Darin and Robert talk about the negative response that some people had to their last podcast together on 2012. They bring up the question as to whether or not we Free Believers have spiritually shut ourselves down to things that remind us of our past life in the church world. After being manipulated by fear for most of our lives many of us simply refuse to accept any word from God if it makes us feel the least bit afraid. After being manipulated into feeling like we need to give money, it\'s real easy to emotionally turn ourselves off the moment we actually feel like we want to give money to someone in the wild. Letting go of the past and allowing an authentic version of everything to happen naturally is what living in the wild is all about.
Darin and Aimee have a great discussion on the popular christian term, \"Walking with God.\" We\'ve all grown up hearing about it over and over, but what in the world does it mean? Some of the terms that are common in the church world end up being the very things that put us under the most amount of bondage. Christians end up focusing on things that are either impossible or completely out of their control. \"Walk with God\" is a term that implies we are separate from Him. When we view our relationship with Him through the lens of human thinking we miss it completely. This is a great discussion that hits the nail on the head.
Darin and Aimee talk about how religion has caused many people to turn mole hills in life into mountains. We have addictions and struggles that we would never have had without the constant laws we were put under. Finding the heart of the message and freedom from all of these things is more than just learning another way of thinking. The answer to what our religion has become is a revelation that can only be given by the Holy Spirit. This is what\'s missing from the mainstream church world. Until people get this revelation of God\'s love, they are destined to sit around and create new laws and formulas our of sheer boredom.
The Evolution of The Message
The Addiction to Affliction
Darin and Amy Ramos have an incredibly deep conversation about the period of isolation that many Free Believers endure when they enter the wild. Christians have been taught to avoid isolation like the plague. We\'re looked down upon and told it will ultimately kill us if we don\'t have constant fellowship in our lives. We\'re also taught to run from any form of suffering. It\'s not by accident that both suffering and isolation go hand in hand with many Christians. Darin and Amy talk about the revelations that each of them have come to in the midst of their deepest times of suffering and isolation. They both talk about how their perspective completely changed, giving them a deeper insight into the kingdom realm. This is perhaps one of the most inspiring conversations we\'ve had on the \"Into the Wild\" show. You may want to post this on your page and bless your friends with it as well. Enjoy!
The Power of Being You
Darin, Aimee and Aida have a great conversation about some of the trials that many Free Believers go through after leaving the institution. Learning how to pray is perhaps one of the most frustrating things for people who want something authentic with God. Most Christians have been taught a thousand and one prayer formulas by their churches. We\'ve also been taught exactly how a Christian hears from God. Unfortunately almost none of these teachings actually work. Walking in the wild and discovering for yourself how you talk to and hear from God is both exciting and frustrating. It has more to do with un-learning then it does with learning.
