Shay https://youtu.be/ZYWSqiu3dSY From the artist: Hello beautiful people! Here is my brand new music video “Chocolate”. The music video was filmed in a hotel room in Washington D.C. just days before the 2020 Corona Virus Lockdown. The room had beautiful dark red, brown and maroon dark textures, very similar to the vibe of the song and fitting perfectly with the Chocolatey vibe I was going for. https://youtu.be/t7Dhmmi68-0 From the artist: Hello world! Here is a brand new music video for my new song "Someone Else's Arms". This music video was filmed in Los Angeles at the Coast of San Pedro. While I wrote and produced this song, I could only put it in feelings as a "sense of drowning", this imagery then led the entire production, from the mix to how the artwork was made and what's more the song's abbreviated version is SEA. This location was perfect to capture my vision. When we got there, we decided to keep things relatively simple given how personal this song it to me and taking in account our relatively small set up. This song means the absolute world to me, read more about it on Rolling Stone, India.  Sail Cassady | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:38

Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways.Today on the show, artist Sail Cassady of British Columbia, Canada. We talk about his solo career, the influences behind the dark musical themes, and his background. Get to know this talented artist.Thank you for tuning in. Enjoy the show!Cheers!Shay  From the Artist It’s the same story we’ve all been through these last two years, the pandemic offered up more than ample time to look inwards and evaluate ourselves, our experience and our future. Wrapped in lush textures and poetry, Sail Cassady’s upcoming release ‘Old Green House’ looks back on the old places we used to live and the people we used to be with nostalgic self-understanding. Colin Craviero (Sail Cassady’s lead singer and songwriter) compared his old life to an aging house with rooms filled with memories and objects scattered across the floors, torn apart and abandoned to begin a new life. Even questioning who he was and how much of that person is still him today.Buried within the poetry is Craviero’s story of self-discovery, his battle with the faith he was raised in, and his acceptance of himself, his identity, and his demons still haunting those old walls. Building from the cathartic momentum Craviero experienced through this song, a beautiful music video has been created to accompany the song. It is a pastiche of memories told from the perspective of a trans man in a relationship with his love, in a place where this form of existence was not accepted. Combined with the music it holds to the light their love and power proving you can truly become who you wish you really were. And who you really are.Photo credits: Photoshoot: Hailey Krakana, Artwork: Colin Cravierohttps://youtu.be/kKsoG0GKq2s Facebook Spotify Youtube Soundcloud Bandcamp Instagram

 Art Napoleon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:04

Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways. Today on the show, Indigenous Americana artist Art Napoleon known for music infused with that spirit tingling Tribal Sound in both English and the ancient language of Cree. We spin his debut release “Avalene”, talk music & get to know this multi-talented performer, actor & independent artist. Thank you for tuning in tonight. Enjoy the show! Cheers! Shay From the Artist Art Napoleon has released his latest single “Avelene,” available on all streaming platforms on Friday, November 26. “Avalene” is a quirky, lyrically driven song about dysfunctional fatal attraction in rural Canada; an addictive small-town love affair that leads to regrets and realizations later in life. This gritty but upbeat lament is laced with catchy dobro, twangy baritone guitar and a trumpet section that kind of sneaks in from a side door. Fans of off-beat songwriters like Skip Taylor, Todd Snider, Ray Wylie Hubbard or Hayes Carll might want to give this a listen. The music video for the track also has been released on Art Napoleon’s YouTube channel. The video, produced by Luke Connor Visual, shows Avalene's youthful, fun and playful side. She shines like no other casino queen. Then later, she switches to show her own struggles and inner demons. “Avalene" was produced by Zak Cohen at Woodshop Studios and written by Art Napoleon, and features lead vocal and acoustic guitar performance by Art Napoleon, dobro by Scott Smith, bass by Martin Jones, drums by Taylor Album, electric guitars by Zak Cohen, trumpets by Miguelito Valdez, and harmonies by Martin Jones and Art Napoleon. From weather beaten backroads to large theatres and outdoor festivals, there are not many places veteran songwriter Art Napoleon hasn’t played. His previous music has fallen between the cracks of roots country, acoustic folk rock and his own unique tribal sound performed in the ancient Cree language. His albums have won awards, yet the songs have never reached commercial radio platforms due to his anti-colonial and cultural survival narratives not often found in country genres. As a result, he may be one of the best Indigenous songwriters you haven’t heard of. ABOUT ART NAPOLEON Art Napoleon is host and co-producer of APTN’s popular show Moosemeat & Marmalade, an international food series that showcases Indigenous foods, traditional knowledge and outdoor cooking techniques. This former chief is as comfortable on a big city stage or boardroom as he is skinning a moose in a hailstorm with a pocketknife. Art grew up in the boreal forests and mountains of Northern BC where he learned hunting, plant use and outdoor cooking. Art holds an MA in Language Revitalization from the University of Victoria, is an advocate of Indigenous food sovereignty and practices subsistence activities on a seasonal basis. Based in Victoria BC, Art remains connected to his home territory and his Cree and Dane Zaa roots. When he is not producing TV, writing songs or teaching Cree, he tours regularly as a performer and keynote speaker. His moose stew has been known to cure hangovers and his campfire tales have mended broken hearts…or so the stories go. https://youtu.be/ViklFte4gQs Facebook Twitter Youtube Link Link Instagram Previous Next

Shay Tracks: "Beneath The Willow Tree" "Spanish Ladies" "Slow Ships" From the Band Coffee House Anarchists might just change your mind. CHA is made up of two brothers who have been playing together ever since rock and roll first burst into their lives. They later decamped to the South of France from the UK with no real plan other than to conquer the world with their music. There the line up was completed by a French bass player who also liked the idea of leaving real employment. Since the fledgling beginnings CHA has moved from a guitar based indie group to one that has found maturity in a far more contemporary sound. CHA constantly seek to push their creative limits with each new recording. The music itself has an infectious feel that allows a strong lyrical and vocal identity to be combined with a heartfelt and melodic tapestry. To date the band has recorded 6 studio albums and 4 singles. Of course, if you’re still not convinced, just let the music do the talking… Source Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Link Spotify

So Dirty The Flamingos | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:48

Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways. Today in the show, Lionel Doe from Etobicoke, Canada band So Dirty The Flamingos. We discuss the band’s The Bloodroot Sessions album, spin a few tracks & talk music. The Bloodroot Sessions: “This is a record that came to be in all its juxtapositions–the love and the hate, the creation and the destruction, like the beautiful flower that sits in blood, “The Bloodroot Sessions” has bloomed, set to release in fall 2021. Local minded all. The band seeks unique (barbershops, record stores) and classic venues (Horseshoe Tavern, Junction City Music Hall) for its live performances. Watch out for these ones.” An incredible top-shelf Canadian band! Thank you for tuning in tonight. Enjoy the show! Cheers! Shay From the Band Est. 2018 Artist Bio In July of 2018, Lionel Doe set out to record what was to be a simple, acoustic, singersongwriter EP. The project was to be gritty and beautiful, and thus called “So Dirty the Flamingos”. At the same time, Lionel’s bandmate, bassist Adam Drury embarked on transforming the basement of his family home into a fully functioning recording studio and rehearsal space. They then enlisted Devin Jannetta, a workhorse drummer, and Scott Dunn, a Hammond organist with a long history of musical collaborations all over Toronto. And finally, Ciara Logar was asked to join as the backing vocalist to add to what was to be a signature sound. So Dirty the Flamingos was born, and at the same time, Sodipop Studio was record and rehearsal space ready. As the songs went to tape, Doe was inspired by the largesse of the sound that was being captured. The arrangements changed and grew, other musicians were brought in, and in the end, the self-titled So Dirty the Flamingos debut EP was a full-fledged Americana sonic boon, complete with pedal steel guitar (Steve Crosgrey), cello, (Mark Wang), a children’s choir, and cowboy gang vocals. It was at this time it was decided to release on vinyl format, as the material lent itself to it. ‘So Dirty the Flamingos’ was released officially on June 14th, 2019 at The Big Guy’s Little Coffee Shop, where the band’s formative business meetings were held. From there, they continue to play live shows throughout Toronto, in iconic places such as Junction City Music Hall, and the Horseshoe Tavern to smaller coffee and record shops. This indie roots rock quintet is cranking out songs straight from the heart and they are continuing to flourish. Their debut single, “Daughters” made it to the top 100 in the 2019 CBC Spotlight competition and was quickly followed by their second EP release single, “Before the Misfits” which heated up local radio with its selection as a featured artist pick. Their second EP, Unamerican Girl was released at the height on the pandemic in May 2020. As is their nature, So Dirty the Flamingos pushed through the uncertainty with grit and determination and are currently working on a third EP. This is a record that came to be in all its juxtapositions – the love and the hate, the creation and the destruction, like the beautiful flower that sits in blood, “The Bloodroot Sessions” has bloomed, set to release in fall 2021. Local minded all, the band seeks out unique (barbershops, record stores) and classic venues (Horseshoe Tavern, Junction City Music Hall) for its live performances. Watch out for these ones.  The Reed Effect | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:15

Hey, y’all. I am Shay. This is thebuzzr podcast. On air indie, from my pad to yours over the airways. Today in the show, Kirk Reed from Toronto rock band The Reed Effect. We discuss the band’s 1973 album, spin a few tracks & talk music. If Nirvana and The Doors had a love child, who was then raised in the desert taking hits of acid with Frank Zappa, you’d likely end up with a band that sounds as oddly unique as The Reed Effect.  Having been tapped as support for bands like Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, The Wild, Die Mannequin, and Busty and the Bass, The Reed Effect has been leaving their unique brand of rock lingering in the air of venues across Canada since day one. Thank you for tuning in tonight. Enjoy the show! Cheers! Shay From the Band If Nirvana and The Doors had a love child, who was then raised in the desert taking hits of acid with Frank Zappa, you’d likely end up with a band that sounds as oddly unique as The Reed Effect. Hailing from Toronto, and having spent the last several years proudly cutting their teeth in the best live music venues north of the border, The Reed Effect have been warping minds with their lyrics, shaking hips with their riffs and assaulting all five senses with an onslaught of progressively addictive rock hooks that pull from grunge, metal and blues. Having been tapped as support for bands like Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, The Wild, Die Mannequin, and Busty and the Bass, The Reed Effect has been leaving their unique brand of rock lingering in the air of venues across Canada since day one. Founding member and front man/guitarist Kirk Reed along with his brother Chris on bass and back up vocals are formidable. Their  new album , 1973, is set to be released in the fall of 2020.  The bar is set higher than ever, and the band has never been more proud of the heavy grooves they're about to unleash. 2020 has been a hard year on all of us, and The Reed Effect has definitely felt that pain. Chris Reed, bassist, vocalist, bandmate, friend and brother tragically took his own life on October 10th, 2020, just as the new music was about to be released. Being very close, Chris's death hit Kirk hard. But Kirk feels it is important to let the world hear this music - not just as a tribute to Chris and his legacy, but as a celebration of their collaboration and brotherly love. "Fine Here" is the first single from 1973. We miss and Love you Chris. The music you and Kirk worked on will be heard soon. The musical influences of the band stretch far and wide, and go right back to the early 20th century blues scene.
