We here on the Morning Show have known Country Radio Hall of Famer (and Nycki's husband) Mike Kennedy for a very very long time. In fact, this show owns a lot of our eventual success to the start that that Mike gave us in radio. And that's why having Mike in today to fill in for Nycki while she's recovering from neck surgery was something we've really been looking forward to! And, as you'll hear...we had a lot to talk about!!

Tom Papa has become one of our favorite comedians. From his last Netflix special, “You’re Doing Great”, to his podcast “Breaking Bread”, he’s one of the funniest stand ups in the game today! And now that he’s preparing to head back out on tour for the rest of the year, we thought it was time to catch up with our old friend!

Jerry “The King” Lawler is true wrestling royalty. 168 career championships, an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, as well as being the man behind the greatest work in wrestling history with his “feud” between he and comedian Andy Kauffman. But on Sept 10th 2012, he had just finished a match and had returned to the broadcast table on the WWE Raw live broadcast when he had a near-fatal cardiac arrest. His heart stopped for 22 minutes, paramedics hit him with the paddles 7 times…and he miraculously lived. And this morning we talked to him about the 10th anniversary of that terrifying night.

While over the years there have been a lot of rock guitar players who were game changers…Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen to name two…in 1987, guitarist Joe Satriani turned the guitar world on it’s ear with the release of his album “Surfing With The Alien” that put solo virtuosic guitar front and center unlike never before! And, along the way, he taught the likes of Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai, Alex Skolnick, Larry Lalonde and more how to play, launching countless careers, as well as playing with the likes of Deep Purple, Mick Jagger and the supergroup, Chickenfoot! And now he’s released a new album, The Elephants of Mars, and is heading out on a new tour! And we got the chance to talk to the legend himself today!

For 29 years, Mitch Holthus the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs...he's been through the good, the bad and the ugly ups and downs of Chiefs Kingdom. And it would be easy, after almost 3 decades, to be jaded...but as we roll into the new season, you can hear the excitement in Mitch's voice about Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and the entire team's chances at going all the way this year!!

Actor Scott Grimes got his start in the business while still in his teens, but he ended up growing into a career that led him to roles on such series as, “ER”, “Party of Five”, the Hulu series, “The Orville” and the HBO mini-series, “Band of Brothers”…but for the last 17 seasons most know him as Steve Smith on the animated series, “American Dad!”…and we got to meet Scott for the first time today!!

The friendship between the Morning Show and comedy great Larry The Cable Guy is a long one! We met him when he was still working clubs and calling radio stations to do his commentaries…and we’ve watched him grow to become one of the biggest selling comedians in the country…and then, if that weren’t enough, we watched his star rise even further with his work as Mater in the “Cars” movies. And now that his new limited-run animated series, “Cars On The Road” is debuting on Disney Plus, we figured it was time to catch up with our old friend!!

Most of you know that our gal Nycki just had major neck surgery...and we know you all have been concerned about  how she's doin'...so now that she's home from the hospital and resting up, we decided to give her a call...and we had to make sure it wasn't when she was all pilled up!! And one thing we learned?  Bein' on the mend from a major surgery, medicated and resting has NOT dulled that little ball of hate one f**kin' bit!!!

Novelist Whitley Strieber was already a successful writer before he started making headlines over his story of being abducted by aliens, telling his tale in his 1985 book, “Communion” And this story is delved into even deeper in the new Discovery Plus documentary, “The Visitors” The doc is hosted by Melissa Tittl, who has built a career for herself with shows like “UFO Witness” and “Ancient Aliens”…and she stopped by the show this morning to tell us more!

Harrison Burton is one of the up & coming stars of NASCAR…having started racing go-karts at age 2, moving on to Quarter Midgets by age 4, winning multiple championships before his teens, racing in the truck series by age 16…and now at age 21, taking the Cup Series by storm! And with him rolling into Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 this weekend, we figured it was time to meet NASCAR’s new kid!!

When you get right down to it, actor Anthony Michael Hall has appeared in some of the most beloved movies of our time. Vacation, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club Edward Scissorhands, and The Dark Knight, just to name a few. And even though he’s had a few bumps in the road along the way, he seems to have navigated what could have ended up like so many child actor stories, to become an elder statesman of the Brat Pack generation. And now, he has a new film that brings the story of “The Breakfast Club” to a new generation of younger audiences, “The Class”…and we talked to him all about it this morning!

Our friends in Sevendust are busier than ever these days. They're wrapping up work on their upcoming new album...they're set to head out on another leg of their "Animosity 20th Anniversary" tour....and they have more big things on the horizon! But one thing has been on frontman Lajon Witherspoon's mind lately...and that's the fact that he worked in the same mall that was featured in the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things", in the same time period the show is set in...and he figures there ain't NO WAY he isn't one of those characters! Ha!! Lajon gave us a call this more to explain that theory and more!

We've had a LOT of bad ideas on this show...buying a personal helicopter might be the worst yet...or is it?!??!
