starter Javon Hargrave sidelined at the beginning of the week. Steelers defensive line coach John Mitchell had some interesting words about McCullers that we make sure to recap. Would the Steelers be interested in signing Steve McLendon should he ultimately wind up being released by the New York Jets? We thoroughly explore that scenario. Alex wants to know who the hardest-hitting Steelers player is so we spend a few minutes discussing that topic. We also talk briefly about former Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams possibly perusing a wresting career. Season 7, Episode 117 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, Alex Kozora sits in again for David Todd and we get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers final week of OTA practices that started with a team-building exercise. The Baltimore Ravens suffered another serious injury on Friday so Alex and I discuss what that means for them moving forward into the offseason. Steelers tackle Alejandro Villanueva and running back Le’Veon Bell seemed to be the focal point of a few Pro Football Talk articles over the weekend so Alex and I discuss why those topics are pretty much just meaningless offseason drivel. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t been great on the road the last few seasons so Alex and I discuss that topic in addition to him not being great last season when using play-action. We move on to talk more in-depth about the Steelers wide receiver group and whether or not we’ll see a few more four wide receiver packages this year. We also discuss a few of the players on the bottom of the wide receiver depth chart and their chances of ultimately making the final 53-man roster. The Monday episode ends with my weekend interview with Steelers rookie outside linebacker Keion Adams, the teams seventh-round draft pick this year. Alex and I review the five main things we were looking for heading in the Steelers OTAs in addition to talking about which players are currently dealing with injuries. Season 7, Episode 113 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, Alex Kozora sits in again for David Todd and we get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers 2017 OTA practices that are set to begin this week. Alex and I go over several things we hope to learn or see covered over the course of not only this week, but the next several weeks when it comes to different players. While David and I have already given our thoughts on the Steelers recent release of tight end Ladarius Green, Monday it’s Alex’s turn to offer up some of his thoughts on the transaction as well as the team bypassing the position during the 2017 NFL Draft. Alex and I attempt to identify a few of this year’s tryout players who have a shot at being signed to the 90-man roster after the rookie minicamp is over in addition to talking a little more about a few undrafted free agents who could possibly make some noise in the coming days. New Steelers quarterback Joshua Dobbs has been the focus of an ongoing study that I’m currently conducting so Alex and I go over a few things that have stuck out thus far while reviewing his third down incompletions from his 2016 season at Tennessee. Dobbs played behind several offensive line combinations last season at Tennessee as well so Alex and I review that situation that needs to be considered while reviewing his 2016 game tape. Alex and I spend a little extra time talking about wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner as it relates to a few key statistical areas from their college careers. The Steelers 2017 undrafted free agent class leaves a lot to be desired and Alex and I go over that topic in addition to talking a little about the offensive lineman the team signed on Friday. Season 7, Episode 109 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and continue talking a little more about the Pittsburgh Steelers 2017 draft class now that we’ve had some more time to study a few of their earlier selections more in-depth. We go over when we think a few of the drafted players might start contributing to the team during the 2017 season and if one of them might even be able to supplant wide receiver Antonio Brown as the team’s punt returner. We move on to discuss David’s recent interview with Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop that took place on his show.
