ACAB Radio is a police accountability podcast that is broadcast LIVE every Tuesday on Facebook out of Las Vegas by 2 local activists from Food Not Bombs Las Vegas and Nevada Cop Block. We're your hosts: Kelly "Special K" Patterson and Jay Lyfer. We focus primarily on local, national, and global police news stories that make headlines every week. We also discuss issues surrounding the homeless crisis here in the US and abroad. We cover these topics because it's something that we are all very passionate about, but we do talk about other stuff too. We hope you all enjoy the show! If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work at www.patreon.com/acabradio Today's episode will feature Gail Sacco of Food Not Bombs Las Vegas as a special guest. Gail is very well known and respected within Las Vegas for her long-term involvement in Food Not Bombs. This includes the period in which the City of Las Vegas attempted to make it illegal to share food with hungry people in public. That unconstitutional law and the arrests and/or citations that resulted will be discussed. In addition, current attempts by government officials, both here and in other areas of the country to criminalize homelessness will be discussed. ...Cop runs over & kills 4yo on school sidewalk... https://abcnews.go.com/US/police-officer-missouri-hits-kills-year-walking-school/story?id=60217404 ...Cop found missing teen then raped and impregnated her... https://www.wbtv.com/2019/01/10/gaston-county-cop-found-missing-teen-then-raped-impregnated-her-now-family-is-suing/ ...CPD Officer in child pornography case sentenced to suspended 9 yr sentence, instead given only 90 days county time... https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/search-warrants-reveal-more-about-child-porn-investigation-into-former-cpd-officer/ ...Wisconsin Judge Eric Lundell let off the hook for DUI... https://kstp.com/news/wisconsin-st-croix-county-judge-not-arrested-blowing-over-legal-limit-asked-police-courtesy/5204756/ ...Blind, mentally ill man shot by police in Oregon... https://www.oregonlive.com/crime/2019/01/man-shot-by-portland-police-was-legally-blind-suffered-from-paranoid-schizophrenia-relatives-say.html ...Cop caught on video using his patrol car to repeatedly run over a poor little deer... https://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop-runs-over-deer-repeatedly/ ...Yellow Vest's "French Rocky"... https://thefreethoughtproject.com/pro-boxer-french-police-yellow-vests/ ...Man talks shit about police on Facebook and gets arrested... https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/07/us/politics/criminal-libel-laws-lawsuit.html ...Cop in a hurry to shoot a dog accidentally shoots other cop... https://www.wthitv.com/content/news/Indiana-police-officer-in-serious-condition-after-being-shot-in-the-back-by-another-officer--504066811.html Well we hope the audio is bearable.  ACAB Radio - Episode 29 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:57:29

If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work at www.patreon.com/acabradio Issues discussed on episode 29 of the ACAB Radio Las Vegas podcast include mistreatment and neglect within Nevada prisons and jails. Overcrowding and a lack of services have been created and compounded in recent years by the profit motive that has arisen in the prison industrial complex and private, for-profit prisons in particular. As a result of that and abuse by prison guards, numerous people have been killed or seriously injured in Nevada prisons and jails over the past few years. Another local story (which involved several people, including host Joey Lankowski, connected to the ACAB radio show) we discussed was an increase in harassment against the homeless and people who are trying to help them by the Las Vegas police and local politicians. A pretty constant stream of propaganda about how dangerous and harmful it is to share food with homeless people has been getting published by local media recently. In addition, those who have made efforts to personally distribute food and necessary items on a local street where many homeless congregate have been ticketed and even threatened with arrest by the LVMPD. Also, Metro has shot their 22nd person this year. Demontry Floytra Boyd, who was shot by Officer Paul Bruning on Dec. 1st, is the 12th person to be killed by LVMPD officers. And although few details have been released yet, this shooting that took place in the Downtown Las Vegas area already appears to have some questionable aspects to it. Other stories discussed included: a man who went to the police for help and ended up dying after being hogtied and tazered while already handcuffed inside a police car, the crash of a police helicopter flown by a pilot with a history of crashing aircraft, an incident in which a cop ran over a woman in his patrol car and admitted being distracted but his department tried to blame the woman because she had drugs in her system, sexual abuse of underage children within the explorer program by police officers, another police officer that was convicted of raping a woman while she was handcuffed being sentence to 90 days of jail, a cop who claimed he confused his gun for a taser, and much more.  ACAB Radio - Episode 28 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:15:30

We cover these topics because it's something that we are all very passionate about, but we do talk about other stuff too. We hope you all enjoy the show! If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work at www.patreon.com/acabradio Among other issues discussed on the 28th episode of the ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast include a recent incident in which police showed up to a high school to conduct a random drug search. They were extremely shocked and offended by posters about police brutality that were on the wall of the school. Those posters at Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School were part of an assignment on the Fourth and Fifth Amendments and not actually in any way related to the unwarranted (no pun intended) search the police were subjecting them to at the time. In another story, body cam footage was released of a shooting in which Milwaukee police claimed a man was armed. In reality, the video shows that Jerry Smith Jr. was not armed and was in fact following the commands of the cops at the time they shot him. In addition, for the second time in recent weeks a black man who acted as the proverbial "good guy with a gun" during a shooting has been killed by a bad apple with a gun. Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr. was legally armed and not involved in any way with a shooting that took place inside the Riverchase Galleria mall in Hoover, Alabama, on Thanksgiving night. In spite of that, he was immediately shot by a cop who was moonlighting as a security guard. Other topics include the resignation of the Broward Sheriff's Office Captain who was in charge of the response to the mass shooting at Parkland High School, immigration/border issues, sex crimes by cops, and police harassment of homeless people and those who want to help them.  ACAB Radio - Episode 27 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:10:05

ACAB Radio is a police accountability podcast that is broadcast LIVE every Tuesday on Facebook out of Las Vegas by 2 local activists from Food Not Bombs Las Vegas and Nevada Cop Block. We cover these topics because it's something that we are all very passionate about, but we do talk about other stuff too. We hope you all enjoy the show! If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work at www.patreon.com/acabradio In episode 27 of the ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast we discuss the changes in the original story of the mentally ill man that was shot by LVMPD officers at the end of October. Originally, it was reported that Lloyd Napouk, who was "armed" with a plastic stick, had been reported as carrying some sort of tool or a long stick. However, during the press conference where the body cam footage was released, it was stated that 911 callers had reported he had either a machete or slim jim in his hand. Those later discrepancies, as well as the emergence of claims that Napouk was attempting to break into cars, illustrate the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's tendency to change their official story, often multiple times. We also discussed updates to the recent story involving Derek Colling, who had been fired for excessive use of force in Las Vegas. In spite of that, he was hired as a Deputy by Albany County Sheriff Dave O'Malley in Laramie, Wyoming. It's now (that the election is over) been confirmed Colling was the deputy who shot Robbie Ramirez on Nov. 4th. This was the third person Colling has killed as a police officer. Aslo, in a bit of a throwback to his time at the LVMPD, "somehow Colling's body cam stopped recording right before he shot Ramirez. In addition, we discussed the recent shooting by police of a security guard who had stopped a mass shooter, the violent arrest of a man for using a counterfeit $20 bill that wasn't actually counterfeit, police seizing and pouring bleach on food a group had intended to share with needy people, and a incident in which cops in Denver shot a man over 50 times, who it actually turns out wasn't even the guy they were looking for. Plus discussions of censorship of independent media on FaceBook and other social media, experiences with Food Not Bombs in Las Vegas, and much more. She joined us Live from Chile via Skype to discuss some of her most recent articles. That includes US support for war crimes in Yemen and Syria, John Bolton's "Troika of Tyranny" speech and its effect on US foreign policy in Latin America, neo-cons such as Jair Bolsonaro recently being elected in Brazil and other countries. Whitney Webb is also a contributor to some other major independent media outlets you may have heard of like Zero Hedge, The Anti-Media., True Activist, Ben Swann's Truth In Media, and others. Her work has also appeared on the Centre for Research on Globalization, the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, and 21st Century Wire, among others. She's also been featured on radio and television for more mainstream outlets like RT and Sputnik. As always, we also had plenty of local issues with the police and politicians to talk about. In particular, we will discussed the LVMPD's recent murder of a man holding a piece of plastic. Also we discussed Kelly's most recent NVCopBlock article about an LVMPD cop who was fired for excessive force then rehired by another department. While working for that new department in Laramie, Wyoming, he has just killed an unarmed, mentally ill man, which is his third fatal shooting as a police officer. Discussion on this show concerned the recent censorship of independent media pages on Facebook and other social media outlets. ("Coincidentally" the original live broadcast was disconnected halfway through and had to be restarted as a separate video.) During that "Facebook Purge" the original versions of those pages John writes for along with over 800 other pages, mostly comprised of media organizations that reported news contradicting the government endorsed mainstream media narratives. Many of those pages, including The Free Thought Project, Police the Police, the AntiMedia, Filming Cops, and Cop Block, had millions of very loyal followers that they had spent years building up.  ACAB Radio - Episode 22 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:48

ACAB Radio is a police accountability podcast that is broadcast LIVE every Tuesday on Facebook out of Las Vegas by 2 local activists from Food Not Bombs Las Vegas and Nevada Cop Block. If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work... On Episode #22 of the ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast we discussed several national stories of police terrorism and crooked cops that went viral this past week as well as some local news stories within Las Vegas. First and foremost, we talked about the very Orwellian named "Police Fatality Public Fact Finding Review" that the LVMPD and Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson held for the murder of Tashii Brown. (It can be viewed its entirety here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=550081695444559 ) Anybody who has followed the case and/or listened to our shows knows that the this case and the kangaroo court they use to whitewash their exoneration of cops (every single time in the 100+ year history of Las Vegas) is a complete sham. Tashii Brown was an unarmed man, who was not even suspected of a crime. He was chased down, tasered repeatedly, assaulted, and then choked to death by Officer Kenneth Lopera on Mother's Day in 2017. We cover these topics because it's something that we are all very passionate about, but we do talk about other stuff too. We hope you all enjoy the show! If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work... As always, we had plenty to talk about on this episode of ACAB Radio. That, of course, included discussion of local issues with the police and politicians. First though, we talked about the murder of Botham Jean by Dallas Police Department Officer Amber Guyger. The more new information that comes out the more obvious it is that no real investigation was made of his killing. In fact, the more it seems that that "investigation" was geared toward smearing Jean and blaming the victim in order to clear Guyger of any responsibility for her murderous actions. (See related story: https://nvcopblock.org/174046/officer-amber-guygers-murder-botham-jean-good-cops-media-protect-bad-apple/ ) We also discussed the 2015 fatal shooting of Autumn Steele by Burlington Iowa Police Department Officer Jesse Hill. Steele was killed when Officer Hill tried to shoot her family's dog during a domestic dispute call. Hill claimed the dog was attacking him. However, the body cam video has finally been released and not only does the dog not appear to be attacking him, but Steele, her husband, and their young son were all standing close to the dog when Hill shot at it. The BPD fought tooth and nail to prevent that video from getting released publicly and it's pretty obvious now why. (See video: https://youtu.be/leKfVXDFlmw ) Once again we also reminded people about the LVMPD's actions on the behalf of Officer Kenneth Lopera, who murdered Tashii Brown at the Venetian last year (2017) on Mother's Day. It's been announced that there will be a public "fact finding" review held where they will attempt to justify District Attorney Steve Wolfson's decision to drop the charges against Lopera. That has since been rescheduled to September 24th.  ACAB Radio - Episode 20 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:49:00

We cover these topics because it's something that we are all very passionate about, but we do talk about other stuff too. We hope you all enjoy the show! If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work... As always, we'll have plenty to talk about on this episode of ACAB Radio. This week we will be discussing some of the local issues with police. First and foremost, Stephen Stubbs, a local lawyer and longtime friend of the show ( https://nvcopblock.org/tag/stephen-stubbs/ ), was actually arrested once again for refusing to leave his one of his clients. As was the case in 2013, he was again charged with obstruction. It'll obviously be interesting to see how this plays out. ( https://nvcopblock.org/1159/attorney-stephen-stubbs-arrested-defending-clients-5th-amendment-rights/ ) This will also include discussion of the recent spate of shootings by Las Vegas area police. As of today, Metro is now up to 19 shootings for the year and (when you include Henderson) there have been 10 shootings by the police within the past month alone, mostly in the last two weeks. Their latest shooting involved a situation in which the man they shot had taken a hostage while robbing a pawn shop. However the hostage escaped from the man and took his gun away. Regardless of that, the LVMPD officers still shot the man and then released a K-9 on him. In addition, we'll be discussing the case of a woman who was left to die in a jail cell in Reno. She sat in the cell for several hours after having died, even though one of the guards had already saw that she was dead and just left without rendering aid or even alerting someone. As well as commentary on several other news stories and videos that have "gone viral" nationally. Once again we'll also be reminding people about the LVMPD's actions on the behalf of Officer Kenneth Lopera, who murdered Tashii Brown at the Venetian last year on Mother's Day. It's been announced that there will be a public "fact finding" review held where they will attempt to justify District Attorney Steve Wolfson's decision to drop the charges against Lopera. Of course, they picked September 11th (next Wednesday) as the date for that Orwellian titled hearing to ensure people's attention will be elsewhere.  ACAB Radio - Episode 19 - With Ballentine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:34

If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work... As always, we have plenty to talk about on this episode of ACAB Radio. This week we have Ballentine, a longtime friend of the show, on as a guest. Back in August of 2013, Ballentine, along with ACAB Radio host Kelly W. Patterson and three other members of Nevada Cop Block (the "Sunset 5"), was arrested and charged with "graffitti" crimes for writing on public sidewalks with sidewalk chalk. We'll discuss chalk activism in general, as well as those retaliatory arrests, and the reasons why those protests were happening. Ballentine has since moved to Olympia, Washington. Among other things, we'll also discuss activism in the Northwest and the many differences between Vegas and Olympia. In addition, we'll obviously be discussing some of the local issues with police including the recent spate of shooting. Metro is now up to 18 shootings for the year and (when you include Henderson) there have been 8 shootings by the police within the past month, mostly in the last two weeks. We'll also have some updates on previous stories, including some videos that have "gone viral" nationally. Of course, they picked September 11th as the date for that Orwellian titled hearing to ensure people's attention will be elsewhere.  ACAB Radio - Episode 18 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:44:17

If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work... The #ACAB Radio Las Vegas Pirate Podcast Episode #18: On this show we discussed the LVMPD's refusal to comply with public records laws, even after they've been ordered to by judges. The latest example is the failure to release information on arrests for sex trafficking related offenses (while several members of their vice squad and the district attorney's office are currently being investigated by the FBI for involvement in sex trafficking and the protection of local pimps). Once again, we're reminding people about the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's actions on the behalf of Officer Kenneth Lopera, who murdered Tashii Brown at The Venetian Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip last year on Mother's Day. It's been announced that there will be a public "fact finding" review held where they will attempt to justify Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson's decision to drop the charges against Lopera. Of course, they picked September 11th as the date for that Orwellian titled hearing to ensure people's attention will be elsewhere. This video shows a Baltimore Police Department cop beating an unarmed and compliant man. (While a Good Cop watches and does nothing to stop it.) - https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/crime/bs-md-ci-police-incident-20180811-story.html Other topics include the tazing of an 87 year old woman in Georgia, use of "bait trucks" to entice people into committing crimes, an entire police department in Arizona that consists of cops who were fired by other departments (surprisingly one of them was busted recently with child porn on his computer), video of a cop intentionally ramming a man on a bike with his patrol car and much more. If you find value in our content please consider supporting our work... The #ACAB Radio Las Vegas Pirate Podcast Episode #17: On this show we discussed the use of a secretive grand jury proceeding to protect LVMPD Officer Kenneth Lopera from the charges he was facing for the 2017 videotaped murder of Tashii Brown, video of Steve Wolfson , the current Clark County District Attorney, and David Rodger, the former D.A. who quit to become the official lawyer for the Las Vegas police union (LVPPA), making bad justifications for it. Other local issues discussed include the LVMPD shooting of three people in the last two days. Also, the city and Metro harassing and trying to drive a local Elks Lodge, whose membership is made up primarily of African Americans, out of business. As well as, some of the blatant corruption that is taking place in and around the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. In addition, we discussed some recent videos outside of Las Vegas that have gone viral this week. Two of them involve hostage situations in which the police actually shot the hostages.
