ACAB Radio is a WEEKLY police accountability podcast hosted by Jay Lyfer & Kelly "Special K" Patterson. We are brought to you by Food Not Bombs Las Vegas and Nevada Cop Block. In the majority of this episode of ACAB Radio, King Ron, Jay Lyfer, and Kelly "Special K" Patterson discuss their recent attendance at a "Coffee With a Cop" event. However, there was no coffee and the cops were extremely reluctant to actually speak with us, in spite of the fact that the stated intent of the event is to speak with the public (while drinking complimentary coffee.) Apparently, this also was not even an official Coffee With a Cop event but rather a meet and greet with a politician in which cops were also invited to attend. In spite of those unusual circumstances, Joey did manage to get an interview with one of the officers as well as a Captain. Clips of that interview were played during the show. One of those clips included a comment by the officer that essentially indicated he would enforce unconstitutional laws if ordered to do so by the Justice Department. Also, a comment by the Captain about how great a record of accountability the LVMPD had sparked a discussion during the show about the real history of corruption and lack of accountability within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. This is the full debut show of the "ACAB Radio Las Vegas" Podcast, recorded on April 3, 2018. ACAB Radio is a WEEKLY police accountability podcast hosted by Jay Lyfer & Kelly "Special K" Patterson. We are brought to you by Food Not Bombs Las Vegas and Nevada Cop Block. Topics discussed included: The harassment and criminalization of homelessness/poverty. Food Not Bombs Las Vegas' efforts to oppose that and to support those in need (as well as the Food Not Bombs (Global) movement). The role that members of Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) play in that and other police related issues in Las Vegas and across the country. We also had a survivor of the Las Vegas Mass Shooting that took place on Oct.1st during the Route 91 Festival call into the show. He discussed his personal experiences, the response by the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and MGM Resorts International Corp. In relation to that, we also discussed the issues with and cover-ups during the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's investigation of Stephen paddock and the shooting. Many of those issues (and the other crimes and corruption within the LVMPD) are highlighted in Ramsey Denison's documentary, "What Happened In Vegas" which Las Vegas residents could see at the free film screening held at the Center for Science and Wonder on April 12th. Jeffery Epstein is dead, with multiple reports Saturday morning alleging that the disgraced financier committed suicide in his Manhattan jail cell. The 66-year-old Epstein’s death comes after the disgraced financier was arrested on multiple child sex trafficking charges. Fox News reports Epstein’s death was confirmed to the Associated Press by the Manhattan medical examiner's office. His attorney did not immediately offer confirmation following media requests. Epstein two weeks ago was placed on suicide watch after he was found injured in his jail cell. It’s never been explicitly confirmed whether the injuries were due to a suicide attempt or an attack. According to the New York Times, Epstein, who had strong ties to elite society, was indicted in July with sex trafficking girls as young as 14-years-old.
