Season 8, Episode 68 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley and the New Year’s Eve incident he reportedly had at the Tequila Cowboy that involved his wife. We talk about Haley’s future with the Steelers past this season as it relates to his current relationship with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. We also talk about Roethlisberger’s Tuesday comments on quarterbacks coach Randy Fichtner being brought back to the sidelines during the second half of the regular season. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday, so David and I discuss the main talking points he offered up and that includes his thoughts on resting players, injuries and more. We discuss Roethlisberger’s passing stats following bye weeks and if he indeed really wants to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak is a candidate to become the Arizona Cardinals next head coach and David and I discuss the possibility of that ultimately happening. We also talk thoroughly about the Cincinnati Bengals and their decision to bring back head coach Marvin Lewis and if that was the right decision. The 2018 Hall of Fame finalists were announced Tuesday evening, so David and I discuss former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward not making the cut as well as the potential of former guard Alan Faneca getting elected this time around. Season 8, Episode 67 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home win over the Cleveland Browns to close out their 2017 regular season. There’s a lot of good and bad to recap from Sunday so David and I leave no stone unturned. We talk about the play of Steelers backup quarterback Landry Jones on Sunday and if he’s now considered one of the top No. 2 signal callers in the NFL. The Steelers defense gave up several big plays to the Browns offense on Sunday and David and I recap most of them. We also talk about how well rookie wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster played on Sunday as well as all season long. We make sure to note a few other offensive players who did good things on Sunday. We recap the Steelers injury situation heading into the playoffs and revisit a recent comment made by head coach Mike Tomlin on inside linebacker Tyler Matakevich later in the show. Former Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison had a decent Sunday debut with New England Patriots so we quickly recap that. Season 8, Episode 66 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get right to talking quite a bit about the fallout from the Pittsburgh Steelers releasing outside linebacker James Harrison and his subsequent signing with the New England Patriots. We go over the reactions that several Steelers players have had to the way Harrison handled himself this season and get more into the timeline of events that led to the nasty divorce and his signing with the Patriots. Will the Steelers indeed rest a few starters on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns? It’s looking like that might be the case so David and I both weigh in on our reaction to that decision should it ultimately come to fruition. Season 8, Episode 65 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking a lot about former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison signing with the New England Patriots on Tuesday. We discuss what Harrison has left to offer the Patriots, some potential playoff matchups he might have and if he’s a threat to deliver useful information about his former team to his new team. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and talked a little about what may or may not happen with a few starters in the team’s regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns. Season 8, Episode 64 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Tuesday show, David Todd and I get right to talking a lot about the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday win over the Houston Texans. Prior to breaking down the game, however, we discuss the Steelers decision to waive outside linebacker James Harrison on Saturday in order to activate tackle Marcus Gilbert to the 53-man roster. Will Harrison be back? Should he be back? We discuss. The Steelers really only had one pregame decision that’s worth discussing and it centers around offensive lineman Matt Feiler. For the most part the Steelers played well against the undermanned Texans. With that said, the Steelers defense had problems stopping the run Monday in Houston. We discuss that topic in addition to talking about cornerback Joe Haden traveling around to cover Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and if that decision can be perceived as a slight against fellow starting cornerback Artie Burns. We move on to talk about the Monday return of Steelers tight end Vance McDonald, the usage of new running back Stevan Ridley and how a few other offensive players preformed against the Texans. Is 2017 the final season in Pittsburgh for Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley regardless of how the postseason ends? We discuss that topic for a little while. Season 8, Episode 63 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get things started by reading a very touching email that we received from one of our very satisfied listeners. We move on to discuss our level of fandom for the Pittsburgh Steelers in addition to talking about comments both of us made recently about kicker Chris Boswell and his selection to the Pro Bowl. The Steelers offensive coordinators met the media on Thursday and answered questions about what happened during the Week 15 loss to the New England Patriots. David and I focus on several comments that offensive coordinator Todd Haley made about the final few plays of that game. The Steelers will play the Houston Texans on Monday, so David and I get you ready for that AFC contest. We talk quite a bit about the Texans banged up offense and how we expect the Steelers offense to attack the Houston defense on the road. We go over the Steelers Thursday injury report and look at a forthcoming roster move in addition to examining which seven players will ultimately be inactive on Monday. Season 8, Episode 62 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I are forced to talk more about the last several plays that took place in the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home loss to the New England Patriots because of what head coach Mike Tomlin and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had to say to the media on Tuesday. David and I talk about the final timeout not wanting to be called by the Steelers and how the coaches and Roethlisberger all failed at being prepared after the touchdown catch by tight end Jesse James was overturned. We present a few real-timeline examples for you to ponder as we beat the horse to death when it comes to the end of the game topic. Tomlin had a few other things to say on Tuesday about injuries and how the defense tried to defend Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski so we spend several minutes going over those topics. After roughly an hour, David and I finally move on from the Steelers game against the Patriots and begin to focus on the team’s Week 16 Monday game against the Houston Texans. We start by talking about Steelers injured linebacker Ryan Shazier being at the game and move on to talk about the injuries suffered by wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back James Conner and how the roster might be juggled as a result of them. Discussion about the overturned touchdown reception by tight end Jesse James dominates the first half of this show and David and I give you our very objective, yet unpopular, thoughts on the ruling. We also discuss the fake spike play and the series of events that took place just prior to that. We open by looking back at some past players who played for the Steelers in previous games against the Patriots and how this year’s team seems to be much better from top to bottom. The Steelers Thursday injury report included a few surprises, so David and I recap it and try to predict which players we think might ultimately play Sunday against the Patriots. We also talk a little about wide receiver Martavis Bryant being removed from kickoff returns this weekend. David and I continue to talk a little more about the Steelers game against the Patriots before we pass along our Thursday interview with Ben Volin, who covers New England for The Boston Globe. Season 8, Episode 58 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night win over the Baltimore Ravens that resulted in them clinching the AFC North. David and I jump all over the place early on in this podcast but finally settle on talking about the play of the Steelers offense against the Ravens. We talk a lot about the play of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown and the two tight ends, Jesse James and Vance McDonald. Running back Le’Veon Bell was also a huge contributor in the passing game Sunday night and we discuss a few of his touchdowns Sunday night. We make sure to save plenty of time to talk about the play of the Steelers defense Sunday night which wasn’t great at all. We go over how the Steelers tried to cover up for the loss of inside linebacker Ryan Shazier and how safety Sean Davis had a miserable night.
