 Inside the Jungle – Episode 171 – I Got Worms | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:08:18

Normally I'm pretty excited about Sunday's. I get to spend the day watching the Bengals and then I get to talk to you about it afterwards. However, I'm really really looking forward to Saturday when I get to go see Dumb and Dumber To. With that said, Dumb and Dumber for me is the greatest flick of all time. I watched it this past weekend with my wife and even though I could recite the entire movie from start to finish, I still laugh out loud at each joke. Much like I spent most of the time watching the Browns and Bengals last Thursday. Laughing. Let's hope I'm not laughing on Sunday and the Bengals get back to winning ways down in the Big Easy! On to the show! In this week's show: As much as Dalton was bad, and lets face it, he was really really really really bad against the Browns. The entire blame should not be put on him alone. It was a total team failure from top to bottom. What's going on with our coordinators? Anthony wrote a great piece about this earlier this week and we discuss it in more depth in this episode. Richard from Virginia calls in to voice his displeasure with the line play on both sides of the ball. We wrapped up the show with our bold prediction, score predictions and shoutouts! Help support the podcast though by going to spnt.tv/patreon. Your support and generosity is very much appreciated! Don't forget to join me immediately following each and every Bengals game for Inside the Jungle POSTGAME! We are the ONLY live call in show that immediately follows the Bengals game.  Inside the Jungle – Episode 149 – 2014 Taste of the NFL | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:39

In 2013 we celebrated episode 100 of this podcast by sending our very own Whodeyfans down to Paul Brown Stadium for the Taste of the NFL. Well, Katie Blackburn invited him I should say. It's that time of year again and Wednesday night marked the 2014 version of the event. Once again our very own Whodeyfans was down among the people, the Bengals players, coaches and staff. Along with his brother-in-law Tommy Huller, the two each recorded some interviews with some of the players. It's awesome that the Bengals have welcomed us back to their event and we hope that we can do it again in 2015! In this week's show: We start the show off with a bang with Mickey on location at Paul Brown Stadium along with his brother-in-law Tommy. The two were our correspondents for the night at the 2014 Taste of the NFL. Anthony and I listen in to the different interviews that Mickey and Tommy recorded. We heard from Tyler Eifert, Jeremy Hill, Dane Sanzenbacher, Margus Hunt, Darqueze Dennard, Giovani Bernard, Vontaze Burfict, Marvin Jones, Russell Bodine and AJ McCarron. We discuss the Bengals signings today, OT Will Svitek and rookie CB Victor Hayward. I know this is a football website but today marks the first day of the World Cup! So Anthony and I offer up our predictions for the winner of the 2014 World Cup. After the show wrapped we again had a blast on the "After Party". Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 148 – QB Contracts and Player Rankings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:07:39

As the calendar flips over to June, it usually marks the starting point for another season of Inside the Jungle. In previous years after the Bengals season would wrap up, we here at the podcast would go our separate ways. But this offseason we made a choice to continue doing the show each and every week for YOU fans and I honestly couldn't be more happy with that decision. You fans have come out each and every week and supported us like crazy. Whether you're watching us live each Wednesday night, downloading the podcasts on your phone, even supporting us through our Patreon campaign, I can't say this enough but I am amazed, humbled, and thankful for the support of the show. We love doing this show because of YOU. So here's to kicking off SEASON FIVE of the podcast! In this week's show: News broke Wednesday afternoon out of San Francisco. Colin Kaepernick's new contact is a 6 year deal worth $110 million and $61 million of that is guaranteed. That's a lot of money for someone who hasn't won a Super Bowl and isn't named Manning or Brady. Andy Dalton's agent is smiling right now. We visited with Jake Liscow from Pro Football Focus to discuss the Top 101 Player List they published recently. Jake touched on a number of topics but explained why certain Bengals players were ranked where they were. The Bengals signed new offensive tackle Chandler Burden. We also offer up our thoughts and prayers to Devon Still and his family as it was announced this week his daughter has been diagnosed with cancer. Bengals nation is with you. We offer up our predictions for the draft pick most likely to be listed as a starter once the Bengals season kicks off in September. What say you? Which of the draft picks do you think will be a starter? After the show wrapped we again had a blast on the "After Party". We were joined via Google+ Hangout by Kurt Campbell in Asheville, NC and the one and only Amas from Dallas, TX! Did you miss the live show? Do you want access to the "After Party"?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 147 – Talking About Practice | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:44

This week at Paul Brown Stadium actual football is being played, well, practiced is more like it. The 2014 Bengals gathered down at the PBS practice fields and weight facilities while one of their marquee players is missing in action. Pro-Bowl tight end Jermaine Gresham is the only player not attending the voluntary workouts. He is under no obligation to attend these workouts and activities. However, he is in a contract year and it does send a weird message to the rest of your teammates who are all working hard this week. Would you want to be the ONLY one not there? Who knows, maybe Gresh has a perfectly valid reason for not being there. After all, it is "voluntary". In this week's show: We're talking about practice! That's right OTA's kicked off this week and we opened up the discussion with the absence of Jermaine Gresham. We also admired 1st round draft pick Darqueze Dennard practicing despite not being under contract. #ballsy Anthony boldly predicts the starting offensive line for September and firmly believes that newly drafted center Russell Bodine will be your starter. What say you? We also discuss Benjarvus Green-Ellis taking third team reps at running back, Marshall Newhouse at LT and also the return game in Special Teams has been missing that game changing X-factor. Doc Ox called in to get our take on Pro Football Focus calling AJ Green "overrated". Anthony, Mickey and I both believe that there is no way AJ Green should be 97th on this list. After the show wrapped we again had a blast on the "After Party". We were joined via Google+ Hangout by Kurt Campbell in Asheville, NC and much to our surprise at the end of the night, the one and only JUNGLEJOHN called in to discuss his thoughts on the Bengals. It was great to finally put a voice to the screenname. Did you miss the live show? Do you want access to the "After Party"? Check out the details on how to get these by logging on to spnt.tv/patreon.  Inside the Jungle – Episode 146 – A Difference of Opinion | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:20:16

The Bengals are getting set to kick off their "voluntary" offseason workouts in a few weeks with some fresh faces in new places. We discussed the draft and some of the College Free Agent signings this week with good friend of the show Geoff Hobson from Bengals.com. We're just a few weeks away from REAL football! Only six more weeks until Training Camp begins! What are you looking forward to seeing most this fall? A revamped rushing attack? A ball control offense? A playoff win? In this week's show: We welcome in good friend of the show Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com to discuss the latest developments surrounding the Bengals. From the draft to Free Agency and the injury recoveries of Leon Hall and Geno Atkins. It's all here in this podcast episode. The phone lines were on fire tonight as we had some great calls from the usual suspects Fatal Content and John from KY. Adam, Eric called in but Chris from Dayton brought the house down at the end of the show with his passion. He feels this team will go 4-12 this season. What say you? We gave out our usual shoutouts and read an awesome iTunes review from Brett. Also, as many of you listeners know, we mention the Rolsen family quite often on the program. Richard, Lenny and Larry usually find the time to call into the program and when they're not calling in, they're tuned in and active in the chat room. This week, Larry suffered a stroke. We ask that you keep the Rolsen family in your thoughts and prayers this week and hope for a speedy recovery for Aloha Larry! From everyone here at CincyJungle.com and SPNT.tv, we're thinking about you Larry! Get well soon! After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party". Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 145 – Recapping the 2014 Draft | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:26:33

Well now that months, and months, and months of waiting for the Draft has finally ended, how do you feel the Bengals did this year? I've seen positive reviews all over the place from some of the national pundits. I've seen some pretty scathing reviews of this year's draft as well. I was one of those fans who went off the deep on the final day of the draft. It was right about the time the Kansas City Chiefs foolishly took Aaron Murray, one spot before the Bengals were on the clock. Ha. The Chiefs are going to regret that pick someday. What were they thinking!? I made no secret over the past few weeks on the show that I'd like to see the Bengals select Murray. At least we got the quarterback who's beaten him a few times in the SEC. How many other teams can say their 3rd string quarterback has 2 BCS Championship rings? In this week's show: We welcome Timm Bates back to the program this week and the 4 of us discuss Darqueze Dennard, the Bengals first round pick in 2014. With the selection of Dennard, the Bengals now have 5 first round picks at Cornerback. Solid. We welcomed in Paul Dehner from the Cincinnati Enquirer to discuss the QB situation, the Draft and CFA's the Bengals signed and more. Paul's the man and his coverage of the Bengals at the Enquirer is top notch. The Jungle Line was buzzing tonight, lots of calls and fans with questions about the draft and their take on how the Bengals did this past weekend. We gave out our usual shoutouts and read an awesome email from Cathal in Dublin, Ireland! After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party". Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 144 – NFL Draft Eve | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:25

Congrats Bengals fans! You've made it! The day has finally come! The NFL Draft will kickoff later today in New York City and the Bengals will be picking 24th. So many variables and possibilities are running through my head. Do they take a cornerback? Do they take a defensive tackle? An offensive tackle? A WR, or RB? Will one of the big name quarterbacks slip to them at 24, should they trade up to get Johnny Manziel if he's available? We'll all find out later tonight! In this week's show: Anthony and I discuss some of the positions at play for the Bengals at 24. I quiz Anthony on some NFL Draft Trivia and the dude didn't disappoint. Richard called in and asked who we attributed the most recent success in the NFL Draft to. Is it Coach Lewis? Mike Brown? Katie Blackburn? Scouting Department? We gave out our usual shoutouts. This week we shouted out Beth who tuned in to her first live show and Dan who sent an awesome email from England. After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party" as we continued to discuss the draft and our plans for our live show Thursday night. Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 143 – The Goodberry Perspective | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:17:19

We're almost there Bengals fans! Just 7 more days between now and the biggest night of the offseason. Round 1 of the NFL Draft. As a Bengals fan, this is the time of year we get excited, this has been stripes bread and butter. Every year since 2010 this franchise has drafted better than almost anyone in the league. For all you fans who were up in arms two months ago when free agency started and watched as the Bengals stood pat and did NOTHING, let's hope they used that time to prepare for the draft. They've had an extra 3 weeks to prepare, no excuses! So the question I pose to you is which position do they draft in Round 1? Cornerback? Running back? O-line, or better yet, QB???? 7 more days Bengals fans! It's almost here! In this week's show: We welcome back Mr. Mock Draft himself Joe Goodberry who fills us in on his draft thoughts and who he feels would be great fits for the Bengals. Here is the link to his big board and First Round mock draft. In Joe's first round mock he has the Bengals taking Darqueze Dennard from MSU, but a lot of Bengals fans have their eyes on Jason Verrette from TCU or Justin Gilbert from Oklahoma State. If those 3 are available at 24, who would you choose? Anthony asked Joe a great question, much to the chagrin of Mickey, about which players he hopes the Bengals avoid in this years draft. We continue our Position Breakdown Series by looking at season that the defensive line. Most of the focus was on Carlos Dunlap's year as well as the surprise of Wallace Gilberry. After reviewing the stats though, Devon Still's 2013 wasn't great, 10 games, 7 tackles? Yikes. After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party" as we relived some most discussion about Andy Dalton and where he would fit in this years draft class. Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 142 – The Schedule Release and LB’s | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:56

The NFL has come a long way. Do you think the founders of the league would have ever seen the day where the release of THE SCHEDULE would have a primetime slot on televisions in this country? It just goes to show how popular this sport really is. I would bet large sums of money that the ratings for the schedule release were higher than 85% of the baseball games televised Wednesday night. Now that the schedules are out, what do you make of the Bengals slate in 2014? Should be a fun one to dissect over the next few months leading up to kickoff on September 7th! In this week's show: We take our initial look at the 2014 schedule for the Cincinnati Bengals. They spend most of November on the road but in warm/dome climates, then have two games with the Steelers in the month of December. What do you make of the schedule? Do you like the early bye in week 4? We discuss the Bengals exercising the option for the 2015 in AJ Green's contract. As if we hadn't debated Andy Dalton enough on this podcast, we ventured down that road again. This time we debate the comments made this week in the local media and how he handles himself after big game losses in press conferences. Is this much ado about nothing? Were his comments this week ill-advised? We continue our Position Breakdown Series by looking at season that the LB's had in 2013. Most of the focus was on Vontaze Burfict and his contract negotations. Are you afraid his level of commitment may drop once he's been paid? Which of the LB's was the most improved in 2013? After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party" as we relived some great films by the Farrely brothers (Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There's Something About Mary). Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 141 – Cornering the Draft | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:18:00

We are now 3 weeks away from the biggest night in the NFL offseason, the NFL Draft! How many mock drafts have you read? How many of them do you believe? Will the Bengals take a CB in the first round? How much faith do you put in the Bengals knocking another draft out of the park? They seemed to have really done well with this process the last few years (knock on wood). Let's hope this trend continues in 2014. In this week's show: We discussed the late date of the NFL Draft. Usually around this time we're in prime draft mode but this year its different. Do you like the late draft date? Who do you think it favors more? The teams? The players? We take a look at the offseason schedule over the next 3 months leading up to the first Training Camp practice on July 23rd. We take some fantastic phone calls from Greg, John from Kentucky, Chris from Dayton and Guttersnake. We love hearing from you, so don't be shy! Join us for a live show and have your voice heard. We continue our Position Breakdown Series by looking at season that the CB's had in 2013. Most of the focus was on Dre Kirkpatrick and his "bust" designation. Is this fair? Is he a bust? Chris from Dayton says he'll eat his left Timberland boot if Dre has 6 INT's this fall. I'd love to see it! After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party". Did you miss the live show?  Inside the Jungle – Episode 140 – Playin it Safe | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 57:54

Yes, it's true. Some of you noticed over the past week that the name of the show was changing. We've decided to re-brand the show so that it aligns more closely with the CincyJungle website. The podcast will be the same format and still hosted by yours truly (sorry). You'll still be able to find the show in the same directories and apps, iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn, etc. In this week's show: We discussed the news announced Wednesday regarding the 2014 preseason schedule. The Bengals will have one primetime preseason game in Arizona against their former quarterback. Is this a big deal anymore? It was also announced that Dane Sanzenbacher has signed is tender and is no longer a restricted free agent. Dane had a pretty solid preseason in 2013, can he fill the shoes of Andrew Hawkins? We took a closer look at the Safety group in 2013. Reggie Nelson and George Iloka had pretty solid years. Ultimate vet Chris Crocker played well in relief of Taylor Mays/Leon Hall but will likely not return with the signing of Danieal Manning. The Bengals drafted Shawn Williams a year ago in the third round in what was considered a reach pick. Can he improve and contribute in 2014? After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party". Did you miss the live show? Do you want access to the "After Party"?  The Who-Dey Weekly Podcast – Episode 139 – That’s Tight | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:09:47

This week the owners met in Orlando, FL to discuss some of the rules changes at the Owners Meetings. Mike Brown, who rarely gives media interviews these days, had some pretty interesting comments regarding the franchise and the state of their quarterback. If you're reading between the lines, it sounds as though the Bengals are eager to get an extension done with the Red Rifle but the Dalton camp are feeling like their quarterback may be undervalued by the Bengals. That's pure speculation of course but from the information we do have, Marvin Lewis has staked his claim to Dalton being HIS guy from here on out. Their futures seem to be tied together at the moment. In this week's show: We discussed the news that the Bengals have held off signings some of their bigger free agent players and let them walk due to the uncertainty of the salary cap and the contract talks with Andy Dalton. They want to get a deal done before the season, but should they? We weigh in. We also look at some of the other news around PBS this week, Domata Peka has reached an agreement on an extension and some of the other free agent activity (or lack of) surrounding the club. We took a closer look at the Tight End group in 2013. When looking at the statistical analysis of the two main tight ends, Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert had almost the same exact season. Gresham had 46 catches (a career low) for 458 yards (career low) and 4 TD's (tied for a career low). Eifert in his rookie season had 39 catches for 445 yards and 2 TD's. When polled, Bengals fans tend to feel that in 2014, Tyler Eifert will have a bigger impact than Jermaine Gresham, to the tune of 65%. After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party".  The Who-Dey Weekly Podcast – Episode 138 – The Newest Bengal and the WR’s | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:25:21

It's always good when breaking news happens while we're recording this podcast. Not even one minute into recording the word came out that the Bengals had signed Jason Campbell to a one year deal. Cue the music! That'll get Bengals fans to settle down about Free Agency right? I hope you can sense my sarcasm. Campbell's best days as a quarterback came under Hue Jackson out in Oakland, so it's not a terrible signing. Hopefully it will help the progression of Andy Dalton. In this week's show: It was announced this week that Marvin Lewis and the Bengals had agreed on a contract extension through 2015. Was it deserved? We debated. We also discuss some of the other news, James Harrison being released, the signing of Taylor Mays and Vinny Rey. We also discussed some of the Free Agent visits occurring this week. Robert Ayers visited PBS and left without a deal. WR Louis Murphy is also expected to visit the Queen City soon. We took a closer look at the Wide Receiver group in 2013. Outside of AJ Green and Marvin Jones, you can say that the group was just kind of eh. Sanu had a disappointing year, Hawkins spent half the year sidelined due to injury. Signs are pointing up about Cobi Hamilton who the Bengals drafted a year ago. After the show wrapped we had a blast on the "After Party". Did you miss the live show?  The Who-Dey Weekly Podcast – Episode 137 – Free Agency and a Visit from our pal Geoff Hobson | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:18:44

We hope you enjoyed our bonus episode last night as we talked Day 1 of Free Agency. On this episode of the podcast you're getting the scoop from Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. Geoff has been on the show many times and brings it every single time. This appearance was no different. Geoff talks about the Free Agency plans with the Bengals, the offensive line, Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis. We've heard from both sides of the spectrum though as a few fans called in voicing their disgust for the lack of ambition shown by the club. Which side of the fence do you sit on? In this week's show: This week we kick things off with Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. Geoff was kind enough to hang out with us for about 40 minutes in this episode and it was podcast gold. Geoff feels that the biggest offseason move the Bengals made was the promoting of Hue Jackson to be the Offensive Coordinator. He also thinks that this is exactly what this offense needs. Someone who's not going to make Andy Dalton throw the ball 50 times a game. We opened up the phone lines and spoke with a few Bengals fans, JT rang in to discuss the Bengals lack of ambition in Free Agency and questioning why there is no effort being made to improve this team. What are your thoughts? Should the Bengals be spending money in Free Agency knowing they need to sign Burfict, Green, possibly Collins, Gresham, and (gulp) Dalton? We ran out of time this week and didn't get a chance to give out our shoutouts to the latest contributors and supporters of the podcast. Want access to our bonus content known as "the After Party"?
