In this weeks Texas Straight Talk telephone update, Dr. Ron Paul makes that case that the ultimate costs of war go beyond the dollars spent and generations of enemies determined to exact revenge. What about our men and women? Governments historically use and abuse their own soldiers; it's an undeniable fact. In this time of impending bankruptcy, we can ration resources to care for the hundreds-of-thousands of veterans in need - or we can continue to spill blood and treasure for a fool's world order. The campaign continues, as the media narrative shifts to the seemingly inevitable match-up between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Ron Paul is the lone Republican challenger left standing, as Newt Gingrich announced his intention to suspend his campaign following Romney's five state sweep on Tuesday. Yet, the media is starting to recognize that Dr. Paul will have a role to play come August, as it becomes increasingly obvious that the Congressman has fared much better in the delegate process than in the different state Republican straw-polls. But make no mistake: Romney's establishment minions are trying to pull out all kinds of shenanigans at state conventions around the country. A Romney/Obama general election would be an entirely uninspiring affair. Let's hope that the Congressman does anything and everything  within his power to maximize our collective voice (and the voices of the millions of Americans who feel unrepresented by the presumptive nominees of the two major parties). Congressman Ron Paul attracted another impressive crowd of around 3,000 more supporters and undecided voters on Friday at his University of Houston campaign rally. 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted another 6,000-plus supporters to his University of Texas at Austin town hall rally on Thursday night. The Congressman's UT campaign event was held  outdoors at the university’s LBJ Library Lawn, located on the Austin campus.  At the event, Dr. Paul discussed his platform of constitutionally-limited government, the restoration of economic and civil liberties, and provisions of his ground-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America.’ Audio of the event is pretty good, most of which was recorded via the Freedom Broadcasting Network's live stream. YNN's (Your News Now - Austin, TX) Paul Brown sat down with Rep. Ron Paul before his town hall meeting at the University of Texas Thursday to tape a special episode of Capital Tonight. Dr. Paul talked about why he's staying in the race, what's next for him after this election and why he's so popular with young people.

Congressman Ron Paul joined FBN's Neil Cavuto live from Fox News' studios in Austin, Texas. Dr. Paul commented on the left's incessant demagoguery against Rep. Paul Ryan's modest budget proposal, and made the case for why government cuts should first focus on the overseas military spending.

Twelve term Texas Congressman and three time presidential candidate Ron Paul was in Austin as a part of his Texas campaign tour. Dr. Paul stopped by the FOX 7 studios to talk with KTBC's (Fox - Austin, TX) Mike Warren about his campaign and the race for the White House.

Ron Paul spoke with KXAN's (NBC 36 - Austin, TX) Robert Maxwell on the Thursday broadcast of OnPolitix, as his campaign for the Texas Primary in May gets under way. Dr. Paul talks about his ongoing victories within the different state's convention processes, defying the meme that Mittens Romney has the whole nomination sewn up. On Thursday morning, Congressman Ron Paul hosted a campaign fundraising event at the Austin Marriott South in Austin, TX. Around 60 people were in attendance to hear Dr. Paul talk about the 2012 campaign, and the liberty movement more broadly. Carol Paul introduces her husband. The cost of attendance quite modest by political standards: $350 donation per person ($250 student or active duty military). Congressman Ron Paul appeared on News Radio KLBJ 590 AM's on Tuesday afternoon, as a guest on The Jeff Ward Show. Among the many questions Dr. Paul fielded during the interview, some of the most interesting included: Why he is in the Republican Party? How many years does he think it will take for Americans to accept a libertarian society? Does the US government (under Pres. Paul) leave troops stationed anywhere in the world? Is gay marriage still a major political issue in 2012 (Newt Swingrich still thinks it is) ?

Congressman Ron Paul joined Talk Radio 1210 WPHT's Chris Stigall to talk about his run for the Republican nomination for President (and Tuesday's PA primary). Dr. Paul was asked about his excellent Philly crowd out on the mall in the rain on Sunday. Other topics of discussion included the Jefferson/Hamilton debate about the central bank, the social safety net for healthcare, federal student loans, and the personality clashes of the GOP nomination. Stigall even tries to get the Congressman to tell his supporters to vote Romney in 2012.

On Monday morning, Rep. Ron Paul appeared in CNBC's New Jersey studios to guest host Squawk Box along side Becky Quick and Andrew Ross Sorkin. Dr. Paul debated guest panelists such as Stephen Roach (former Morgan Stanley chief economist) and Dino Kos (Hamiltonian Associates) on economic topics such as Federal Reserve policy and the gold standard vs. fiat money. This is Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk legislative update for the week of 4/23 - We should not be surprised that big brother is back, making another attempt to take over our free internet under the guise of national security. SOPA and PIPA where widely rebuked by the people, due to the legislation's vague language and the widely perceived federal power grab. Many in the press are already trying to convince you that CISPA, or the “Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act”,  is completely unrelated legislation. But make no mistake, this bill will only further intertwine the interests of big business and big government, and will threaten the internet as we know it!
