Jeep Gladiator Mojave, Mustang Mach 1, Shelby GT 500, and much more…| #461 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:24:10

With ground breaking Desert-tuned suspensions, responsive handling, all the while delivering power, say “Hello, to my little friend”, the Jeep Gladiator Mojave. Alan busts onto the scene with his new jeep that even Mother Nature would appreciate. He welcomes his first guest, Karl Brauer – Automotive Industry Analyst, Forbes Autos Contributor, NACT of the Year juror and board member as they discuss what cars to buy. Alan shares he got tired of paying huge gas bills while owning the 2012 Raptor and has been on a new car “high” from buying his new vehicle. Karl talks about the new Mustang Mach 1 and how it pays homage to the 1969 Mustang Mach 1. The two go on to discuss the partnership between Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi. The Mitsubishi Outlander, with it’s 3rd row seating, seems to be making Mitsubishi some much needed money. Karl says its a very solid vehicle and drives just as nice. They go back to discuss how the Jeep Gladiator is a great example of a vehicle that doesn’t depreciate much in value. Alan takes a pit stop to bring on Chris Buescher – Driver No. 17 Ford Mustang for Roush Fenway Racing. Chris talks about being with the Roush group for 12 years and how Jack gave him his big chance to break into NASCAR. He goes on to talk about the Bristol Dirt race, and how crazy it was to take asphalt driven vehicles, and drive them on dirt. BJ Killeen – Automotive Journalist and Voice of Reason joins in and shares in on Alan’s new Jeep Gladiator Mohave and how amazing it is for off road driving. He goes on to say how he gets about twice the mpg of his Raptor, and how he purchased a Borla duel exhaust for it to get even better mpg. BJ and Alan compare the Gladiator to the Wrangler, their conclusion is the only thing the Wrangler has on the Gladiator is it’s tow package. BJ talks about the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger fight that has been going on for years, and now the new fight is amongst EV vehicles. George Kennedy III – Co-founder of Cartender and Freelance Automotive Journalist for CarGurus, Boston Globe, and U.S. News & World Report, joins the ride as he shares about driving his new Chevrolet Suburban, and says it has all the bells and whistles and how it handles more like a truck than a SUV. They discuss why diesels get better mpg than gasoline engines and it’s usually because they have more gears so its easier on the engine. For more scoops of what’s happening in the auto world, join Alan and his guest on this weeks, “The Drive”. Ed Justice Jr., President and CEO of Justice Brothers Inc. joins the circle as he talks about the new JD Power dependability study and Tesla was not on the list. BJ Killeen – Automotive Journalist and Voice of Reason rides shotgun this week with Alan. They warm up the engine as they discuss Chrysler’s SRT division closing and it’s possible reason why. Hyundai’s Kona and Santa Fe become their next topic as they discuss how the new model has mild refinements and how there is an N line Sporty version of the Kona. Alan revs his dislike about how if one thing looks off, it will completely destroy his interest in the car. With that said, they both agree that the Mitsubishi Outlander could use a new face lift. Alan shift’s gears and chat’s with Steven Cole Smith – Automotive Journalist for Autoweek, Automobile Magazine and Grassroots Motorsports. Steven shares about how he is going to the Dixie Vodka 400 race and how he had to miss some races because he has been working on his property. They talk about the big crashes that happened recently in the Daytona 500, and how Michael McDowell, the winner of Dayton 500 has never won a NASCAR race before. They continue on to say how NASCAR is making more money showing the race on TV then they are selling tickets and merchandise. Steven takes his final lap with Alan as he talks about interviewing John Force in a couple of weeks, as well as the Homestead race coming up that will give an opportunity for drivers to recover from not doing to well at Daytona. Bringing up the rear and closing the show with Alan is Karl Brauer – Automotive Industry Analyst, Forbes Autos Contributor, NACTOY juror and board member. They talk about how gas has gone up, and how car companies are saying that the future in automobiles will be in electric cars. They discuss how Kia was hacked and is being extorted for 20 million dollars. The hackers want to be paid by bitcoin, so they can’t be easily tracked. All the while, Kia is gearing up to release their new vehicle, the Carnival MPV, which is basically a minivan but they don’t want to use that description because of the stigma associated with it.  2021 NASCAR, Daytona 500, and 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat| #453 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:24:12

Alan drifts into this week with Steven Cole Smith – Automotive Journalist for Autoweek, Automobile magazine, and Grassroots Motorsports.  The duo talks about the upcoming Daytona 500 and whether “covid” will also be joining the lineup.  Steven says the facilitators for Daytona are holding it at a quarter capacity and will be doing their best to keep people apart.  Alan slingshots over to Ed Justice Jr. – President and CEO of Justice Brothers, Inc.  Ed shares how he had a car that was supposed to be in the Daytona 500, but wrecked during the qualifying race.  Ed continues the topic of safety and what has changed significantly so that people do not die from wreck’s anymore.  They switch gears and discuss Autotempest.com and its ability to search multiple car sites with little time as well as Road and Truck magazine and its new format.  Though it is convenient to go on the internet, Ed still enjoys reading and holding a magazine. Pulling up the drag is Karl Brauer – Automotive Industry Analyst, Forbes Autos Contributor, NACTY juror and board member.  Karl is also the Executive Analyst for ISeeCars.com and Executive Publisher at CarExpert.com.  He and Alan discuss the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, and how it is almost sold out everywhere.  It is the only 3 row SUV muscle car with 710 horsepower and the need to have one is almost like a drug for auto lovers.  They switch over to the GMC’s new electric Hummer and its 1000 horsepower.  Alan worries that the electric grid will not be able to hold up with so many new electric vehicles being made.  But like all good fads, Alan believes electric cars will fade out.  Do not miss out on what’s new in the Auto World and join Alan as he shift’s gears and charges into this weeks, “The Drive”. Periodically, a person is born who perseveres through the thick and thin to do great things. We pay homage to one such man with our first guest, industry veteran and author of “Enzo Ferrari: Power, Politics and the Making of an Automobile Empire”, Luca Dal Monte. Enzo’s life was a rollercoaster ride, from his involvement in World War 1, to the death of his firstborn son, to the founding of Scuderia Ferrari, and the eventual creation of one of the most iconic brand of cars the world has ever known. Shifting gears, we chat with serial entrepreneur and star of Fast N’ Loud and Garage Rehab, Richard Rawlings, about the new season of Garage Rehab and the upcoming season of Fast N’ Loud. Also, hear about Richard’s planned reveal of a 1972 Boattail Riviera at the SEMA Show 2019, thoughts on the new Chevrolet Blazer and Ford Bronco, wayward Ferrari F40, and other upcoming events. Author of “Enzo Ferrari, Power, Politics and the Making of an Automotive Empire,” Luca Dal Monte, sheds some light onto some of the tougher times in Enzo Ferrari’s life. Enzo was no stranger to loss, from the early death of his father, and the loss of his brother in World War 1, to the death of his son, “Dio” Ferrari, in 1956. Choosing not to be burdened by the grief, Enzo cherished those who he’d lost, often speaking of them as if he’d just them the day before; but Enzo did not escape such loss unscathed. After the death of his first son, Enzo never again raced major circuits, like the Grand Prix.
