 Episode 241: Steven Universe #27 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:03

GC13 and David discuss the twenty-seventh issue of the current comic book series. Steven and Connie are investigating, and more dream stuff is happening. Of course some of the Off-Colors are doing better than others. We continue to be rooting for Padparadscha facing (and handling so well!) a realization about herself, though we’re still not sure that’s what’s happening. What is definitely happening, though, is an interesting conversation in the next issue…

 Episode 240: Sibling Rivalry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:04

GC13 and David discuss the OK K.O.! episode Sibling Rivalry, the debut of Raymond and the origin of the term “pompadork”. While it might not actually be the most important episode to the lore of OK K.O.! (all jokes aside), it’s still a good look at the dark side of life at Boxmore. If life at Boxmore even has a bright side. It also has a “nothing but net” joke that may or may not have flown over our heads for a long time. Boom boom, shake the room.

 Episode 239: Wildernessa | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:41

GC13 and David discuss the episode Wildernessa from Craig of the Creek—a good episode that is named for a good character as well. Setting aside just what gave Cheesesticks the super size and strength necessary to give rides to children (seriously, he’s like a bear to them), he’s still the ideal companion animal for Wildernessa. Wildernessa is also the druid that the Creek deserves. Will Forever Mortimer ever become a reality though? We doubt it, but we dream on.

 Episode 238: We Messed Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 18:09

GC13 and David discuss We Messed Up, the OK K.O.! episode featuring the disappointment cannon and the first use of the vague flashback. The bodega knaves are pretty wascally, and while Mr. Gar is keen to get back to his office he’s not above a bit of distraction. Carol also takes things in stride, if for no other reason than to take a cute picture of her son. And to save him and his friends from their boss. Wow, they were really right to worry about disappointing Gar though. Seriously: don’t disappoint him.

 Episode 237: Fusion Frenzy #1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:05

GC13 and David discuss the five fusion stories contained within Fusion Frenzy #1. Awesome Stevonnie outfit? Check. Garnet backstory? Check. Smoky Quartz angst? Check. Opal? Check. Thoughtful discussions about Sugilite? Check. Comics are the one place where fusions can run free, never having to worry about royalty checks to their voice actresses, so we’re glad to have received Fusion Frenzy #1. Hopefully some day Fusion Frenzy stops being a one-shot and they make a Fusion Frenzy #2.

 Episode 236: Comic issue #26 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 21:36

GC13 and David discuss the twenty-sixth issue of the comic book series, continuing with the peril that Lars and his crew have found themselves in. There’s less Emerald than last time, and Parparadscha is mostly back to “normal”, but things are getting serious in other ways. There’s a strong guest appearance, and definitely a strong hook to next month’s issue. Maybe this run of issues will even go beyond three issues. Perhaps issue #27 will make their intentions known.

 Episode 235: The Final Book | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:11

GC13 and David discuss the Craig of the Creek episode The Final Book. Introducing more kids, some for the first time and some for the only time. Also the first appearance of the Trials of Trebulon. And alas poor “Fart” sticker, we never knew you. Also, “Justice Bro” is only slightly less generic than “Super Bro”.

 Episode 234: You're Everybody's Sidekick | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:51

GC13 and David discuss the OK K.O.! episode You’re Everybody’s Sidekick. Despite the art style still not being where it would later end up, and the characters still being in their early stages, it’s a great episode. We learn so much about the Plaza and are introduced to (and see again) some great plazoids. Who said you need a proper villain to have a good episode. All you need is a teenager with attitude, some magma/lava, and a mathematically perfect haircut. And a jar of pickles. Open it once or twice at your discretion.

 Episode 233: Comic issue #25 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:31

GC13 and David discuss the twenty-fifth issue of the comic book series, featuring Lars of the Stars and his Off Color crew. It has Captain Lars, it has Emerald, what more could you ask for? It even has something lots of you knew you wanted: Padparadscha being able to interact with others like an ordinary character! We don’t know what mess Captain Lars has found himself in yet, but we do know that the next two issues of the comic series will continue this space adventure!

Episode 232: Craig of the Creek | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:24

GC13 and David discuss Steven Universe alumni Matt Burnett’s and Ben Levin’s series, Craig of the Creek. These Steven Universe alumni can’t help but put story arcs into their shows. Will the creek be invaded by nefarious no-gooders? Can the vulture be tamed? As for potential crossovers between Steven Universe and Craig of the Creek, we’re lobbying for the Big Pinchy song to be featured in Steven Universe and for Greg to show up at the creek one day.

 Episode 231: OK K.O.!: Let's Be Heroes | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:27

GC13 and David discuss a show we’ll be covering a bit of while we wait for more Steven Universe: OK K.O.! The show has come a long way from back when it was just the Lakewood Plaza Turbo pilot, created around the same time as the Steven Universe pilot. It may have taken a while to be made, but at least it was! It can be very meta, but it also develops its characters well and keeps them in-use. Look forward to hearing more about Mr. Jones-Quartey’s show in the upcoming months!

 Episode 230: Comic issue #24 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:33

GC13 discusses the twenty-fourth issue of the current comic series. Now here’s an issue of the comic that would make for a good minisode: show us that grove in beautiful animated form, complete with a wonderful soundtrack. Also, surprisingly enough, maybe a time where keeping the fusions on the bench was for the best.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 229: Last call on Change Your Mind | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:27

GC13 and Isabelle discuss a few things that were missed about Change Your Mind the first time the episode was discussed. This is a time to discuss happier things, like the ending—wasn’t that sweet? Or Lars finally getting back to Sadie. Wasn’t it great to see him make it to her big Beach City concert after all? Of course there are less happy questions, like what broke Pink Pearl’s eye? Maybe a future Steven Universe series will answer that question, and give Nephrite her hair back.

 Episode 228: Change Your Mind | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:12:20

GC13, Isabelle, Sophia, and David discuss the 44-minute episode Change Your Mind. Wow. Just wow. The episode definitely feels like a series finale (though we have official word that more Steven Universe is on the way, even after the movie), and so it worked in a lot of stuff. If there’s anything to complain about, it’s that a single episode resolved plot threads that could easily have taken an entire season on their own. Still, that doesn’t stop the episode from being super impressive.

Episode 227: Predicting Change Your Mind | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:50

GC13, Isabelle, and David wonder what’s coming up in the hour-long special Change Your Mind. The trailer, while filled with what many would consider to be spoilers, actually doesn’t give us much to go on. It does what a great trailer does: greatly intrigues without giving much away. We can’t even be sure who’s going to change their mind by the end of the episode, but we have a couple of good guesses. You’re not going to want to miss Change Your Mind.
