Be the first to say hello. Lead with a smile. Don't apologize for who you are. Know that you are here for a reason and pursue that purpose. Speak up, always. For yourself. For how you feel. To yourself about how you feel. For others. For what is right. For what you want. For your needs and desires. Push the limits. Stretch your beliefs. Always think bigger. Believe in yourself beyond what seems normal. Speak up and always ask for more. Expect the best. Anticipate a terrific adventure. Work hard and be proud of yourself for your committed ethic. Love people extravagantly.  Be proactively kind Remember that people need your love Recharge your love by plugging into God daily as a source Love does and wins; the answer is always: love everyone, always. To love others you must love yourself. Shine, baby, shine.  Pursue your interests, unashamedly. Laughter is a gift of yourself to yourself and to the world Have an internal sense of self worth and self-respect Remember that other peoples actions and opinions aren't your responsibility Control what you can control (you) Have clear goals and embrace risk and failure Do one thing every day that scares you Never settle for less than you deserve, but always be grateful for what you have and for doing your best Most people are more insecure than you think: love on them. Build them up. AN INSIDE LOOK TO HOW I AM PARENTING THESE SECRETS INTO MY DAUGHTER'S LIFE We have conversations around failure. We are a household that celebrates humility and forgiveness. We wrote out our family values. We encourage adventure. We open up space for a voice to be heard - even our 1-year-olds and our dog's. We do not tolerate limited thinking - we challenge out of the box thinking. We lead by example - we do things that scare us and talk about them. We make all emotions okay to talk about. We do family gratitude sessions before we pray together. We talk a lot about the need for love in this world.

#289: HOW TO BE HAPPY WITH WHERE YOU ARE ON YOUR JOURNEY | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:28

PODCAST #289: HOW TO BE HAPPY WITH WHERE YOU ARE ON YOUR JOURNEY In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we're chatting about: How to stop comparing yourself to where you think you should be Putting yourself in triage for support from being a self-abuser (disguised as "just being hard on yourself" or as "having high expectations" Figuring out what you really want in life and what will fill you with happiness (and how to get it)  This podcast is sponsored in part today by my newest program, The Donut Diet.  It’s time to stand up to the bully of shame around food and around your body in your life and to taste the sweetness that life (and food) have to offer!  The Donut Diet is only available for a few weeks, so if you are ready to be done with emotional eating, then get started now at www.thedonutdiet.com HOW TO STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO WHERE YOU THINK YOU SHOULD BE Challenge your preexisting definitions of success Get clarity on what you really want in life Perspective shift to a larger lens Ask yourself what really matters Know that you are enough, right now, today, because God says you are RACE REPORT FROM THE CHICAGO MARATHON Guidance goals Victory lap Forward is a pace The mind can do immeasurably more than we think it can No one cares My moment of self-betrayal (of turning my back on my pre-programmed self-abuse) PUTTING YOURSELF IN TRIAGE FOR SELF-ABUSE Being a jerk to yourself needs to come to a stop at some point. Does it really serve you? What are you getting from it? (False sense of effort or control?, Blame? Excuses? Pain? Distraction?) "I'm just hard on myself" or "I have high expectations" aren't justifiable anymore if you want to live a happy and fulfilled life of meaning Abuse is never okay - so why it is okay to do to yourself? FIGURING OUT WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE - AND GOING AFTER IT My life shifted when I realized I wanted meaning and happiness more than I wanted applause and praise. That said, I am continually reevaluating my goals with money and my business to stay in alignment with what I know I really want because it is easy to get pulled away and to chase some arbitrary measurement of "success". Success is a feeling; a decision you make for yourself, not a measurement or evaluation given to you by someone else. SUCCESS ISN'T ALWAYS MEASURABLE Give yourself permission to redefine what success really feels like What do your best days feel like? What matters to you? Success for me is often the opposite of what I originally thought it to be. -It's kicking the status quo. -It's being unapologetic for my truth and beliefs, for my love of the Lord -It's being ridiculously me -It's sitting with a book and laughing with loved ones, being present -It's finding words to describe my feelings and thoughts -It's having freedom - time, financial, body, self-expression PRACTICE SEEING YOURSELF AS SUCCESSFUL Give yourself opportunity to be uncomfortable Keep a champagne moments journal Expect the best, not to be confused with having high-expectations Push yourself to believe that life is beautiful, and to live it beautifully ANNOUNCEMENTS: MOMBOSS MASTERMIND  My high-level mastermind for motivated mombosses is now open!  I am limiting the group to 8 people and it will be an application process only. Applications are now available atwww.trishblackwell.com/mastermind.  #286: WHY EMOTIONAL EATING HAPPENS AND HOW TO STOP IT | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:15

PODCAST #286 WHY EMOTIONL EATING HAPPENS AND HOW TO STOP IT     In this podcast we're chatting about:   What binge eating is and why it happens, and my personal story with it.  How to step out of shame and into strength with your eating habits Three next-steps to help you be free from the unpredictable tyranny of food           PARTNERSHIP WITH BEAUTYCOUNTER   You are beautiful, and you are mindful about your health and wellness in so many areas of your life already, right? Like with working out and with what you eat? So, isn't it time that you consider the importance of the ingredients in the products you use for your personal care and cosmetics too?  That's why I'm obsessed with Beautycounter; Beautycounter has the strictest standards of safety in the industry and it is a company for good that does good.  Get your own Beautycounter products at beautycounter.com/trishblackwell.  If you have been looking for a way to make an income and an impact at the same time, then you might have just found what you are looking for with Beautycounter. Message me and let's chat about how I could personally mentor you to grow a Beautycounter business of your own.           MY STORY:   Binge eating starting in high school; result of extremely restrictive diet and out of frustration over body changing and athletic performance declining. I felt and experienced silencing shame and self-hatred as a result of my binges. Certain seasons of my relationship with food could be classified as binging, certain as emotional eating; both seasons carried deep shame and isolation / fear. These patterns made me feel unworthy, ugly - inside and out, and small. Freedom from therapy, prayer, and the final decision to take a chance on creating new patterns. I faced my real fears and gave myself permission to be seen - not for how I perform, but for who I am. Sometimes that still feels scary, but I have learned that if you lean into the fear, the fear becomes quieter and you become stronger in who you are. I had to learn that I didn't need to be bound by shame, and that my eating habits weren't embarrassing or "bad" ... I had to rework my entire approach and view of food and of my body. You can read more about that journey of transformation in my book The Skinny, Sexy Mind.       WHAT IS BINGE EATING VS. EMOTIONAL EATING:   What's the difference between binge eating and emotional eating?   Binge eating: the consumption of large quantities of food in a short period of time. Emotional eating: using food to make yourself feel better; eating to satisfy emotional needs instead of to satisfy hunger   An invisible illness - a secret shame. But really, it's not bad - it's just a red flag that change needs to happen. Impacts MILLIONS of people; 30 million in the US alone with eating disorders. It is estimated that 5 million women and 3 million men suffer with binging.       National Eating Disorders Association: https://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/blog/beyond-hunger-struggling-binge-eating-disorder   We need to get the word out that binge eating disorder is a real eating disorder that does not materialize from one’s lack of will power. BED is a psychological disorder and getting appropriate treatment is key to recovering. Early intervention is important for increasing the probability of a successful recovery. If you recognize the following warning signs in yourself or a loved one,

#285: HOW TO STOP USING PROCRASTINATION AS AN EXCUSE | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:40

PODCAST #285 HOW TO STOP USING PROCRASTINATION AS AN EXCUSE In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we're chatting about: How to stop procrastinating A flip of the lens on how to look at your time management Strategies on how to stop lying to yourself about your motivation and follow-through  PARTNERSHIP WITH BEAUTYCOUNTER You are beautiful, and you are mindful about your health and wellness in so many areas of your life already, right? HOW TO STOP PROCRASTINATING: To stop using procrastination as an excuse we have to first understand why we procrastinate in the first place. Some of the reasons why we procrastinate: Lack of structure. Time scarcity. Mismanagement of priorities. Laziness. Avoidance of unpleasant tasks. Anxiety and worthiness misconceptions. Confidence of capability. We create our our pressures. The lie of time. The Tetris effect - putting our focus on why we can't do something perpetuates the limitation that we have falsely created Procrastination is not your safety net. It will not keep you safe, so stop pretending that it will. TIME MANAGEMENT TRICKS TO MINIMIZE PROCRASTINATION Time allocation exercise. How will you spend your 24 hours? What does an ideal day actually look like for you? Use your timer on your watch to set time limits to your activities and to your to-do list. The things we have to do expand or contract into the amount of time we allot for them, so remember that you are in control of your time; time is not in control of you! HOW TO FOLLOW THROUGH MORE AND PROCRASTINATE LESS: Get fired up - have purpose Stop selling yourself short. Refuse to play small. Recognize that procrastination is actually selfish. Don't be a jerk to the world. Know what you actually want. Delegate what you are putting off, or put on your britches and just get it done. Stop overthinking - don't create mountains that aren't there. Remember these things: You have more than enough time. You can do hard things. You aren't suffering as much as you think you are. MOMBOSS MASTERMIND  I’m unofficially starting to launch a high-level mastermind for motivated mombosses.  I am limiting the group to 8 people and it will be an application process only.  We will be starting late Fall or early 2019, but I will be taking applications starting in September, so if you are interested in applying, email me at trish@trishblackwell.com.   The mastermind will include individual and group coaching, online as well as in person, with the goal to help you double your revenue and double your free time at the same time so that you can be both a better, more present mom and a better, more productive entrepreneur.  I’m already dreaming about what the retreat weekends are going to look like for us and can’t wait to make this happen – it will be lifestyle changing and business changing!  Qualifications: you must have clear revenue busine...

Simplify your thinking / Know when you're overthinking. Get the right tribe. / Surround yourself with good people. Stop apologizing. Remember that no-one really cares. You can't please everyone, so stop wasting your energy trying. Practicing putting yourself out there and being your true self. Do one thing every day that scares you. Accept help (seek coaching, therapy, books) 10.Be your own friend / learn to like yourself THE POWER BEHIND BEING YOU Be you, be free. There's a reason why that's my tagline. I spent years not being fully me - out of fear, and it kept me sidelined. Sound of Music mountaintop freedom - how do you make your hills alive? HOW TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BE YOU -Identify exactly who and what are holding you back -What story do you tell yourself that people say about you or will say about you? -Identify what makes your heart sing -Respect that we all have different opinions -Realize that people are thinking less about you than you think they are -Be someone who consistently contributes (kindness, helpfulness, compliments, encouragement, etc.) -Living by other people's expectations will leave you empty -If it's important to you why does it matter what anyone else thinks -Figure out who you are - who the 4th bucket it - and then do what you need to do to fill that bucket. Filling the bucket of other people's expectations is like filling a bottomless bucket - never ending. -Control what you can (which is never the opinions of others!) -Stop expecting to get what you need from people who can't give it to you (affirmation, etc.) MOMBOSS MASTERMIND  I’m unofficially starting to launch a high-level mastermind for motivated mombosses. Qualifications: you must have clear revenue business goals,

The secret to not getting sucked into comparison and doubt ... or, in other words, how to really buy into this truth that you are growing and that that can fuel you with confidence QUOTES ON SELF BELIEF: “Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart “Life is too short to waste any amount of time on wondering what other people think about you. In the first place, if they had better things going on in their lives, they wouldn't have the time to sit around and talk about you. What's important to me is not others' opinions of me, but what's important to me is my opinion of myself.” ― C. JoyBell C. “The person in life that you will always be with the most, is yourself. Because even when you are with others, you are still with yourself, too! When you wake up in the morning, you are with yourself, laying in bed at night you are with yourself, walking down the street in the sunlight you are with yourself. What kind of person do you want to walk down the street with? What kind of person do you want to wake up in the morning with? What kind of person do you want to see at the end of the day before you fall asleep? Because that person is yourself, and it's your responsibility to be that person you want to be with. I know I want to spend my life with a person who knows how to let things go, who's not full of hate, who's able to smile and be carefree. So that's who I have to be.” ― C. JoyBell C. “Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.” ― David J. Schwartz, The Magic of Thinking Big HOW TO HAVE LESS SELF-DOUBT AND MORE SELF-BELIEF What are the Doubt Messages You Hear? Where Do You Stand? / What Do You Know to Be True / What Will You Decide to Be True? What Do You Really Want and How Bad Do You Want It? Why Are You Really Playing Small? -fear of success -fear of change -fear of what someone might think -fear of "they" being right What Do You Really Have to Lose? HAPPINESS HABITS THAT PROMOTE SELF-BELIEF Segmenting life by 2-4 minute increments. Listing out your happiness habits. (dancing, gratitude, stretching, making the bed, laughing, fresh air, pretty pens, organized scheduler, headbands, making time for makeup, reading) Decluttering your life > Less TV, more books. Less stuff, more joy.  Less comparison, more being present.  Less to-dos, more being. Less productivity, more prioritization. HOW TO HAVE CONFIDENCE / BELIEF IN WHERE YOU ARE GOING Confident people aren't confident because of who they are, but rather, they are confident because of who they are becoming. Belief Must Be Grounded and Grown -Gardening Example -Prep the soil -Shade and sunshine -Work the field -Be patient in each season -Plant what you want to grow -Pride in your own harvest / not looking at the harvest of others -Community sharing - sharing harvests What are You Willing to Believe is Possible?

#281: HOW TO BELIEVE THAT WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO MATTERS | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:14

HOW TO BELIEVE THAT WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO MATTERS PODCAST #281 In this week's episode of #TheConfidencePodcast we're chatting about: Silencing self-doubt and the fear that you're "not enough" or that you're not doing enough How to unravel the spiral of emotions that got you to a place of self-doubt or "not enough" in the first place One simple, very easy way to find freedom and fuel up your confidence  SPONSORSHIP NOTE: In light of the impact that making a dive into entrepreneurship can make, this month I am hosting a special mentorship offer for anyone who decides to turn their passion into profit by joining arms with me and Beautycounter.  If you are passionate about the environment, about beauty, about health and about demanding for better regulation about product safety laws, then Beautycounter has been waiting for your voice. This offer is for my go-getters, my action takers, my hustlers who want more and are ready to do it ... shoot me an email at trish@trishblackwell.com WHY DO WE NOT BELIEVE WE HAVE VALUE IN THE FIRST PLACE? I think we lose sight of our value for multiple reasons: comparison overwhelm purposelessness / underwhelm HOW IS IT THAT WE CAN SO EASILY FORGET WHAT REALLY MATTERS IN LIFE? We get distracted. We forget to prioritize what matters. We lose ourselves in comparison. How do I fight these things? I work at it. I work at simplification. I work at slowing down. I work at filling the buckets that matter to me every day. God / my soul Brandon / my Marriage Ellie and Baker / my children Me / my Health (physical, emotional, intellectual, social) Others / my business, my neighbors, etc. Said another way I ask myself -Did I fill my soul today? -Did I fail today? -Did I grow today? -Did I learn today? -Did I show up today? -Did I laugh today? -Did I love today? Said yet another way - Did I learn, did I love? Said yet another way - Did I read a book? Did I spend time with God / worship / give thanks? Did I write? Did I laugh and love with my children? Did I spend quality time with my husband? Did I engage my creativity and heart in my business? Did I help others or encourage anyone? Boiled down, for me it's really: loving and learning. I wasted years doing what didn't matter; I want to live differently. I want to live in such a way that is a terrific adventure. A life that makes a difference. A freed soul. Here's what I know: love is all that matters. Live and lead with love - in your personal life, in your business, in your fitness / health pursuits, in your relationships, etc ... in everything, and you will never feel unfulfilled. Love never runs out, it multiples. TO BELIEVE THAT YOU REALLY MATTER, I SUGGEST THAT YOU GO BACK TO WHAT REALLY MATTERS: LOVE. You were created in love, by a being who is love, and for love. Our hearts are filled when we spread love; when we walk in our calling / when we show up as our best selves and we shine light into the places and lives in this world that need hope and encouragement. So, you don't matter because of what you do, who you were born to, where you live, what you have accomplished,

This offer is for my go-getters, my action takers, my hustlers who want more and are ready to do it ... shoot me an email at trish@trishblackwell.com QUOTES ON LONELINESS: Loneliness is the poverty of self; solitude is the richness of self. (May Sarton) Negative emotions like loneliness, envy, and guilt have an important role to play in a happy life; they're big, flashing signs that something needs to change. (Gretchen Rubin) We have all known the long loneliness, and we have found that the answer is community. (Dorothy Day) FIRST, UNDERSTAND WHY WE GET LONELY IN THE FIRST PLACE This can be multifaceted. 1). No one "gets" our vision 2). We work alone or we lead others and don't feel like we have peers. 3). Leadership and pouring into a dream can be emotionally exhausting (we need to recharge with more intentionality than most people) SECOND, KNOW WHAT LONELINESS DOES TO YOU  For everyone it's a little different, but some of the ways loneliness expresses itself negatively is: -Lack of motivation -Procrastination -Isolation -Loss of passion -Feelings of inadequacy -Boredom -Feelings of overwhelm or underwhelm -Self-induced pity-parties (no one works as hard as me, I'm the only one who doesn't get this, etc. / pity self-isolates) FINALLY, BE PROACTIVE ABOUT FIGHTING LONELY VIBES Don't be embarrassed that you're lonely. It's a natural human experience. Take action on what you can do and know that in doing so, you are better equipping yourself to thrive through your work. Get out and connect with others. Outsource and delegate when and where you can. Work in public spaces. Create real relationships online. Invest in deep relationships in person. Get involved in a mastermind. Hire a coach. Share your dreams and wins/whoas with your partner. Know your WHY to why you do what you do. Focus on the people you are positively impacting, even if you can't see them. Every number is a name and every name has a story. Read and connect with stories that spark your imagination and your drive (both fiction and non-fiction) Be a good neighbor. Focus on real connection. Focus on slowing down and creating margin. Focus on abundance. ANNOUNCEMENTS: We all need community. We all need a coach. We all need to be pushed and held accountable to keep showing up as our best version of ourselves, and well,
