'This is the End?' Chelsea FanCast #354 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:49

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Tony Glover to discuss the woeful loss against Sunderland and much much worse what looks like being the end for 'Captain, Leader, Legend' John Terry. As if this shithouse of a season wasn’t bad enough, losing to Sunderland after being 2-1 up was royally capped off by Captain Leader Legend JT being sent off in the last minute. His red card brings with it a 2 match ban thereby meaning that it might well be the last time we see JT in a Chelsea shirt. Is this the end for JT? If so what a horrible way to end the career of arguably Chelsea’s greatest ever player. If only the end of this shambles of a season could come quicker. On the show tonight we’ll be asking if this really is the end for JT and asking if he is Chelsea’s greatest ever player. In part two we’ll be asking why Guus ignored the youth again and has his 2nd tenure in charge been all that. We’ll discuss the massive job that Conte has on his hands – and will he actually be allowed to manage or will the board interfere yet again. And with a triumphant title winning Ranieri returning to the Bridge next Sunday we ask how should he be remembered - savior or failure? In part three, its Chelsea question time again so all you listeners in mixlr get your questions in and we’ll attempt to answer them. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. The Chelsea Football FanCast #354: ‘This is the End?’

'Life in the Old Dog yet?' Chelsea FanCast #348 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:14

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and the legendary 'Reverend' Grocer Jack to discuss the draw against West Ham and all things Chelsea. On the show tonight we’ll be asking were Chelsea dominated and lucky to get a draw or did the players show some fight to prove they haven’t downed tools for the summer…yet! In part two we’ll ask why did Guus start Remy instead of Traore; is Fabregas showing future captaincy potential; has Courtois lost confidence and is Oscar one of the most disappointing Chelsea players of all time? In part three, thanks to Chelsea having no midweek football for the foreseeable future, we’ll be throwing the show open to our listeners in mixlr and inviting them to ask questions of the panel – a Chelsea FanCast Question Time if you like. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news together with an exciting competition to win money off vouchers for a Chelsea shirt at Classic Football Shirts. The Chelsea Football FanCast #348: Life in the Old Dog yet?

 'Naughty 40!' Chelsea FanCast #346 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:52:52

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and the 'Reverend' Tony Glover from the Podding Shed Podcast to discuss Chelsea's matches against Stoke and Norwich. Yep that’s right Chelsea have reached the points tally of 40 which means we have avoided relegation this year…probably. Joking aside, it was a disappointing week in hindsight as we clung on to win 2-1 away at Norwich and then snatched a draw from the jaws of victory at home against Stoke on Saturday, thus ending our 3 match winning streak. Were Guus Hiddink’s substitutions in both games at fault or are the players still not firing on all cylinders, or is the crazy old Dutchman merely prioritizing wins in the Champions League and FA Cup. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing what went wrong with the substitutions against Norwich and Stoke and asking has the team progressed under Guus and has the Dutchman given us false hope? In part two we’ll be asking if Guus is prioritizing the Champions League and FA Cup at the expense of the Premier League; and we’ll be asking how it is that Traore can play without fear whilst Loftus-Cheek plays with the weight of expectation on him. In part three we’ll be remembering the King of Stamford Bridge – Peter Osgood with the anniversary of his death 10 years ago last week; we’ll be discussing the farce of the meeting held by the Premier League big 5 on rumours of a European Super League and also musing over some potential ideas for the New Stamford Bridge Gates. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news with a very long but fascinating email from a listener. The Chelsea Football FanCast #346: 'Naughty 40!'

'Who Ate All The Magpies?' Chelsea FanCast #343 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:55:00

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Levene and Mark Worrall to discuss the destruction of Newcastle on Saturday and a look ahead to the games against PSG and City. Love was most definitely in the air on Saturday as we enjoyed one of the best days of this doom laden season. For once the excellent pre and post-match was matched on the pitch as Chelsea romped home to an easy 5-1 win against Newcastle. But, were we really that good or were Newcastle quite simply abject? Has the Chelsea juggernaut turned round or will we be talking about our season being over on next week’s show. Maybe we should just enjoy the moment, like the first body tingling kiss of a new and exciting relationship. On the show tonight we’ll be asking was this a good win for Chelsea or were Newcastle just easy pickings and while the front three maybe firing on all cylinders do we still have an issue in midfield? In part two we’ll be asking who should play in the number 10 role for Chelsea – Fabregas; Hazard; Willian or Oscar? What’s the best solution to our defensive crisis and how much will it affect arguably our biggest week of the season with PSG in the Champions League and City in the Cup. In part three we’ll be asking Chelsea – Love me, Love me not? Are many supporters falling out of love with the modern game and dare I say it Chelsea? We’ll also be asking what would be worse – Arsenal or Spurs winning the league – surely that’s a no brainer? To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news with some cracking emails from listeners. The Chelsea Football FanCast #343: 'Who ate all the Magpies?'

 'Blue Monday' Chelsea FanCast #339 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:51:53

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Ross Mooring and Dan Silver to discuss the draws against Everton and West Brom but mostly Captain-Leader-Legend John Terry's last gasp equalizer which provoked wild scenes in the Matthew Harding End! So it is officially Blue Monday which I suppose is great if you’re a Chelsea fan or a New Order fan, but we are supposed to be more depressed on this particular Monday than any other during the year. If you’re a Chelsea fan and a listener to this show on a Monday then that will be a familiar feeling this season and it very much looked like we would be having a very depressing show going 3-2 down to Everton in the 90th minute on Saturday. But, cometh the hour cometh the captain, leader and legend John Terry who with a cheeky back heel from on offside position leveled the score, jumped in to the Matthew Harding end to provoke wild scenes. But the feeling of a great comeback and the team at long last exhibiting some fight does not paper over the cracks that we are in a state of limbo and going nowhere fast until we sort out the team and management in the summer. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the mad second half culminating in John Terry’s last minute equalizer and we’ll be discussing Diego Costa’s role in getting us back in to the game. In part two we’ll be discussing why draws are simply not good enough; why there are too many players not up to it and why Guus is not prepared to risk the youth. In part three we’ll be discussing the shambles at Stamford Bridge where we find ourselves in a state of limbo with a temporary manager in a holding role and clear mismanagement on all fronts by the club. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news and a couple of cracking emails. The Chelsea Football FanCast #339: Blue Monday

'No More Heroes Anymore!' Chelsea FanCast #337 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:55:50

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Levene to discuss the 'cauldron of hate', a 6 pointer win and all of the fall out regarding the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. What a mad old week. Eugene finally wielded the axe and Jose Mourinho – the best manager in Chelsea’s history was sacked with the club 1 point away from the relegation zone. Right decision? Only time will tell. The immediate effect was a far better performance against Sunderland on Saturday and a much needed 3 points, but the game seemed almost secondary to the atmosphere in the ground which whilst not quite as toxic as some had feared certainly left the players and board in no doubt how the supporters felt about their part in Jose Mourinho’s downfall. For me, the blame should probably be apportioned equally, but what leaves me hurting most is the untimely reminder that we, the Chelsea supporters, are irrelevant when it comes to the egos of overpaid under performing players and managers and self-interested short-termist directors. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the reaction to the players by Chelsea fans inside Stamford Bridge on Saturday and we’ll be asking who are the ‘rats’ and does it really matter? In part two we’ll dissect the departure of Jose Mourinho and ask who is to blame; were the club merely taking care of business and how does Michael Emenalo get away with it. In part three we will ask does this all mean there are no more heroes anymore when it comes to football and what next for the circus that is Chelsea FC. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. Stamford Chidge and everyone involved with the Chelsea FanCast would like to wish our listeners a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and successful New Year. Thanks for listening and for all your fantastic support for the show in 2015, including helping us to win our second Best Football Podcast award at the Football Blogging Awards. We'll be back on Monday January 11th 2016 after a short break for Christmas. Here's to 2016! Up the Chels! Chelsea FanCast #337: No More Heroes Anymore!

'Be Careful What You Wish For' Chelsea FanCast #336 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:05:35

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Clayton Beerman and Mark 'Gate 17' Worrall to discuss Chelsea's defeat to Bournemouth and the subsequent fall out. Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in! Having seen the glimmer of recovery for the last few weeks, our faith and optimism crash landed with a defeat to newly promoted Bournemouth, yes Bournemouth. In truth we were mugged off with a typical smash and grab display by the cherries and we should have won comfortably – but just how many times have we said that this season? One only wonders what Roman was thinking as he watched the horror through his fingers. Is this the beginning of the end for Jose? Will it be all change at Stamford Bridge and should we rip it up and start again or should some of us be careful what we wish for… On the show tonight we’ll be asking was the defeat to Bournemouth and the performance as bad as it felt and should we have some perspective plus we nominate the Chelsea FanCast match awards. In part two we’ll be asking what now for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea? Is it the manager or the players? Where do we go from here, what will happen next and where will it all end. In part three we will be talking to Mark Worrall about his latest novel This Damnation plus other Gate 17 titles available as very nice Christmas presents. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the results of this week’s man of the match; chant of the match; Guinness and Celery moments and the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. The Chelsea Football FanCast: Be Careful What You Wish For!

'Road to Recovery!' Chelsea FanCast #335 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:41:24

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Levene to chew over the draw against Spurs and the win against Maccabi Tel Aviv. Three games unbeaten, three clean sheets, defensive solidity and the team playing like a team again – but is Chelsea really back and what of the rift between Jose and Costa – surely there will only be one winner there. There was no winner in the 0-0 draw against Spurs on Sunday, as Jose used Hazard as a false number 9 with some success, but it says much when most Chelsea supporters were happy with the point. But to be fair whatever happens we do not lose to Spurs! On the show tonight we’ll be asking is Chelsea back, is Hazard as a false number 9 the way to go with a misfiring Costa plus we nominate the Chelsea FanCast match awards. In part two we’ll be asking is there for a future at Chelsea for mean and moody Diego Costa and is Fabregas a square peg in a Chelsea round hole, and do we think Chelsea can make it in to the top 4? Jose seems to think so. In part three we will be looking back at Chelsea’s 4-0 win against mighty Maccabi; praising a magical Willian; lamenting a dodgy pitch; applauding an excellent away trip and trying to figure out what Chelsea has to do against Porto to qualify for the round of 32. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the results of this week’s man of the match; chant of the match; Guinness and Celery moments and the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. The Chelsea FanCast #335: 'Road to Recovery!'

 'Resurrection Jose!' Chelsea FanCast #334 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:58:11

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, @goalie59 and Chelsea in America's Beth Wild to discuss the much needed win against Norwich and celebrate the Chelsea FanCast winning the Football Blogging Awards 'Best Football Podcast'!! Whilst Chelsea FanCast winning at the Football Blogging Awards was somewhat a surprise, the 1-0 win against Norwich on Saturday was nothing short of a massive relief. Our first win after 3 league defeats and to say the whistle was greeted with a fervor a kin to winning a trophy would be an understatement. Of course in reality this was no skin of the teeth win as Chelsea were on top for most of the game and should have run out comfortable winners by three goals or more. The team’s inability to finish being the only blot on an otherwise much improved performance in the defence and midfield. Hopefully onwards and upwards. On the show tonight we’ll be asking is Eden Hazard back, is Costa the new Torres and can Chelsea achieve mission impossible. In part two we’ll be looking back at the two revealing interviews given by Michael Emenalo to Sam Wallace of the Telegraph last week where the support for Jose, where Roman is perhaps coming from and Chelsea’s transfers and loan system were discussed in depth. In part three we will be looking back at Chelsa FanCast’s victorious night at the Football Blogging Awards To wrap up in part four we’ll have the results of this week’s man of the match; chant of the match; Guinness and Celery moments and the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. The Chelsea Football FanCast #334: Resurrection Jose!

'We Won't Be Here For Long!' Chelsea FanCast #333 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:49:38

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and authors of 'Over Land & Sea - Chelsea FC in the Great War' Alex Churchill and Andrew Holmes. That’s now 7 Premier League defeats out of 12 and the decline in our fortunes seems irreversible right now. Can we really be facing a relegation battle? It is certainly relegation form. I for one saw signs of a much better performance against Stoke on Saturday and on another day Chelsea would have won but it just seems that we don’t know how to win football matches at the moment. But I genuinely believe that the rot will stop with Matic, Hazard and others looking more like the players we know and love. On the show tonight we’ll be asking what Chelsea has to do to actually win a football match and what’s wrong with Diego Costa? In part two we’ll be asking is it really the fans superb support for Jose Mourinho that is keeping the Special One in his job, and we’ll be saying thank you and RIP to Bobby Campbell, the former Chelsea manager who sadly passed away last week. In part three we will be talking to Alex and Andrew all about their book Over Land & Sea – Chelsea FC in the Great War. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. Chelsea FanCast #333: 'We Won't Be Here For Long!'

'The Enemy Within' Chelsea FanCast #332 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:40:11

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Jonathan Kydd and Dan Silver to discuss Chelsea's Halloween Nightmare! Groundhog Day at the Bridge as Chelsea repeated almost exactly the recent capitulation against Southampton, but this time much worse as it was against the scousers. All was looking good with a goal by Ramires after 4 minutes and Chelsea seemingly in control, sitting back and playing on the counter for the first half. But then one loss of concentration, one mistake, Liverpool equalize, Chelsea heads drop and they lose their sixth game out of eleven 3-1. No wonder Jose is lost for words – it’s safe to say we all are too. On the show tonight we’ll be asking why Chelsea’s confidence seems so brittle and is this terminal or can Jose and the players turn it round. In part two we’ll be asking who the ‘enemy within’ is with rumours circulating that one of the players would rather lose playing under Jose than win. In part three we will yet again be asking what on earth is going on – is it the boards fault for not replacing the spine and leaving Chelsea with a lack of leaders; are the players good enough; if confidence is the issue how do we restore it and how long has Jose got before the club wield the axe or should the players carry the can for a change. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. The Chelsea Football FanCast #332: The Enemy Within

'Better the Devil you know!' Chelsea FanCast #331 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:53:49

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dr Mart and Dan 'the artist formerly known as Bruce Chronicle' Levene to discuss Chelsea's 5th Premier League defeat out of 10, have a meltdown and impose a media blackout! A 2-1 defeat; a goal denied by technology; a goal ruled out for a hairline offside; a player sent off; the asst. coach and the manager both sent off; 6 players booked sums up the season pretty well and leads me to the undeniable conclusion that this season is well and truly a load of bollocks. After a decent performance against Kiev in midweek redolent of Chelsea’s title winning season, it was two steps back again in the Premier League with a defeat to the high flying Hammers. But are we suffering from some serious bad luck with decisions or were we fairly and squarely ironed out. Only the Chelsea FanCast has the answers. On the show tonight we’ll be asking were Chelsea just unlucky or was it another performance underlining our current malaise this season. In part two we’ll be discussing whether the ‘Mourinho Meltdown’ is real or just more press hyperbole; do we care about the reputational damage to ‘brand Chelsea’ and where will this all end for Jose and the Chelsea this season. In part three I’ll be putting forward a vigorous argument in defence of the Special One and explaining why we should stick with him. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news. Voting closes on Friday October 30th in the Football Blooging Awards so don't forget to vote Chelsea FanCast Best Football Podcast here http://www.footballbloggingawards.co.uk/vote-now/ The Chelsea Football FanCast #331: Better the Devil you know!
