The Drive with Alan Taylor show

Summary: <br> “Talking Shop” this week with Alan is BJ Killeen, Automotive Journalist and Voice of Reason. They discuss the possibility of Jeep changing the “Cherokee” name to appease the offended Native Cherokee Nation. Alan feels it will be a sad thing to lose the brand recognition. Kia is thinking about changing their logo and vehicle names as well. Speaking of brand recognition, due to Tiger Woods getting minimal injuries (thankful) the Hyundai Genesis GV80 is getting a lot of attention then any ad campaign could have given it. The two go on to play a clip from Rex Havens who makes jokes about all of the different car names. They say with the new crazy names coming out for vehicles, future comedians will be able to use it in their acts. Ed Justice Jr., President and CEO of Justice Brothers Inc. joins the circle as he talks about the new JD Power dependability study and Tesla was not on the list. It seems Tesla doesn’t play well with others. Ed goes on to say how in 2015 Tesla cars were “perfect” per Consumer Reports Magazine, but later that statement was withdrawn. Ed continues onto discuss electric vehicles vs. high horsepower and who sells faster. George Kennedy III, Co-founder of Cartender and Freelance Automotive Journalist for CarGurus, Boston Globe and U.S. News &amp; World Report, joins the group. George talks about his trip to Aruba as well as his experience in driving a new Lincoln Corsair and it being a compact luxury crossover vehicle. He then shares about what he is currently driving, a Mercedes AMG E53. Smooth and fast is his description. Closing today’s show is Brian Moody – Executive Editor for Autotrader.com. They discuss the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and its collaboration to install the Amazon Fire Tv along with Alexa. Brian says systems like this makes it so you don’t have to have a lot of tech built into the vehicle. They shift topics and discuss Auto Traders list of best used vehicles under 20k. Brian says during the month of March, 2021 model trucks have a huge cash back offer. Want more of what’s happening in the auto world?
