2021 NASCAR, Daytona 500, and 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat| #453

The Drive with Alan Taylor show

Summary:
Alan drifts into this week with Steven Cole Smith – Automotive Journalist for Autoweek, Automobile magazine, and Grassroots Motorsports. The duo talks about the upcoming Daytona 500 and whether “covid” will also be joining the lineup. Steven says the facilitators for Daytona are holding it at a quarter capacity and will be doing their best to keep people apart. Alan slingshots over to Ed Justice Jr. – President and CEO of Justice Brothers, Inc. Ed shares how he had a car that was supposed to be in the Daytona 500, but wrecked during the qualifying race. Ed continues the topic of safety and what has changed significantly so that people do not die from wreck’s anymore. They switch gears and discuss Autotempest.com and its ability to search multiple car sites with little time as well as Road and Truck magazine and its new format. Though it is convenient to go on the internet, Ed still enjoys reading and holding a magazine. Pulling up the drag is Karl Brauer – Automotive Industry Analyst, Forbes Autos Contributor, NACTY juror and board member. Karl is also the Executive Analyst for ISeeCars.com and Executive Publisher at CarExpert.com. He and Alan discuss the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, and how it is almost sold out everywhere. It is the only 3 row SUV muscle car with 710 horsepower and the need to have one is almost like a drug for auto lovers. They switch over to the GMC’s new electric Hummer and its 1000 horsepower. Alan worries that the electric grid will not be able to hold up with so many new electric vehicles being made. But like all good fads, Alan believes electric cars will fade out. Do not miss out on what’s new in the Auto World and join Alan as he shift’s gears and charges into this weeks, “The Drive”.

[00:00:00] – Florida, Here We Come!
