 TKAM #769 Life's Too Short | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5413

12.1.17 If you live everyday like it’s a Friday and the weekend will feel sweeter. #AffirmationFriday TK and Conscious begin the show by recapping from Wednesday (Ep 768) when we had our guest Mary Pryor talking to us about cannabis and crypto coin. We also get some early affirmations and a bit of awareness on the western gaze and how America dominates everyday narratives. Also, The Big Bang Theory is a terrible show. In #NewsYouCanUse: What’s shaking, New York?: An earthquake struck the east coast yesterday and some felt it, some didn’t. Update on the Matt Lauer accusations: he had a supervillain button under his desk to lock the door and a troll is defending him. Update on the Russell Simmons accusations: he is stepping down from his companies and releasing an apology statement. The Emperor of Japan is leaving the throne. While some Americans believe that “Clean Coal” is a thing, Elon Musk delivers a green power source to Australia. During #ChatroomCheckin, we shout out our listeners and get their opinions on the news stories. Your opinion matters, we’re not Fox News. TK and Conscious navigate the rest of the show by talking about an article on the “11 Totally BS Things Life is Too Short For” Life is too short for so much BS. Live, go out, enjoy the little things. An emperor literally left his throne as a senior citizen to do this. You can do this too. We all can. #AffirmationFriday ---RUNDOWN--- 0:00 #SONG: Quelle Chris - Buddies 3:55 Intro: Recap of Wednesday show, crypto and cannabis; the talk about the Western view; early affirmations 18:32 #SONG: Kanye West - Touch the Sky ft. Mondays can be nice. If you can get up and something keeps you going, then you’re already winning. #MondayMotivation We’re not an economics podcast. Butttt we might be a we might be a crypto-economics podcast at this point. Why not? Conscious has a happy money situation, and TK is getting her power lunch. In #NewsYouCanUse: Earle Hyman, Grandpa Huxtable in the Cosby Show and voice of Panthro in Thundercats has passed away. RIP. Cult leader and convincing speaker, Charles Manson is dead too. We won’t miss him. A while back, Terry Crews came forward on the agent who groped him. Russell Simmons, thinks he should give his perpetrator have a pass. Lena Dunham outed for her hipster racism, but it gets worse: she’s defending the producer who allegedly sexually assaulted a staff member.+++++++++++++++++++ During #ChatroomCheckin, we try to bring you out of the downwards spiral that the news threw us in. On bright celebrity news, the amazing Serena Williams got married over the weekend, and Beyonce showed up at the wedding! We also get to your motivations. Stand up for what is right, live in the now, and be firm to what you need. TK and Conscious end the show on a discussion. What do you say to someone in a crisis, other than “I know how you feel”? How can we be there for people without making it about us? What is empathy vs. sympathy? If someone is feeling bad, be there for them. Not for you, for them. Help, listen, and don’t push things. And don’t tell them that you know how they feel. #MondayMotivation Love TK &Cons? Gemz reminds us that there’s always something to enjoy. The conversation continues once Melanie Charles gets here, getting all the way to the deep end, with faith, buddhism, and life. We spent a good amount of time trying to find out who she is, how she started, and what the art means to her. She’s a talented young woman with lots of wisdom to share.  TKAM #756 Halloween 2017 #airoutWednesday | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5673

11.1.2017 Yesterday was halloween. It’s not like 2017 hasn’t been scary enough as it is. Apocalyptic weather disasters, people doing crazy things, a giant ten year old orange is president, and people think Justin Bieber can sing in Spanish. The year is still not over, let us help you get some anger out of you, just so we can keep going through this nightmare. #AirOutWednesday TK and Conscious begin the show with their halloween stories. TK was ready for trick ’r treaters of all ages, because life is tough, let them be kids! Conscious does share his fear of ouija boards after TK tells him about the couple dressed as one. Seriously though, don’t mess with them. Our hosts might argue over what Netflix shows they’ll watch, but they can both agree that Donald Trump Jr. is a b*** for using his daughter to promote the wrong idea behind socialism. Dude, halloween has always been a socialist holiday, and that’s good. In #NewsYouCanUse: Manafort and Gates, who are close to 45, are crooked and tied to Russia. Who knew except everyone who can read? Tragedy in Manhattan: a man killed 8 people with a truck. NPR’s Head of News placed on leave after being accused of sexual harrassment Police in Louisiana don’t give a man a lawyer, because technically he said he needed a “lawyer, dawg” A girl poisoned her roommate in gross ways, and the actions were racially motivated Of course, there’s always room for our listeners in the chatroom. Your voice and opinion is needed, the more the ideas, the better. Finally, Conscious sees us out by announcing his big purge of 2018... Yesterday was Halloween, and today is Day of the Dead. If you believe in the afterlife, celebrate those who you think are out there. If you know how to communicate with them, let them air out too. #AirOutWednesday TK in the AM is a proud sponsor of the Free Africans All the Sports League Program (FAASLP) http://geturshirt.storenvy.com/products/21965252-f-a-a-t-s-l-p-unisex-t-shirt (See ep #752) @TKinTheAM is live every M-W-F 10-1130am EST on bondfireradio.com and tunein app. Same day replays 7pm EST also available on Apple Podcasts, GooglePlay Music, mixcloud, and Spreaker! ---RUNDOWN--- 0:00 SONG: Illa J - Home 3:51 #Intro: Halloween stories; let the big kids trick ’r treat.  TKAM #755 Be My Friend? #MotivationMonday | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5390

10.30.2017 Mondays are for motivation for a reason. They keep us going, help us get back in the office, and give us the faint glimmer of hope that the weekend and all its freedom are in the horizon. Fall is finally here though, enjoy the rain, enjoy the chill. #MotivationMonday TK is back from the Giant Steps conference in Minnesota with motivational stories. Shoutout to all the young people present at the conference who are dedicated to starting their own change. Conscious is already on day 30 of his #fasting for freedom and may even continue it into November. Plus, some early motivations from our listeners. In #NewsYouCanUse: Kevin Spacey allegedly assaulted a then 14 year old boy. His defense? Coming out as gay. Cardi B got engaged to Offset (The Migos). Good for her! Let’s hope it’s true love. A man in Lithuania got sentenced to house arrest for praising Joseph Stalin. Should we do stuff like this or is this hurting the 1st amendment? A chapter of BLM in Tennessee announced that they won’t get involved as much with white counter protest Why? Because the real fight is in fighting the racism in the system. During #ChatroomCheckin, some of you listeners gave us your thoughts on the news. Loved that. Then you dropped in your motivations. Loved that even more. We even had tracks that we hoped you loved. So lots of love to go around this Monday. TK and Conscious get into a discussion over a New York Times article on the difficulties of making friends in your 30s? Is it really impossible? Is it just on an individual level? Should Millennials also be blamed for this? It’s Monday, things seem to be kinda good. Not everything is on fire. In the end, you got to see another day, take another breath. That should count for something. Let’s make it count. #MotivationMonday TK in the AM is a proud sponsor of the Free Africans All the Sports League Program (FAASLP) http://geturshirt.storenvy.com/products/21965252-f-a-a-t-s-l-p-unisex-t-shirt (See ep #752) @TKinTheAM is live every M-W-F 10-1130am EST on bondfireradio.com and tunein app. Same day replays 7pm EST also available on Apple Podcasts, GooglePlay Music, mixcloud, and Spreaker!
