Summary: <br> BJ Killeen – Automotive Journalist and Voice of Reason rides shotgun this week with Alan. They warm up the engine as they discuss Chrysler’s SRT division closing and it’s possible reason why. Hyundai’s Kona and Santa Fe become their next topic as they discuss how the new model has mild refinements and how there is an N line Sporty version of the Kona. Alan revs his dislike about how if one thing looks off, it will completely destroy his interest in the car. With that said, they both agree that the Mitsubishi Outlander could use a new face lift. Alan shift’s gears and chat’s with Steven Cole Smith – Automotive Journalist for Autoweek, Automobile Magazine and Grassroots Motorsports. Steven shares about how he is going to the Dixie Vodka 400 race and how he had to miss some races because he has been working on his property. They talk about the big crashes that happened recently in the Daytona 500, and how Michael McDowell, the winner of Dayton 500 has never won a NASCAR race before. They continue on to say how NASCAR is making more money showing the race on TV then they are selling tickets and merchandise. Steven takes his final lap with Alan as he talks about interviewing John Force in a couple of weeks, as well as the Homestead race coming up that will give an opportunity for drivers to recover from not doing to well at Daytona. Alan makes a quick pit stop as he and BJ Killeen wrap up their talk about eFuel, the synthetic fuel that reduces carbon emissions by almost 85%. BJ says its a good thing because you can convert classic cars to it easier. She closes her time with Alan as they talk about Tiger Woods crashing in a 2021 Genesis GV80, and how it protected him due to all the new safety features. As Alan is getting ready to take his final lap, Aviva David – Director of operations west coast for Smiles Through Cars, radios in with Josh Aryeh – Founder of Smiles Through Cars to share about the non-profit program that has people dressing up in superheroes costumes and driving exotic cars to go and visit sick children. They are in need of volunteers, people with exotic cars, as well as any donations that can and will make a huge difference for these children. Bringing up the rear and closing the show with Alan is Karl Brauer – Automotive Industry Analyst, Forbes Autos Contributor, NACTOY juror and board member. They talk about how gas has gone up, and how car companies are saying that the future in automobiles will be in electric cars. They discuss how Kia was hacked and is being extorted for 20 million dollars. The hackers want to be paid by bitcoin, so they can’t be easily tracked. All the while, Kia is gearing up to release their new vehicle, the Carnival MPV, which is basically a minivan but they don’t want to use that description because of the stigma associated with it.
