On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: Saudi Arabia says it's going to allow Christian Churches. It's being called a historic decision. This is good news. More good news on top of the good news about North Korea. Prior to this agreement Christians couldn't freely practice in Saudi Arabia. Now, through a peaceful agreement, successful dialogue that's changing. There was no holy war, no crusades in fact there wasn’t even a single protest. Personally I think this is a very positive indication for the possibility of world peace. I know it almost sounds childish to say that and, you might be asking what does this have to do with peace. I'll explain that but, why is world peace such a crazy idea? Why is the idea of different religions peacefully respecting each other so hard to comprehend? Is it because we've been led to believe it's not possible? We've been told for decades now that religion is obsolete and that the other religion is evil, bad and violent. Here's my questions on this: In a world that seems to be moving so progressively what does it about a country that has to change its laws to allow certain religious practices?Why should people be free to practice their faith?What does this say about the future of religion?And, how is this tied to the prospects for world peace? On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: Easy money has been one of the most successful advertising scams in history. Maybe because it works so well. Who doesn't want some easy money and live the good life.  No work, you can just relax, do whatever you want, whenever you want. It sounds great. I'm wondering if people are looking at this a little differently. My way of looking at this was work hard >  save money > make some investments > live the easy life. The easy life was the prize for working hard and being smart. But I think a lot of people are saying hey, why not just skips steps 1-3 and jump right to step 4! 4 out of 10 men in their 20s and 30s would marry a partner who earns more than they do so that their spouse can pay their debts. More than half say that wealth is a factor when selecting a partner.   If that's the mindset how do you think those same people are voting? Some people are saying 48% of people under 30 support the idea of Universal Basic Income. On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: A plastic bottle can take 450 years to decompose and every year we dump billions of them. Now their finding plastic particles hidden in sea ice. It's spread everywhere and it's contaminating everything. I have never understood why we use plastic water bottles and plastic shopping bags. Plastic has been one of the great modern inventions. It's used in everything from cell phones to cars. It's incredible. But plastic water bottles, plastic bags and plastic in most clothing is unnecessary and it's polluting the planet. Every year we use approximately 1.6 million barrels of oil just for producing plastic water bottles. Normally, plastic items can take up to 1000 years to decompose in landfills. But plastic bags we use in our everyday life take 10-1000 years to decompose, while plastic bottles can take 450 years or more. Here's another one: Just in the United States alone, every year more than 18 billion disposable diapers are thrown away. These disposable diapers take approximately 250-500 years to decompose in landfills, Paper on the other hand: Based on volume, paper the largest element in American landfills. Normally, it takes 2-6 weeks for landfills to get completely decomposed. Bottom line: Why are we doing this? So hit the play button! On this episode of the Christopher Scott Talk Show Podcast: North Korea has agreed to end its nuclear program even calling for outside inspectors to supervise the decommissioning. And, North Korea and South Korea have agreed to finally end the Korean War. Is this the beginning of world peace or at least some hope it's possible? When I was a child I really believed I’d see world peace in my lifetime. I thought we’d evolve out of the need to cause mass death to settle differences that somehow we’d find a better way. As I got older I became cynical because I understand there are differences in basic beliefs that make it difficult to co-exist peacefully. But, even with that, the borders have been drawn why do we need wars? Just a few months ago we all thought we were headed for WW3. Now there's peace.
