Derek Prince Legacy Radio 15 Minute Format

Derek begins this study by stressing that the Word of God, the Scripture, is the only source of true authority. His concern is that it is being systematically undermined and, very often, by those who profess to represent God. Using the statements of Jesus about males and females and marriage, Derek makes clear what is the basis for human relationships and family order. It has never changed.

Derek finishes this week's theme with a retelling of his adventure with God in the Sudan. Then he looks at the Parable of the Pearl of Great Price. Did you realize that you are that pearl to God? Out of the suffering of an oyster comes a pearl. Likewise, out of the suffering of Jesus, you came forth to be His. That is how valuable you are!

Derek looks at the Parable of the Treasure in the Field to confront you listeners with your importance in God's sight. You are not insignificant or worthless but a treasure to Him; and very valuable. You are the son or daughter that God wanted, and very special to Him. Derek then relates a story from his own life about digging the treasure out of someone he knew.

Examining the events of The Fall and Eve’s dialogue with the serpent, Derek points out that there are three downward steps Eve took concerning the Word of God. First, she doubted God's Word. Next, she disbelieved it. And, finally, she disobeyed it. But in God’s infinite mercy, He sent Jesus to bring us back to Himself.

Derek goes into detail of how a lump of clay was formed by God—a perfect sculpture. He breathed into that clay so that it became a living soul. We are the divine workmanship created for one supreme purpose—to have fellowship with God. Unfortunately, man fell, and this fellowship was separated. But that's not the end of the story!

Derek intends that we should learn to value ourselves and to see why we are valuable to God. Derek points out that Lucifer was created as "The Shining One," but pride developed in him and he fell. Man, on the other hand, was created in a humble state but made in the image and likeness of God. The purpose of man is to have dominion over all the earth. He is to rule on earth for God.

Derek finishes this week’s message with an appeal for listeners to respond if they feel the Lord is moving on them. Will you commit to pray for your nation? This is not just an appeal for England where the message was given, but it speaks to all of us to commit to being intercessors for our nation, wherever we live.

Today Derek points out the basic need of Israel: that the Holy Spirit will give them a revelation of who Jesus is, and that we are just like them. Without the work of the Holy Spirit to give to us the grace, supplication, and revelation we need, we are like a dry, dusty desert in need of rain to bring life to the seeds that are buried there.

From Scripture, Derek shares today God’s perspective on the wicked of this age. Psalm 73 pictures the meditations of the righteous regarding why the wicked are not judged in the here and now, but the Psalm ends by foreseeing their future. God has a day for them, but is waiting in His mercy for all those He has chosen to come into salvation.

Today we look at the need to acknowledge that God is sovereign over all in life and death, and that He will have the final word. Derek addresses the increase in evil in the world today and how we must keep our hearts and minds set on the purpose of God—that He will one day avenge it all.

Derek begins this message by relating an experience he had when the Lord spoke to him concerning what transpires when God’s people cry out to Him in desperation. When people come to a place of total helplessness and dependence on Him and cry out, God will come to the rescue.

Finishing this week’s study, Derek goes over the last three stages of the “love walk.” He then confesses to having not loved as he ought to have many times, and leads us in a prayer asking forgiveness for failure to love one another as Jesus has loved us.

In today’s study, Derek relates an experience of the love of God that was poured out on him through prayer for a group of people in the Sudan. Then he begins to provide a list of steps that will bring God’s love to perfection in us. This he will do over the next few days in a succession of seven stages of character development.

Derek looks at the importance of love in the exercise of our faith and through the operation of spiritual gifts. If we are not using these gifts in an attitude of love, we are operating out of our flesh. This will not be profitable for us personally. We all must make love our aim.
