Season 6, Episode 58 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get right to talking about several of the main talking points that came out of the weekly press conference that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin gave on Tuesday. Season 6, Episode 57 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get right to recapping the Pittsburgh Steelers big home win Sunday night over the Indianapolis Colts. As you would imagine, we talk quite a bit about the game quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had Sunday night and that includes us discussing his ability to connect on the deep ball against the Colts. We go over what we observed on both offense and defense Sunday night and make sure to address the playing time that cornerback Brandon Boykin received during the game. We talk about the defensive scheme changes the Steelers made Sunday night that included them dropping 8 men in coverage several times throughout the game. Season 6, Episode 56 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday injury report prior to Friday’s being released. After running down the team’s injuries, David and I go back through all of the quotes from this past week from head coach Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator Keith Butler concerning the Steelers secondary in an effort to try to predict who we might see play Sunday night at cornerback against the Indianapolis Colts and in what situations. We move on to talk about not only the problems the Steelers defense has had so far this season but what it might mean past this year. Do they have the talent on their roster currently to become one of the better defenses in the league? It turns out to be a depressing talk, so consider yourself warned. We move on to discuss which Steelers player should be the team’s MVP right now and also talk about whether or not wide receiver Antonio Brown is a lock to be a unanimous first-team All-Pro this season. The Steelers will play the Colts Sunday night so we finish up our game preview by going over what we expect to see out of both teams on both sides of the football. Season 6, Episode 55 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get right to it discussing the situation with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as it relates to the concussion he apparently suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Roethlisberger has now said that he has been cleared to return to practice as of Wednesday morning and we go over the chain of comments that preceded that. We quickly cover the rest of Steelers injuries before moving on to talk about what head coach Mike Tomlin had to say Tuesday during his press conference. We start that segment off by discussing Tomlin’s comments related to possible changes in the Steelers secondary this coming Sunday that could include cornerback Brandon Boykin playing in the slot in the team’s sub package defense. We also discuss whether or not fellow cornerback Antwon Blake will be benched entirely this coming weekend and whether or not Ross Cockrell will start opposite William Gay in the team’s base defense. Tomlin also had a few interesting things to say about timeouts on Tuesday, so we discuss that in addition to him further explaining his reasoning for kicking the field goal late in the game on fourth down as opposed to going for a touchdown. David and read a few emails and talk defense in the next segment before finally welcoming back to the show Phil Wilson, who covers the Indianapolis Colts for Scout.com. As usual, Phil gives his straight forward insight on the Colts heading into Sunday night’s game against the Steelers and that includes us getting his thoughts on their offense and defense. Season 6, Episode 54 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, with co-host David Todd back in the saddle on this Monday, we have quite a bit to talk about following the Pittsburgh Steelers 39-30 road loss on Sunday to the Seattle Seahawks. Before we get to breaking down and recapping the game, David and I go over the list of injured players coming out of Sunday’s loss. We move on to talk extensively about the several failures the Steelers defense had on Sunday and more importantly, why they happened. We talk about the changes that probably need to be made when it comes to defensive schematics moving forward. We look back at the play of the Steelers defense this season and wonder if the unit has been given too much credit at times this year. I also make sure to update you on the Steelers defensive ANY/A stat coming out of Sunday’s loss and why I don’t believe this year’s team can win the Super Bowl if they ultimately wind up making the playoffs. We give our thoughts on cornerback Antwon Blake and safety Will Allen and how both really are better served being put on the sideline at this point in favor of Brandon Boykin and Robert Golden respectively. Season 6, Episode 53 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, Alex Kozora once again sits in for David Todd, who is traveling back to Pittsburgh on this Friday. To kick things off on this Friday, Alex and I briefly recap the three Thanksgiving games. We talk about how the Carolina Panthers look Super Bowl worthy right now while the Green Bay Packers don’t. Additionally, we can’t help but discuss the future of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly following his team’s blowout loss to the Detroit Lions. We move on to talk about the Thursday injury report released by the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the Friday one being made available. Additionally, we go over the injury report of the Steelers opponent this week, the Seattle Seahawks. After talking about the health of the Steelers, Alex and I discuss the future of tackle Mike Adams now that it looks like his 2015 contract will be tolled. Alex would be in favor of the Steelers parting ways with Adams regardless of that happening, while I think he should at least be brought back to compete in training camp. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons is hoping to have his contract extended during the offseason so Alex and I discuss some numbers related to that possible move. Steelers’ offensive coordinator Todd Haley had some interesting things to say about wide receiver Markus Wheaton on Thursday so we discuss his situation briefly in addition to talking a little about rookie wide receiver Eli Rogers, who has spent the entire season on the team’s Reserve/Injured list. Season 6, Episode 51 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, with David Todd tied up out of town on this Thanksgiving week, Alex Kozora joins me for the first time this year during the regular season. Alex and I start things off by talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers coming out of their bye week and what we’re expecting head coach Mike Tomlin to talk about Tuesday during his press conference as it relates to the injury status of several players. That list of players includes tackle Mike Adams, who must return to practice Tuesday afternoon if he hopes to play at all this season. We also talk about center Maurkice Pouncey and how he’s still likely to be sidelined for at least the remainder of the regular-season. The Baltimore Ravens lost quarterback Joe Flacco for the remainder of the season to a knee injury on Sunday so we not only cover that, we look back at all of the injuries they have suffered so far this season. The Cincinnati Bengals lost a second straight game Sunday night so we go over the Steelers slim chances of winning the AFC North with 6 weeks remaining in the season. We look ahead at the Steelers remaining six games in addition to talking about their defensive struggles this year on first downs. Alex gives his thoughts on cornerback Antwon Blake and tackle Alejandro Villanueva heading into the final six games of the season. Season 6, Episode 49 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I start things off by going over the decision made Sunday by Pittsburgh Steelers to dress quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in order for him to serve as the backup to Landry Jones against the Cleveland Browns. Roethlisberger wound up playing extremely well off the bench after Jones went down injured and that leads to us to not only talking about his performance but the play of wide receiver Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant. We move on to discuss the decision made by head coach Mike Tomlin to go for it on fourth down late in the first half instead of taking the easy field goal to go up by 14 points. We look at the problems the Steelers offense had running the football on Sunday before switching over to talk about the play of the defense on Sunday. We take time to discuss several induvial performances on that side of the football and also discuss some snap counts. After talking a little bit more about who may or may not play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, we dive into previewing the game. We talk about the strong Browns deep-pass defense and their poor run defense to start off with and how we’ll be watching Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant very close this weekend to see if he get hit them for a few explosive plays. Being as the Browns will be starting a rookie at left guard Sunday against the Steelers, David and I discuss how the Pittsburgh defense should go after him with stunts and twists in hopes that outside linebacker Jarvis Jones will be able to get some inside pressure on whichever quarterback winds up getting the start for them. The Browns would be wise to roll out a lot of 11 personnel against the Steelers on offense and we tell you why that is. David throws out a few stat related over and unders for Sunday’s game for us to pick. Season 6, Episode 45 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I get things started by talking about the decision made by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday to waive running back Dri Archer in order to claim kick returner Jacoby Jones off waivers from the San Diego Chargers. As you can imagine, we both how quite a bit to say about both of those players. Additionally, we take a look back at the selection of Archer late in the third-round of the 2014 NFL Draft. What does the future hold for Jones? We’re both not sure, but we don’t fault the Steelers for rolling the dice on him. The Steelers injury report is starting to look a little better heading into their Sunday home game against the Oakland Raiders and David and I go over it. We also talk about who might not get helmets this weekend in addition to the team deciding to promote cornerback Doran Grant from the practice squad on Wednesday. Is a move to safety in his future?
