Israel and the Palestinians have agreed to restart direct peace talks. What are the details of the agreement?

Aug 10th,2013 This portion begins with Moses instructing Israel on the office of the judge and how justice is to be achieved. It also describes three other positions within the nation of Israel: the king, the priest, and the prophet, with authorities and responsibilities defined for each office. What makes the portion stand out is that the Messiah fulfills all four offices at the same time; therefore, this is a powerful portion which actually defines the Messiah for us. A series of specific commandments are also delineated, including the more commonly known “life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot.”

Aug 10, 2013 This Torah Portion, "Shoftim" establishes a command that we, quite honestly, haven't been balanced with in the believing community.  It seems that the pendulum swings either to the far right or to the far left when faced with the issue of being able to "judge" within the house.  We can't be found in the category who consider it our whole purpose in life to point out the faults and the shortcomings of others ("Torah police"), yet fail to check the logs/beams in our own eyes. We see in the Torah portion this week, "Shofetim" that if a slain person is found in the field, and the killer is unknown, that a heifer should be slain for it. Yet, when we realize by rejecting YHVH's word, we're rejecting Him (Messiah) the One upon whose shoulder the Government of the world shall rest, the harsh reality becomes vivid! The mountains of Blessing and Curses sat upon the Valley of Shechem - Shoulder, and as Israel passed through, it is as if they shoulder the burden of Torah in affirmation! "Justice, justice you shall pursue..."   One law, not two.   Choose life!

News and commentary for Thursday, 8 August, 2013.   Once again, the "Public-Private Partnership" rears its ugly head.  And that's not all...  

With co-hosts Kimberly Rogers and Teresa Casalino We took another sidebar during our first hour to listen to Lee Miller discuss the pitfalls of translations.  In the spotlight was 1 Cor 14:34-35 which seems to contradict earlier verses clearly showing women in positions of authority; as elders, an apostle, deacons, teaching, and prophesying.  Is there a contradiction here?  Using the ‘school of textual criticism’, Lee showed how it behooves us to study and show ourselves approved (accredited) to know and teach His Word.  Were those verses original to the text or inserted later?  Where does the preponderance of the evidence lay?  Can we make doctrine from a single sentence and ignore the rest?   Another example is shown in Hebrews, 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.”  But where can we find the second portion of the verse in the Tanakh which reportedly indicates He saith “And let all the angels of God worship him.”?  If you’re like most people and have a bible translation based on the Masoretic Texts (MT) which includes “The L” – Leningrad Codex, your bible will not have this – but if you look into the Septuagint at Deut32:43, you WILL find this verse (see http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy+32%3A43&version=NLT) Please visit HODF.com and check out the archives for more detailed information under July 16, 2011. Is the Septuagint the only reliable source?  In a word, no; that’s why we are to ‘study’ to show ourselves approved comparing texts and finding reliable resources to strengthen our faith and know His Word. Israel is about to cross Jordan and then pass through the Mountains of Blessing and Curses - Gerazim & Ebal! Doesn't this look like the birthing process? The Waters are pierced (Jordan) and the womb is exited with Israel passing between the legs of Gerazim and Ebal! How fitting to find us again at the time of "JACOB'S TROUBLES" when the birth pangs are upon us!
