Chelsea v The Press! The Chelsea Football FanCast #226 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

A very special one off Chelsea FanCast where Stamford Chidge grills a panel of football journalists to find out why the press coverage of Chelsea is so negative. The panel includes Martin Lipton (The Mirror); Neil Ashton (Daily Mail); Rob Shepherd (ex-NOTW) and Dan Levene (Fulham Chronicle) Most Chelsea fans would claim that for the past year and probably longer, the club and the fans have been on the end of a right kicking by the press. Is the negativity justified or is it driven by an anti-Chelsea agenda? Well there’s only one way to find out, and that’s to ask the best football writers in the business. We assembled a panel including Martin Lipton (The Mirror); Neil Ashton (Daily Mail); Rob Shepherd (ex-NOTW) and Dan Levene (Fulham Chronicle) to debate a number of questions listeners to the show sent in, in front of an audience of Chelsea fans. In the first part of the show issues such as the perceived negativity toward Chelsea and Roman Abramovich and the pack mentality of the Press were discussed. In part two Terry-gate and Clattenburg-gate and the moral outrage displayed by the Press was discussed and in the final part our attention turned to the impact of social media on the Press and press relations with the club and the fans and how it can be improved. This was a unique opportunity for Chelsea fans to explain how they feel and get a response from the Press as to what is really going on and why. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Chelsea v The Press!

Rafastrophe! The Chelsea Football FanCast #225 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge and the crew discuss the dreadful start made by The Fat Spanish Waiter, and all things Chelsea. Table for two please... Three games played two draws and one embarrassing loss in a local derby. The worst start by a manager hired by Roman. Well done Rafa. Well done Roman!!! Where do we start? If it wasn’t depressing enough that we hired the Fat Spanish Waiter, we now how have rumours that he could be joined by Average Grant, and that Frank Lampard may be on his way to Arsenal or QPR. You couldn’t make it up. If what is happening on the pitch isn’t bad enough, then what is happening off it should make any Chelsea fan thoroughly depressed. The Club is a shambles at the moment, and we are becoming a laughing stock. What started out as a season of excitement and promise has become a living nightmare. It really feels like our season is over already, and Munich Munich seems a long long time ago. On this week’s show, we’ll be discussing the matches against Fulham and West Ham and we will have the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got a good old sing song in “Shall we sing a song for you?”, and Chidge’s interviews with TalkSport. To wrap up we’ll be answering your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’. Don’t forget you can now listen to the show live by going to mixlr.com/Chelsea-fancast on your computer or IPhone, and you’ll be able to interact with us live on mixlr, twitter @ChelseaFanCast or Facebook on the fan page.  Love Chelsea Hate Rafa! The Chelsea Football FanCast #224 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge and the crew get together to rip into the latest week of bloodletting at Chelsea, and discuss the goings on down at the Bridge!Ooops we’ve done it again as that well known Chelsea fan Brittney Spears would say. 6 months after bringing home the European and FA Cup, and making a good fist of changing the way we play, the club sacks Robbie Di Matteo. Why? Because we encountered a blip in form – largely down to bad luck and missing vital members of the team? No. It appears that Roman Abramovich simply didn’t fancy Robbie, so in typical ruthless style, Robbie – a legend at Chelsea and a true Gent – was dispensed with in pretty classless circumstances. What an absolute disgrace, but to compound matters, in spite of the well-known feelings of the supporters on the subject, the club then appoints the last manager we would ever want to see at the club. Rafa Benitez. The man who issued so many hateful barbs against the club and its supporters; the man who started Liverpool’s decline; the man who took Jose’s treble winning Inter Milan side to mid table within 6 months; the man who has quite rightly been out of work in the last 2 years. And they wonder why we are so pissed off? Do they give a damn about what the supporters think? Clearly not. Be in no doubt – this is most definitely the club saying to the supporters it is not your club and we don’t care what you think or want.Dark times indeed, but you know what, this is nothing new…Chelsea has always been as mad as this, which is one of the reasons we still love it so much. As far as I am concerned I will never support Benitez, but I will always get behind the players 100%. Players, Managers, The Board and Owners come and go, we the supporters are the only constant and we’re here for life. Worth remembering that.On the show tonight we spend more time discussing the Rafa debacle than the match itself, after all not much of interest happened on the pitch, but we will have the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got a good old sing song in Shall we sing a song for you, and Lauren will be giving us her Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. And to wrap up we’ll be answering your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’. Don’t forget you can now listen to the show live by going to mixlr.com/Chelsea-fancast on your computer or IPhone, and you’ll be able to interact with us live on mixlr, twitter @ChelseaFanCast or Facebook on the fan page.  Remember, remember, we’re shit in November! The Chelsea Football FanCast #223 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge and the crew are joined by Lawrence and Jason from the band 'The Beautiful Game' to ponder why Chelsea supporters hate November, oh and the defeat to WBA! So the curse of November strikes again. Two points from a possible nine, and now we have crunch games against Juve and City next, but don’t worry our last match in November is against Fulham. But the reality is that it’s not all doom and gloom. We’re still playing relatively well and are 3rd in the league in what should always be seen as a season of transition, half the team played in North America just three days before, JT and Ash are out and but for some decent defending and clinical finishing we would have baggied all three points! That being said, the stupidity of Michael Emenalo and the Board in leaving us so bereft in the striking department is there for all to see. That and the need for some leadership on the pitch when JT is absent. Onwards and upwards! We have some special guests on the show with Lawrence Bonavia and Jason Crowley guitarist and vocalist from The Beautiful Game, both massive Chelsea fans, and Lawrence can regularly be seen having a drink with us lot in the Hand & Flower. The Beautiful Game are described as Pulling guitar music out of the gutter with anthems, beats and a lyrical edge and are a British rock and alternative band from Camden, North London. The band has been together since 2008 and their single “Getting By But Only Just” has won the song of the week on the Best of Myspace charts and was reviewed by NME Radio. The band’s influences include Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Libertines, The Jam and The Strokes. This together with their love of Chelsea makes them all right by us!! We review the defeat at the hands of the Baggies and we’ve got the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got a good old sing song in ‘Shall we sing a song for you’, and Lauren gives us her ‘Loan Report’ on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. And to wrap up we answer your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Remember, remember, we’re shit in November!

Same Old Scousers, Always Stealing! The Chelsea Football FanCast #222 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This week Stamford Chidge and the crew report back on the Liverpool match and are joined by special guest, Chelsea historian, Rick Glanvill, to talk about his new book 'Chelsea Miscellany'.A bit of an up and down week last week as we were outplayed by Shaktar Donetsk only to mug them at the end with a last minute goal, and then Liverpool did the same to us by equalizing in game we should have buried long before then. That’s football! At the end of the day the former was a top result in what is proving to be a very tough Champions’ League group, and we are still there or thereabouts in the mix up at the top of the Premier League, and we fully expect to see Chelsea in with a shout at the end of the season, if we can put away some of the many chances we create. And an on form striker or three would help!It was also great to see JT back marshaling the defence to good effect, and to score his 50th goal for the club. Let’s hope the horrible looking injury he suffered won’t keep him out for too long. We clearly need him!We have a very special guest on this weeks show. Rick Glanvill, the official historian of Chelsea FC, Gate 17 resident, author of The Official History of Chelsea, Chelsea – the Official History in Pictures, and many others besides, but most of all a top bloke. We talk to Rick about his new book, ‘Chelsea Miscellany’, and will be giving away a couple of signed copies if you can answer a suitably historical question!Apart from that we review the draw against Liverpool; we’ve got the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got a good old sing song in ‘Shall we sing a song for you?’, and Lauren gives us her Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. And to wrap up we answer your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Same Old Scousers, Always Stealing!

Not another bloody Hernandez! The Chelsea Football FanCast #221 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge is joined by ChelTel, The Celery Terrorist, Dazza Mental and the ‘Benches’ to discuss the draw away to Swansea and all the week’s Chelsea news.Well the visit to Swansea ended up being a bit of a damp squib, well actually worse than that as the hail stones pelted down. On the pitch Chelsea clearly missed the genius of Mata and the leadership of JT in a lackluster display. But at the end of the day a point away to Swansea is no disgrace. We review the draw against the Swans, and we’ve got the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got a good old sing song in ‘Shall we sing a song for you’ and the Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. And to wrap up we’ll be answering your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’. We’ve also got a review of Rick Glanvill’s new book ‘Chelsea Miscellany’, and we’ll be telling you how to enter in to the new Expose Designs competition to win a Wales shirt signed by Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones and Eddie Niedswecki. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Not another bloody Hernandez!

Seeing Red! The Chelsea Football FanCast #220 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dazza, Pablo, Celery Terrorist and Lauren and guests Expose Designs, @ChelseaChadder, @ChelseaStats and Felipe from Chelsea News Brasil. The Man Utd mugging aided and abetted by Clattenburg may or may not be discussed!Mugged, robbed, stitched up, unbelievable but oh so predictable. After defending like idiots for 20 minutes, Chelsea battered Utd to draw level only for the referee Mark Twattenburg to rescue Utd with some ridiculous decisions. Who’d have thunk it. Well done Fergie in finding an able replacement for Howard Webb. That has to be the worst refereeing performance since Ovrebo and we left the ground with a similar feeling to that Barcelona match. At 2:2 there was only going to be one winner, until Twattenburg and is henchmen lost the plot. But in Jose Mourinho style we don’t consider this a loss to Utd. Clearly the best team did not win. One thing we can predict with certainty is that it will be a Chelsea FanCast packed with controversy. We’ve also got loads of special guests on the show in the form of @ChelseaChadder and @ChelseaStats who many of you will know from Twitter, with over 10,000 and 45,000 followers respectively. They also write for the excellent Chelsea website thechels.co.uk. We also have our sponsors Expose Designs on the show to announce the winner of or CPO competition, and all the way from Brasil we have Felipe creator of the brilliant Chelsea News Brasil website chelseabr.com and Andrew Minas from Melbourne Australia on the benches. We review the bitter defeat to Utd and discuss the incompetence of the officials and as always we’ve got the ‘Fannies’ where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We’ve also got a good old sing song in Shall we sing a song for you, and after a week away Lauren is back with her Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. And to wrap up we answer your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Seeing Red!

Stamford Chidge is joined by ChelTel, Dazza, Pablo and Lauren, and special guest actor and well known voice over artist Jonathan Kydd to discuss the win against Norwich, plus the fallout from the FA tribunal, TwatGate and the press witch hunt.Saturday was very much like a walk in the park on a balmy and sunny Saturday afternoon as Chelsea turned on the style and beat Norwich 4-1. It’s all looking rather good as Chelsea head to the international break top of the league, having a laugh and exhibiting the best quality of football we’ve seen at the Bridge for many a year. A big well done to Robbie, Eddie and the team. Let the good times roll!On the show, we’ll be reviewing the wins against Norwich and that unpronounceable team from Denmark. We’ve also got the Fannies where we award our Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. We have a good old sing song in ‘Shall we sing a song for you’, and Lauren gives us her Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. Chidge is joined by ChelTel, Dazza, Pablo, Lauren and the benches, and back from ChelTelAviv for one night only – Dr Mart!!! The FanCast crew discusses the win against the Goons and all things Chelsea.A particularly anarchic, chaotic and bawdy Chelsea FanCast this week means only one thing. The Dr is back in the house!!! That’s right Dr Mart returns from ChelTelAviv to join us on the show and to welcome the fact that Chelsea become the first team to beat the Arse at the Emirates three times. Well-deserved and this time without Didier Drogba! A cracking game, our best performance this season, and top of the league having a laugh…but will it last!We review the wins against the Arse and the Wolves, as well as looking forward to the Champions League match against New Zealand and discuss the FA’s verdict on JT. Chidge is joined by ChelTel, Dazza, Lauren and special guest Dan Levene journalist from the Blues Chronicle to discuss the Juventus and Stoke matches plus the CFC supporters trust meeting and JT quitting England and his FA hearing. It’s been a hectic week for Chelsea supporters with the first match in our defence of the Champions League followed by the usual battle against Stoke.  Pointless! - The Chelsea Football FanCast #215 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Chidge is joined by the usual suspects to discuss the QPR match, Jon Darch from the Football Supporters Federation to discuss the Safe Standing Campaign and Tim Rolls to discuss the proposed Chelsea FC Supporters Trust. So it was all about the handshake at the Loftus toilet bowl on Saturday, as the media would have us believe anyway. The Chelsea faithful entered the gates of hell to face the most intimidating atmosphere seen in a football stadium since Galatasary, as the ten blokes from Acton would have us believe. Oh and there was a rather poor football match played apparently? We’re privileged to be in the company of Jon Darch on the show. Jon is the man behind the Football Supporters Federation Safe Standing campaign. He explains to us why it’s a good idea to introduce safe standing to football grounds, and he’ll also be joined by Hadyn Gilbert who is a young lad making a TV series on safe standing. Also on the show, we review the draw against QPHahahaha, and as always, we award our match awards – the Fannies – for Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. And to wrap up we’ll be answering your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’ and we have an exciting competition in conjunction with sponsor Expose Designs where you can win a CPO share.  Super Bad! The Chelsea Football FanCast #214 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge is joined by ChelTel, Pablo, Dazza and Lauren to discuss the misery in Monaco, and special guest Amanda Jacks from the FSF talks about match day policing and stewarding. Apparently there was a football match on Friday night, in Monaco, with the Uefa Super Cup at stake. Unfortunately, only one team turned up, and it wasn’t Chelsea. Chelsea were on the end of a proper spanking losing 4-1 to a talented and motivated Atletico Madrid side galvanized by on form striker Falcao. But at the end of the day, did it really matter? Surely there are more important games ahead, and after the weekend’s premier league fixtures Chelsea are still top of the league and the only unbeaten side in all four divisions. Either way, Robbie di Matteo and Eddie Newton will need to get their thinking caps on over the international break. Our special guest is Amanda Jacks, a caseworker for the Football Supporters Federation and her role includes helping football fans who've been arrested or who have cause to complain about policing or stewarding. Amanda answers questions on policing and stewarding at football, and what your rights are, in the show.We also review the defeat to Atletico Madrid, and as always, if we can find any, we’ll be awarding our match awards – the Fannies – for Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. Lauren will be giving us her Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan and to wrap up we answer your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’ and we have an exciting competition in conjunction with sponsor Expose Designs where you can win a CPO share, talking of which…The Chelsea Football FanCast: Super Bad!

"In the Garden of Eden!" The Chelsea Football FanCast #213 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Stamford Chidge is joined by ChelTel, the Celery Terrorist, Ross, Pablo, Dazza, Lauren and ‘the Benches’ to discuss Chelsea’s wins against Reading and Newcastle, Eden Hazard, Fannies robanos…and Muffins! Chelsea came back from 2-1 down to beat a determined Reading side 4-2 in mid-week, and then turned on the ‘new’ style on Saturday to lead Newcastle 2-0 before going in to cruise control for the second half. Three wins from three games to top the table. A good start, but let’s not get carried away its early days yet! Let’s just enjoy the entertainment while it lasts! On the show this week, we review the wins against Newcastle and Reading, and as always we’ll be awarding our match awards – the Fannies – for Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Guinness and Celery moments. Later on, the lovely Lauren will be giving us her Loan Report on all the Chelsea players currently on loan. We’ll also be talking about the walk in honour of the memory of Kyle Broadbent, welcoming Victor Moses and the Spanish kid who’s name we can’t pronounce, and looking forward to Chelsea’s UEFA Super Cup match against Atletico Madrid in Monaco on Friday. To wrap up we’ll be answering your questions in ‘You’re on CFFC’ and we have an exciting competition in conjunction with sponsor Expose Designs where you can win a CPO share.
