Don't forget to stop by JapanesePod101.com for more great Japanese Language Learning Resources! -------Lesson Dialog------- ----Formal ---- 運慶と快慶 奈良県にある東大寺・南大門に、その二体は立っています。 「筋骨隆々」ということばを想起させる体躯、こちらを睨みつけるつり上がった双眼、内側から発せられる気合いで揺れているような裳…国宝の「金剛力士立像」です。 高さ8.4m、この巨大な木像は、鎌倉時代に作られました。 門に向かって右側の、口を閉じている像を「吽形（うんぎょう）」と呼び、左側で口を開けて立っている像を「阿形（あぎょう）」と呼びます。 これらの像は、寺院内に仏敵が入り込むのを防ぐ「守護神」としての役割を担うだけあって、今にも動き出しそうな迫力。 この像の制作に携わった人物として有名なのが、「運慶」と「快慶」です。 二人が活躍する以前は、平面的で穏やかな雰囲気を漂わせる仏像が主流でしたが、「康慶」という仏師が立体的要素の強い、逞しい像を作り始めます。 この人物こそ、運慶の父であり、快慶の師匠。 才能溢れる二人の若手仏師は、切磋琢磨しながらのみを振るったことでしょう。 同じ師に学びながらも、運慶が「動」なら快慶は「静」と評価されるように、それぞれの作風が正反対なのも面白いところ。 今から約800年前に、しかもわずか二ヶ月という短期間で、圧倒的な存在感を持つ大作を完成させた二人には、どのようなドラマがあったのでしょうか。 一度見たら忘れられない強烈なインパクトの巨像は、様々な想像をもかき立てる彫刻です。 ----Formal Vowelled---- うんけい と かいけい 　ならけんにある とうだいじ/なんだいもんに、そのにたいは たっています。 「きんこつりゅうりゅう」という ことばを そうきさせるたいく、こちらを にらみつける つりあがった そうがん、うちがわから はっせられる きあいで ゆれているような も…こくほうの「こんごうりきし りゅうぞう」です。 　たかさ8.4m、このきょだいな もくぞうは、かまくらじだいに つくられました。 もんにむかって みぎがわの、くちをとじているぞうを 「うんぎょう」とよび、ひだりがわで くちをあけて たっているぞうを 「あぎょう」とよびます。 これらのぞうは、じいんないに ぶってきが はいりこむのをふせぐ 「しゅごしん」としてのやくわりを になうだけあって、いまにも うごきだしそうな はくりょく。 このぞうの せいさくに たずさわったじんぶつとして ゆうめいなのが、「うんけい」と「かいけい」です。 　ふたりが かつやくするいぜんは、へいめんてきで おだやかな ふんいきを ただよわせる ぶつぞうが しゅりゅうでしたが、「こうけい」という ぶっしが りったいてきようその つよい、たくましいぞうを つくりはじめます。 このじんぶつこそ、うんけいの ちちであり、かいけいの ししょう。 さいのうあふれる ふたりの わかてぶっしは、せっさたくま しながら のみを ふるった ことでしょう。 おなじしに まなびながらも、うんけいが「どう」なら かいけいは「せい」と ひょうかされるように、それぞれの さくふうが せいはんたいなのも おもしろいところ。 いまから やく800ねんまえに、しかも わずか にかげつという たんきかんで、あっとうてきな そんざいかんを もつ たいさくを かんせいさせた ふたりには、どのような ドラマが あったのでしょうか。 いちど みたら わすれられない きょうれつな インパクトの きょぞうは、さまざまな そうぞうをも かきたてるちょうこくです。 ----Formal Romanization---- Unkei to Kaikei Nara-ken ni aru Tōdai-ji, Nandaimon ni, sono ni-tai wa tatte imasu.
