Joss Whedon took over directing duties and the rest, as they say, is history. Veteran entertainment reporter Josh L. Dickey however, recently revealed that he is now leaving the industry and his outlet Mashable, and took to Twitter for one last report - revealing that Snyder was actually fired in January or February of 2017, three months before the news broke that he was leaving Justice League. According to Variety, Michael Fassbender has signed on to star in David Sandberg's action-comedy Kung Fury. David Hasselhoff, who was in the original cult short film, is also on board to appear. Released in 2015, Kung Fury was a Kickstarter record-breaking success, and was selected for Cannes Directors Fortnight. SWITCH THE SCRIPT According to Deadline, Martin Scorsese's latest - The Irishman - is now reported to be Scorsese's most expensive film in the making. Originally budgeted for $125 million at Netflix, the costs are now said to be ballooning to $140 million range and climbing. Yesterday, Blumhouse Pictures took to their Twitter account to announce that Chris Columbus has signed on to write, direct and produce their screen adaptation of Scott Cawthon's popular video game Five Nights at Freddy's. The movie based on the popular game centers on a security guard battling animatronic robots that come to life in a Chuck E. Cheese-like venue. THR reports that Paul King, the director of the two acclaimed Paddington movies, is in final negotiations to direct Willy Wonka, a reimagining of Roald Dahl's classic children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; that's being developed at Warner Bros. This according to a new report from CNBC. It states that Comcast could potentially outbid Disney's offer for Fox assets, which would keep the X-Men and Avatar properties away from the Mouse House.    Uma Thurman finally broke her silence in a sprawling New York Times interview in which she addressed Harvey Weinstein with her own allegations of abuse. And near the end of the article was a short video in which Thurman revealed she was forced by Tarantino to drive a car in Kill Bill, against her wishes. The director took to his Instagram account over the weekend to offer a lengthy explanation about why, unfortunately, Jessica Chastain's character has now been cut from the movie entirely.   Melissa McCarthy debuted the trailer from her new comedy Life of the Party, yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The movie was inspired by Rodney Dangerfield's classic comedy, Back to School.    LIVE TWITTER QUESTIONS   Follow us on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ColliderVideo Follow us on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/ColliderVideo Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/colliderdotcom   Follow Mark: https://twitter.com/MarkEllisLive Follow Reilly: https://twitter.com/Reillyaround Follow Perri: https://twitter.com/PNemiroff Follow Dennis: https://twitter.com/ThinkHero   As the online source for movies, television, breaking news, incisive content, and imminent trends, Collider Videos is more than an essential destination.   Visit Collider: http://collider.com   Follow them on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/Collider   SUBSCRIBE TO THE SCHMOES YOUTUBE CHANNEL HERE: https://www.youtube.com/user/schmoesknow   Collider Show Schedule:   MONDAY: TV Talk | http://bit.ly/29BR7Yi    TUESDAY: Heroes | http://bit.ly/29F4Job   Team Schmoedown | http://bit.ly/29C2iRV    WEDNESDAY: Nightmares | http://bit.ly/29BQUV3    THURSDAY: Jedi Council | http://bit.ly/29v5wVi    FRIDAY: Schmoedown | http://bit.ly/29C2iRV    SATURDAY: Mailbag | http://bit.ly/29UsKsd    Behind the Scenes/Bloopers | http://bit.ly/2kuLuyI   SUNDAY: Mailbag | http://bit.ly/29UsKsd   MOVIE TALK: Every week day | http://bit.ly/29BRtOO
