The answer to this question has eluded many people for centuries. But few have understood why Yahuwshuwa chose to fast in the wilderness for forty days leading up to his announcement of the “Acceptable Year of YaHuWaH” in Luke 4:19.  In the Towrah, the sixth Hebrew month of (Elul) is the time when Mosheh (Moses) went to Mount Sinai to prepare the second set of tablets after the incident of the golden calf (Exodus 32; 34:27-28). He ascended on “Rosh Chodesh Elul” and descended on the 10th day of the 7th month of Tishri, at the end of Yom Kippur, when repentance was complete. Elul is the beginning of a period of 40 days where Mosheh prayed for YaHuWaH to forgive the people after the golden calf incident, after which the commandment to prepare the second set of tablets was given. Could this be the reason why our Messiah fasted during these same forty days? Could it be that he was also preparing to present the very same commandments that would be written upon the heart of the bride for Yom Kippur? Today is the 42nd anniversary of one of the biggest double-crosses in Amerikan history (and that's saying a LOT, given the double-think and whoppers being peddled in the Greater Babylon Metro Area TODAY!) And the Torah portion for this week, Ki Tetse (basically Deuteronomy chapters 21 through 25) fits that theme perfectly, too - since it is one of the most politically UN-correct in Scripture.   The fact that this is so tells us much of what we need to know.  Mark addresses a veritable "potpourri" of related topics this week in an information-packed show.          

Though hidden from the casual observer, this month of Elul reveals the test of our resolve to become the Bride of Messiah. All of us look forward to the 7th month and their festivals, but, frankly, we will never see their fulfillment without the purging this season affords. Testing isn't pleasant on the flesh, but, it is exhilarating to the Spirit Man as we're conformed into His image. Shall we stand together and see the Salvation - Yahshua - of YHVH? Many have sought to understand what it means to belong to the nation of Yisra’el. Some people think it merely means that you are a citizen geographically to the Modern State of Yisra’el. Some people think it means that you are born into a family who practices Judaism. Many people confuse the term “Yisraelite” with the term “Jew” and they suppose that these terms are to be used interchangeably. Some people think that you have to have a DNA test done to see if you carry certain genetic markers, and that is what determines if you are an Yisraelite or a Jew. So what qualifies someone as a “true Yisraelite?” Is it based on physical DNA or is it based on faith? The fig tree has been used as a metaphor to symbolize those who are true Yisraelites in the eyes of the Heavenly Father. The first mention of the fig tree as a prophetic illustration of the nation of Yisra’el, is seen in Shophtiym (Judges) 9:9-11. News and commentary for 15 August, 2013. A very interesting anniversary, indeed - and the news today makes the point!  

With co-hosts Kimberly Rogers and Teresa Casalino   Our guests for this show were Lee Miller and Christina England.  Lee Miller continued the series on “Women in the Assembly, Then and Now”.  We discussed just a little bit more about the importance of textual criticism.  One of the questions Lee received over the week was “Is the bible enough?”  The short answer is no.  The reason is because there is no single bible that is an accurate, direct and complete translation of all the original sources.   So we need to search and compare and verify them against each other as well as dig into other resources to get clarification. So even though the Septuagint is not a direct translation, yet it was readily available at the time of Yeshua’s walk with His disciples in addition to original Hebrew scrolls.  While they had the original and a Greek rendition they STILL searched the scriptures.  How much more should we being 3 times removed from the original?! Lee spoke of the process of rendering understanding and coming to a consensus within an assembly; voicing the question or concern, providing all the evidence for the case (by everyone in the assembly), drawing a conclusion and then rendering an ‘understanding’.  This then becomes the understanding for the entire assembly unless more evidence is forth coming and the case weight is changed.  For those who disagree, unless they have more evidence to the contrary, they should keep their opinions to themselves, otherwise they are causing discord. Our second guest SKYPED with us from Great Britain.  Christina England has been writing about vaccinations since 2008.  This is a subject very close to her heart because both of her adopted boys (now grown men) were disabled due to vaccination damage termed among other things as “Global Development Delay”.  When Christina adopted her boys, then 4 and 3, she purposely determined to adopt disabled children as a single parent. Christina began to raise questions and concerns and was threatened with the removal of her children and also accused of having Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.  What she came to discover regarding vaccinations, infertility, autism, Agenda 21 and much, much more began her fight for the injustice and gross negligence being perpetrated on people being used as guinea pigs.  The vaccination industry and its partners have little fear of recrimination or responsibility since they are Big Business. Christina has many articles to her credit and also appears as a witness on behalf of parents on trial for ‘shaken baby syndrome’ (SBS).  She’s noted a connection that when some babies receive their vaccinations, they present symptoms of brain hemorrhage, which can easily be diagnosed as SBS or TBI. The month of Elul - the 6th month - teaches us to search our soul, to circumcise the flesh, as we prepare ourselves for the Wedding Ceremony of Tabernacles! In order to become a spotless Bride, we must wash with the water of His Word and it is during this season (our wilderness encounter) that we are tried: To see whether we will serve YHVH or not. Those who exit the wilderness will arrive at Sukkot in the power of the Ruach - Spirit! The King is coming for His Bride! Make straight the way of Messiah! Stay tuned Torah fans...
