Season 8, Episode 38 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking more about Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant following the recent interview he had with Josina Anderson of ESPN. We discuss Bryant’s future with the team and what kind of punishment, if any, he might receive from head coach Mike Tomlin following his recent social media comments. We also talk about whether or not the Steelers offense will be able to get him more involved in the offense moving forward. We move on to talk a little about Steelers rookie wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and his role in the offense in addition to how he’s been a breath of fresh air this year during the team’s drama-filled first half of the season. Tomlin gave an injury update on Tuesday so David and I cover that list of players in addition to talking about what defensive end Stephon Tuitt said Tuesday night about the prospects of him playing Sunday night against the Detroit Lions. We go over a few more things Tomlin said on Tuesday in addition to covering what quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said during his weekly radio interview. Season 8, Episode 37 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right to recapping the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday Week 7 home win over the Cincinnati Bengals. We start by going over the one injury the Steelers suffered during Sunday’s win and quickly go over the inactive list. David and I move on to fully break down the Steelers winning performance against the Bengals and that includes talking about the play of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of the offense. We discuss the team’s offensive red zone woes and spend extra time going over the play call with 12 seconds remaining in the first half and the comments that Roethlisberger made about that after the game. The Steelers offense had short yardage problems on Sunday so David and I spend a little time talking about that phase. We make sure to address what the Bengals did right and wrong on both sides of the football on Sunday and save enough time to talk about the play of the Steelers defense after that unit allowed two first half touchdowns. Season 8, Episode 36 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get right to recapping what happened in the Thursday night game between the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs in addition to talking about what will happen in the AFC seeding should the Pittsburgh Steelers ultimately beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. David and I discuss how competitive games around the NFL seem to be so far this season and if overall quarterback play around the league has been lacking entering Week 7. David also throws out an interesting question concerning a choice of two future quarterbacks for the Steelers even though it’s unlikely to ultimately happen. We go over some Pro Football Focus defensive rankings during this show and also discuss the Steelers limited usage of man-coverage in their first six games of the regular season. The Steelers Thursday injury report shows that three players might be jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game against the Bengals so we recap that list ahead of the team’s Friday practice and talk about one key injury that Cincinnati is currently dealing with. Season 8, Episode 35 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to recapping the health of the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of their Wednesday practice based on what head coach Mike Tomlin said during his Tuesday press conference. We talk about a few recent practice squad transactions that have taken place this week and if safety Jordan Dangerfield might be promoted to the 53-man roster come Saturday. David and I give our final thoughts on Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant and his reported request for a trade. We both agree that Bryant is highly unlikely to be dealt in the next two weeks. We move on to give our final thoughts on the Steelers play against the Kansas City Chiefs in that big Week 6 road win. That includes us looking at a few throws quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn’t make in the game. We spend a little time talking about Steelers safety Mike Mitchell and his Sunday hit on Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith. We discuss if Mitchell has a worthy rap sheet and why he seems to be the current whipping boy of the fan base. Season 8, Episode 34 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right to recapping the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday road win over the previously unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs. We start walking through the game in this show and make sure to talk about the play of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Le’Veon Bell on Sunday. We see if we can remember all of Roethlisberger’s incompletions in the game and discuss how the Steelers offense ran when an offensive lineman was on the move. The Steelers offense still has problems finishing drives and thus we talk about one of their failed red zone trips in addition to a few failed third down conversions. Sunday’s game featured quite a few bone-head plays by the Steelers so we discuss those and that includes the big penalty by safety Mike Mitchell to close out the third quarter. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a poor decision to not go for a field goal in the fourth quarter so we make sure to discuss that in addition to the Steelers defense giving up some big plays late. Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant apparently has asked to be traded so David and I close out this show with our thoughts on that topic. The Steelers might have outside linebacker James Harrison and wide receiver Eli Rogers both back in helmets on Sunday and if ultimately happens, Alex and I discuss how both players might be used against the Chiefs. Season 8, Episode 32 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to giving our final thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and our concern level heading into the team’s Week 6 road game against the Kansas City Chiefs. We move on to talk more about what’s not right with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger so far this season and throw out a few changes on offense that could potentially get him back on track again. Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers will likely return to the field on Sunday after being benched the last two games so David and I discuss how he and rookie wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster might ultimately be used on Sunday against the Chiefs. Season 8, Episode 31 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right to breaking down the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. We start things off by trying to break the Steelers 30-9 loss to the Jaguars into three game parts and go from there. We move on to talking about each of the five interceptions that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw during Sunday’s game. The Steelers were 0-3 inside the red zone on Sunday and because of that, David and I look at the play calling deep inside the Jaguars end of the field and most notably during their sixth offensive possession of the game, their final one before Roethlisberger’s wheels came off. We talk about what we would like to see the Steelers offense do more of and less of moving forward into the season. We save some time to talk about the play of the Steelers defense on Sunday and how that unit’s wheels came off during the Jaguars first possession of the fourth quarter, which included that drive ending with a field goal after a long string of nothing but running plays. The Steelers look like they’re a very healthy team right now ahead of their Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. We go over the team’s Thursday injury report and look at the possibility of the Steelers having all 22 intended starters on the field this Sunday for the first time since Week 2 of the 2014 season. We move on to give you a full breakdown and preview of the Steelers Sunday home game against the Jaguars. We look at how both defenses have played against the run this season. We also look at the way the Jaguars pass defense has played this season and what that may or may not mean for Brown on Sunday. We go over what the Jaguars do well on offense and what that unit will need to do Sunday at Heinz Field to give them a chance to win the game. Season 8, Episode 29 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to going over the Sunday sideline tantrum of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. We discuss the comments quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, head coach Mike Tomlin and former safety Ryan Clark made on Tuesday about Brown’s actions and if they were warranted. We talk a little more about the play that got Brown fired up and if we’ll see it again in the near future with so much discussion about it right now. Tomlin didn’t give much of an injury recap on Tuesday during his weekly press conference but it was enough of one to allow David and I to look ahead to the team’s potential Week 5 inactive list. Will wide receiver Eli Rogers dress against the Jaguars after being inactive in Week 4? Will outside linebacker James Harrison be a healthy scratch this week? We discuss those topics. Before we get to thoroughly breaking down Sunday’s win over the Ravens, however, we go over the Steelers pregame inactive list and talk about why outside linebacker James Harrison was on it and if we’ll see him on it again in future weeks. The Steelers got their running game on track Sunday against the Ravens so David and I talk about that in addition to the overall play of the offense. We talk about the key penalties the offense had and if too many runs were called on first downs throughout the game. We talk about Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger missing a wide-open Antonio Brown in the first half and break down that play. We also talk about how Roethlisberger is still having problems connecting with his deep passes and how the offense still isn’t in a rhythm. After spending a good portion of his Tuesday press conference answer questions about what happened ahead of Sunday’s game, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin finally delivered an injury status report so David and I spend a little time discussing the unhealthy players and their potential statuses for Sunday’s road game against the Baltimore Ravens. We move on to give some of our final thoughts on the Steelers Sunday loss to the Chicago Bears and that includes talking about the failure to stop the run. We also talk about the poor showing the Steelers offense had on Sunday and how quarterback Ben Roethlisberger might be forcing the football to wide receiver Antonio Brown a little too much. We go over the comments made by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin as to why the team decided not to participate in the national anthem and where all but one player was during it. We also talk about tackle Alejandro Villanueva and his decision to participate in the national anthem and if he “broke ranks” in doing so. We go over Tomlin’s comments on Villanueva’s decision in addition to what quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s and outside linebacker James Harrison’s thoughts on that subject. After thoroughly discussing what happened prior to the Steelers game against the Bears, David and I turn attention to what actually happened during the game.
