154: THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR and PROM RIDE | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:14:56

It's hotter than hell at SQHQ, which means it's perfect weather to stay inside and watch scary movies! First up, cinematic dystopia heads closer to reality in THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR.  Then THE CRAPSHOOT returns to check out PROM RIDE...a movie that is not only bad; it's just plain ugly. Also, all the details from the GALA Festival in Denver, the horny couple on my flight to Dallas, the winner of the SCHMOVIE contest, general malaise and overall sassiness.

 153: Flashback to Episode 29 – THE LEGACY (1978) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:28

I'm in Denver for the week, so enjoy this trip back in time to a very early episode detailing one of those classic movies that ran on HBO constantly back in the 80's... It's THE LEGACY, a tale of witchcraft and lurking evil and shower scenes and KIKI DEE.  It stars KATHERINE ROSS and SAM ELLIOTT and his totally gratuitous life-changing shower scene. Sure, it's got a death scene that still haunts me, but that shower scene is possibly the most important thing that has ever been filmed in the history of everything. Looking forward to a real episode next time, even though there probably won't be any epic showering in it. Not as epic as this. I mean, come on....LOOK at this man!!! Now back off. He's mine.

BEST and I as we take a stab at the unexpectedly delightful absurdist horror comedy THE SLASHENING. Also, I'll be spilling all the birthday weekend T. Did we Escape the Room? Did the Barracuda Casino and Discotheque go down for the last time? What horrible thing happened at DALLAS BBQ? And expect a command to go see GREEN ROOM in the theaters immediately. ******************** Special thanks to the people at ESCAPE ENTERTAINMENT for making my Escape the Room birthday adventure exceptional.   A beautiful facility, super-friendly staff, movie-quality sets, meticulous attention to detail and a truly challenging series of mind bending puzzles set this company leaps and bounds ahead of the other local escape games. It's that magical time of year of year again....time for another FRIDAY THE 13th SPECTACULARRRR! We're up to FREDDY vs JASON now, so I'm taking a look at this long awaited epic battle between the Titans of Terror. I'll discuss my love for Linderman, KELLY ROWLAND's controversial use of the "F-Word", and the citywide disaster that almost kept me from seeing this in the theaters. Also, my birthday plans, shitty gay comedy shows, fat kitties, a rant against YOUTUBE and a new cause for horror fans to stand up against. (I was going to include a review of GREEN ROOM, but ran out of time.  Just go. Go see it. Now.) ************** Additional music: "Betelehemu" - BYU Men's Choir "I Like Musicals" - Laura Benanti Buy the single here.  148: THE INVITATION and LOST AFTER DARK *repost* | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:04

Reposted on 4/16 minus the mixing error. Now includes a gratuitous Debbie Gibson impersonation This episode brings you a delightful DOUBLE PENETRATION...umm, DOUBLE FEATURE to teach you important life lessons: Never steal a bus when you're quoting an Alicia Silverstone movie that won't come out for another ten years, and never ever attend a dinner party not organized by gays. THE INVITATION is the latest film from KAREN KASUMA that shows that getting together with old friends can be a terrifying thing to do, and LOST AFTER DARK is an 80's style slasher film that teaches you need more than a gimmick to pull off a decent horror movie. I have many words to say about these movies...some good, some bad and many of them four-letter. Also, a spotlight on Broadway's DISASTER! THE MUSICAL (Tickets at www.DisasterMusical.com!)  another AWKWARD URINAL ENCOUNTER and my embarrassing corporate video shoot faux pas! ************ Additional music: "Le Freak"-Chic, "Sky High"-Jigsaw, "Garden Party"-Ricky Nelson, "Devil's Spoke"-Laura Marling

With New Year's rapidly approaching and my podcasting mojo in a state of flux, please enjoy this trip back in time to Episode 61. SMILE is one of the movies so bad, it made me lose my unflappable composure. Many were so entertained by the show the first time that they watched the movie anyway. They're all dead now. Of boredom. Heed the warning. Don't watch it. And if you do, don't blame me!

******************************************************************** Still not running at 100%, so enjoy a another trip in the WayBack Machine to another horrid movie that nearly gave me a stroke.
