Season 6, Episode 43 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get right to recapping the Pittsburgh Steelers 16-10 loss at home Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals. Being as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn’t play well in his first game back from his sprained left MCL, David and I revisit the narrative that we talked about prior to the game surrounding that. We go over Roethlisberger’s interceptions on Sunday and whether or not the Steelers wide receivers didn’t play overly well against the Bengals. The Steelers appear to have lost running back Le’Veon Bell for the remainder of the season due to a right MCL injury that he suffered on Sunday, so David and I make sure to address the significance of that moving forward. As you would expect, David and I also address the decision made by head coach Mike Tomlin late in Sunday’s game to not use the team’s first timeout ahead of the two-minute warning. That debate winds up being lengthy as you would imagine. We discuss other coaching decisions made in the game as well as the play of several individual players on both sides of the football. With the Steelers looking like they have no shot to win the AFC North in 2015, we start looking ahead to the possibility of them getting one of the two Wild Card spots and that includes us taking a look at the teams they are likely to be battling over the course of the last 9 weeks of the season in addition to the schedules of each. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.

Season 6, Episode 42 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get things started by talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers injury report heading into Friday. While its obvious that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, it’s not looking like defensive end Stephon Tuitt will make it back this week and that has us both concerned. The Bengals game is a “must-win” for the Steelers if they want a shot at winning the AFC North this year. David and I preview the game thoroughly for you as we discuss both sides of the football of both teams. We give our thoughts on what we think the Steelers will need to do in order to win the game. Defensive coordinator Keith Butler had some interesting comments about his backup defensive linemen on Thursday so we make sure to hit on those as well. Regardless of what happens on Sunday, David and I both agree that the Steelers should be in fairly good shape when it comes to them potentially making the playoffs this year as we only see three other teams in the AFC that will likely compete for the two Wild Card spots. As always, we end our Friday show by giving you our weekly picks of all of the action around the NFL and that includes us picking the final score of the Steelers-Bengals game. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Season 6, Episode 41 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get things started by talking about what Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had to say on Tuesday during his weekly press conference, As usual, Tomlin provided quite a few talking points and that includes us going over his injury updates in addition to the answers he gave to several questions. We discuss what he said about cornerbacks Antwon Blake and Brandon Boykin in addition to his thoughts on the Steelers defense not being able to cover tight ends so far this season. We have some stats for you in this show as we recap how quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has played in his first games back from injury so far during his career. We also go over the stats of opposing tight ends who the Steelers have faced so far this season. We move on to give you our initial thoughts on the upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals and then welcome back to the show Paul Dehner Jr., who covers the Bengals for Cincinnati.com. Paul gives us a lot of insight on the undefeated Bengals as we talk about several of their players on both sides of the football. Paul doesn’t believe the Bengals will have an easy go of it Sunday against the Steelers, however, and he’s also expecting a high-scoring contest. If you are not already doing so, please follow Paul on Twitter at @pauldehnerjr and make sure to read his coverage leading up to the game right here as well. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Season 6, Episode 40 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get things started by talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers four-game stretch without injured quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and how their upcoming Week 8 game against the Cincinnati Bengals is very important as it relates to not only winning the AFC North, but making the playoffs as a Wild Card. The Steelers lost 23-13 to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, so as you would expect, we get right into breaking that game down thoroughly. We discuss the play of quarterback Landry Jones, key offensive plays, as well as how the defense played in the game. Missed tackles, turnovers and explosive plays are certainly discussed in addition to third downs on both sides of the football. Tackle Alejandro Villanueva made his first career start on Sunday so we talk about the game he played in addition to talking about the rest of the offensive line. David hits on the lack of urgency by the Steelers offense at the end of the game as well. Before we wrap things up, David and I hit on the future of Steelers cornerback Cortez Allen now that he’s been placed on the Reserve/Injured list for a second straight season. Additionally, we talk briefly about the Steelers kicker situation for 2016. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.

 Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 23 - Episode - 663 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:45

Season 6, Episode 39 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get things started by talking a little more about the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback situation heading into the weekend as we wait for the final injury report of the week to be released. We go over who’s likely to be in and out for Sundays game against the Kansas City Chiefs and also speculate about which player is likely to be released/waived should Tyler Murphy ultimately be promoted to the team’s 53 man roster on Saturday. We give you our final thoughts on the Steelers upcoming game against the Chiefs and why the home team shouldn’t be taken too lightly on Sunday despite their 1-5 record. Should head coach Mike Tomlin be in consideration right now for Coach of the Year? We both chime in on that topic and also share a few other candidates with you. Center Maurkice Pouncey had another surgery on Thursday, so we make sure to touch on that as well. In the second part of this Friday podcast, David and I give you our picks for all of the Week 7 games. As usual, we also attempt to predict the final score of the Steelers game. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.

 Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 21 - Episode - 662 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:00

Season 6, Episode 38 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get things started by talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback situation headed into their Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Will Ben Roethlisberger play? Will he serve as the No. 2? If no to both, should the team signed another veteran on Monday? We probably spend far too much time on this but it made for a good discussion nonetheless. As usual, we go over what head coach Mike Tomlin had to say Tuesday during his weekly press conference and that includes his rundown of the team’s injury report. The Steelers signed a new tackle on Monday so we talk a little bit about that player and whether or not he’ll dress and be the swingman Sunday against the Chiefs. In the second part of the show, David and I are joined by Adam Teicher, who covers the Chiefs for ESPN.com. We discuss the Chiefs season so far and get Adam’s insight on the team as it relates to all three phases. We also get a few injury updates along the way. If you are not already doing so, please follow Adam on Twitter at @adamteicher and also make sure to read his work online right here. We close out the show with the Steelers Wednesday injury report and talk a little bit about the Steelers depth on their offensive line. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 19 - Episode - 661 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Season 6, Episode 37 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get right to recapping the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday home win over the Arizona Cardinals. First, we talk about the lousy play of Mike Vick to start the game and how he just never seemed to grasp a large portion of the playbook since he’s been with the Steelers. We also wonder if we’ve seen Vick play his last snap in the NFL. We move on to discuss the surprising play Sunday of Landry Jones, who replaced an injured Vick in the third quarter. We look at five key throws that Jones made in that game that ultimately led to the Steelers winning. Tackle Kelvin Beachum was injured on Sunday and he’ll be lost for the season. David and I examine his future and whether or not the team can survive with Alejandro Villanueva at left tackle moving forward. Martavis Bryant gets plenty of praise as well for his play against the Cardinals. We then continue to wrap up more thoughts on the play of the Steelers offense on Sunday before finally getting around to talk about the defense. Several things stood out on that side of football and we go over them. Chris Boswell gets some love at the end of this show and we also talk a little bit about some decisions that head coach Mike Tomlin did and didn’t make on Sunday. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.

 Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 16 - Episode - 660 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:48

Season 6, Episode 36 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I open things up by talking about Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and how his 2015 season is now in jeopardy after suffering a setback with his ankle. With Pouncey still out for the foreseeable future, the Steelers will continue to rely on Cody Wallace. We talk about Wallace’s play over the course of the last few weeks and if the Steelers can still make a run with him if Pouncey isn’t able to return. We move on to talk about the rest of the Steelers injury report heading into Friday afternoon and focus in specifically on linebacker Ryan Shazier and his shoulder injury. The Steelers look to get wide receiver Martavis Bryant back this week and David and I agree that his return should help quarterback Mike Vick some. Even so, we both are worried about how Vick might play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. We then continue on with our preview of Sunday’s game and talk extensively about how toxic the Cardinals are so far this season. Their run game’s not too shabby, either, so we look at the challenge that the Steelers defense will face Sunday at home. We discuss the future of Steelers safety Shamarko Thomas a little bit and also dedicate some time to the comments made by wide receiver Antonio Brown this past week as it relates to him not getting the ball enough. In the final potion of this episode, David and I give you our Week 6 picks in addition to predicting the Steelers game against the Cardinals. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.

 Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 14 - Episode - 659 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:00

Season 6, Episode 35 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I open things up with our final thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-20 win Monday night over the San Diego Chargers. That includes us talking more about the play of quarterback Mike Vick in that game in addition to talking about several other players who played well in the road win. Head coach Mike Tomlin had his weekly press conference on Tuesday so David and I discuss the main talking points that came out of that session with the media. As you would probably expect, David and I focus mainly on Tomlin’s comments on the loss of the 18 seconds of game clock time that took place during the Chargers final kickoff as we both weren’t thrilled with the answer. Tomlin provided an injury report of sorts headed into the team’s week of practice so we go over that as well. Will the team need to promote safety Jordan Dangerfield to the 53 man roster on Saturday with veteran Will Allen currently nursing an ankle injury? We discuss that possibility being as safety Ross Ventrone was released on Tuesday to make room for wide receiver Martavis Bryant. In the second half of this podcast, David and I are joined by Kent Somers, who covers the Arizona Cardinals for AZCentral Sports. It’s been four years since Kent has been on the show and he helps us preview the Steelers upcoming game on Sunday against the Cardinals by delivering fantastic insight on the team that he has covered for several years. We talk about the Cardinals offense, defense and special teams in addition to the team deciding to spend this week in West Virginia instead of traveling back home after their Sunday win in Detroit. If you are not doing so already, please follow Kent on Twitter at @KentSomers and read his articles online here. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.  Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 13 - Episode - 658 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:40

Season 6, Episode 34 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I recap the Pittsburgh Steelers last-second 24-20 win Monday night over the San Diego Chargers. As you can imagine, we have quite a bit to talk about in this show as we discuss the final play call, the play of quarterback Mike Vick, the play of the defense and much, much more. We discuss the botched time management by the referees late in the game on the final kickoff in addition to a few other questionable calls by the officials in the game. The Steelers defense played well enough for the team to win Monday night even though they had problems covering Chargers tight end Antonio Gates. We discuss what they did do well Monday night in addition to the bad. We break down the play of several individual Steelers players in the game as much as time will allow us and recap the team’s injury situation headed into Week 6. We are all over the place in this episode so you might have to listen to it twice to keep up. There’s even some math in this show and I even attempt to provide David some questions to ask head coach Mike Tomlin during his Tuesday press conference. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.

 Terrible - Podcast - 2015 - Oct - 9-episode - 657 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:58:30

Season 6, Episode 33 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I start things off by reviewing the Thursday injury reports of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Diego Chargers ahead of Monday night’s game. We are both certainly concerned that wide receiver Martavis Bryant might not make his 2015 debut in this game after failing to practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Quarterback Mike Vick and Todd Haley both had some interesting quotes related to preparedness, so David and I examine those and wonder if there is reason to be concerned. We move on to give our final analysis of the upcoming game against the Chargers and talk quite a bit about what we think the Steelers will need to do Monday night in order to come away with a win. In the second half of the show, David and I give you our Week 5 picks around the NFL. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here. Thanks for listening and don't forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends! The new message hotline is (814) 429-YINZ.
