Does the Church today measure up to the New Testament account? If it does not, it is in need of restoration. But in what areas exactly? Derek tackles this topic using scriptural references – and comparing the Western church with the New Testament pattern.

Today Derek speaks about the vine as presented in the book of Joel – and that is the Church. The restoration of the church is on a parallel with the fig tree: Israel. It’s part of God’s intervention on behalf of His people at the close of the age.

At the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Derek looked at all the scraps of paper inserted in its cracks and crevices and thought that sometimes there seems to be no answer to our needs. The Lord responded that one day He would answer all those prayer requests. So look up.

Today Derek dives into the prophecy found in the book of Joel and draws out with great clarity God’s end-time plan to restore the people with whom He has established a covenant—both Israel and the Church. Today’s message about the restoration of Israel was very clear and easy to understand.

In the midst of all the turmoil around us, we can have confidence that God is working out His master plan and His plan centers in His people. As people committed to Him we can have confidence that God’s ultimate purpose restoration. And, our participating in God’s program for the close of the age hinges on one word—the word “repentance.”

The third form of the fruit of the Spirit is the fruit of peace. From the negative point of view, peace implies the absence of conflict. Certainly, there can be no peace where there is conflict. But to end conflict requires reconciliation. It is important to see that. True peace only comes, however, when two who are at opposition have been reconciled. Peace is made possible only through reconciliation.

Today Derek tackles the second form of fruit, the fruit of joy. Joy is a beautiful word. When God blesses parents with a beautiful baby girl, a name they might choose for her is “Joy.” Altogether, there is something beautiful about joy. However, in order to experience its beauty in our lives, we need to understand the real nature of joy. And, in order to understand that, we must know something about human personality.

Today Derek will deal with the first form of fruit of the Holy Spirit, which is love. First of all, love is primary in the Christian faith. It occupies a place of importance that it shares with nothing else. Ultimately, all that really matters in the Christian life, Paul says, is faith expressing itself through love. External ordinances and rituals are of secondary importance. The center of your whole faith is expressed through love

The fruit of the Spirit in nine forms is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. In speaking about how fruit comes, Derek tells us that we need to bear in mind that both fruit and gifts are equally from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives the gifts; the Holy Spirit also brings forth fruit. Both are equally the will of God

The book of Romans is the source of the today’s installment of Derek’s teaching on the theme of identification. There are three successive phases of this Romans Recipe, each comprising steps that we must follow to accomplish the desire result: identification with Christ.

Derek teaches us today that salvation requires a cooperation between the heart and the mouth. Believing in the heart enables us to achieve righteousness. This is only achieved as we confess with our mouth what we believe in our heart. Make the words of your mouth agree with God’s Word.

Today we find out that it is not enough to know the truth—we must also believe the truth. Knowing is in the mind, but belief is in the heart. Accept the fact that unbelief is a sin—and it is an evil that keeps us from what God has ordained for us.

In today’s talk, Derek uncovers the first of two barriers that come in the way of keeping us from being fully identified with Jesus Christ and what His death has purchased for us. Ignorance is simply a lack of knowledge. We are unaware of promises of our inheritance.

Over the past three weeks, Derek has been showing us how the concept of identification is the key that opens up for us a full understanding of the purpose of the death of Jesus and so enables us to enter into all that He obtained for us through His death.

Interpretation of tongues is the ability, supernaturally given by the Holy Spirit, to present in a known language the meaning of something that has previously been given out in an unknown language. The person who brings the interpretation may be the same person who gave the utterance in the unknown tongue or it may be another person. The Scripture leaves room for either possibility.
