On this episode of Collider Movie Talk (Monday, March 19th, 2018) Mark Ellis, Jon Schnepp, Kristian Harloff, and Mark Reilly discuss the following: 1) Black Panther first film since Avatar to top chart for five consecutive weekends- Box Office Report 2) 'Avengers: Infinity War' Already Sets New Record for Advance Ticket Sales 3) Dwayne Johnson's Red Notice Set for June 2020 Release Date 4) There's a Shia LaBeouf Biopic entitled 'Honey Boy;' Casts Lucas Hedges 5) 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?' Trailer Finds Melissa McCarthy Running a Forgery Scam 6) Live Twitter Questions Marvel's Black Panther continued to make history in its fifth weekend at the domestic box office, taking in $27 million, becoming only the seventh film ever to cross the $600 million in North America. It is also the first film since Avatar to top the chart for five consecutive weekends. It finished Sunday with a domestic total of $605.4 million and $1.182 billion globally. According to Deadline, it only took six hours for the upcoming Infinity War to achieve the best-selling first day ticket sales. It's already beaten out Batman v. Superman, Justice League, and the previous record-holder, Black Panther. Universal Pictures announced Friday that they've set a June 12, 2020 release date for the action-thriller Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson. The project that will reunite Johnson with his Central Intelligence and Skyscraper director Rawson Marshall Thurber, was the subject of a high profile bidding war between major studios that included Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony and even Netflix. THR report that Shia LaBeouf is gearing up to play his own father in Honey Boy, a quasi-biopic centered on LaBeouf's relationship with his former clown and heroin-addict father, beginning around the time the young actor was on Disney's Even Stevens. The first trailer has been released for Fox Searchlight's Can You Ever Forgive Me?. The comedy-drama centers on the infamous literary scam by famed writer Lee Israel, played by Melissa McCarthy, who forged the words of dead celebrities on small notes and memos to raise money. David Yates returns to the director's chair for the second of a planned five-film Fantastic Beasts franchise that further reveals the Wizarding World set in the 1920s. The Deadpool 2 rumor mill was swirling over the last couple of days and now, our own Steve Frosty Weintraub has clarified some details. According to Collider.com's sources, the first Deadpool 2 test screening was in January, when the film tested around 90 or 91 out of 100. The studio then had another test screening after more editing and the film tested in the high 90s. Per The Tracking Board, The Conjuring writers of Chad and Carey Hayes have been brought on board to rewrite the script for Die Hard 6; a movie that is rumored to focus on the origin story of Bruce Willis' John McClane in the 1970s.  Deadpool 2 Test Screening Reactions Leak Online - Movie Talk | File Type: audio/x-mpeg | Duration: 00:50:57

Come see the Collider crew LIVE at the Schmoedown event on March 15th! https://fullscreenlive.com/event/collider-schmoedown-live/ On this episode of Collider Movie Talk (Tuesday, March 13th, 2018) Mark Ellis, Ti, Jon Schnepp, and John Rocha discuss the following: 1) Deadpool 2 reactions leak; contradicting reports flood the internet 2) Dwayne Johnson Pokes Fun at Himself in New 'Rampage' Teaser 3) Switch the Script - Changing The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 4) Netflix's Dan Gilroy/Jake Gyllenhaal Film Sets Ensemble 5) First Look at Mark Ellis' conversation with `The Room` director/star Tommy Wiseau 6) Live Twitter Questions Reports started flooding the internet recently and they all stemmed from one person who allegedly saw an early screening of Deadpool 2, saying it was disastrous. The reports were clearly premature because more reliable sources have chimed in on the matter. Our own Steve Frosty Weintraub chimed in saying: "Have seen a completely untrue report of 'Deadpool 2' testing poorly. From what I heard the first 2 test screenings both scored over 90 with the second one scoring close to the top mark. I've also spoken to people that saw it. Everyone said it's excellent. Fans will love." Dwayne Johnson and the marketing team behind his new Rampage movie treated fans yesterday when Johnson dropped an exclusive clip from the upcoming movie. Based on the classic 1980s video game of the same title, Johnson (recording from the gym, naturally) promised his audience a "bad-ass" look at himself in the film. Rampage hits theatres on April 13. According to Variety, Netflix's untitled Dan Gilroy pic starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo has set a full ensemble of actors just as production begins in Los Angeles. The actors joining the Nighcrawler alumni will include British actress Zawe Ashton, "Stranger Things" breakout Natalia Dyer, Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge, Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs, Academy Award nominee Toni Collette, and Academy Award nominee John Malkovich - in what is described as a horror-thriller that follows "big-money artists and mega-collectors who pay a high price when art collides with commerce."
