The Free Believers Network - Into the Wild

From left to right: Tamie, Danielle and Stacey. Tamie lives in Utah and has 2 children Danielle lives in Arizona and has six children with one on the way. Three of her six were adopted and came from a situation of terrible abuse. Stacey lives in California and has two children Darin speaks with three Free Believer women who are raising children outside of the typical church culture. The discussion is about whether or not we can "train" our children to know God. Is parenting about teaching obedience, and getting our kids to think like us or is it about connecting with them and encouraging heart-living? Letting go of the parenting-standards of the religious past is perhaps the most difficult thing to do when it comes to rearing children in the wild.  

 Darin, Brian and Robert discuss the tweaked mentality that believers have adopted from the IC concerning giving. Rediscovering the intimacy of giving is key in any believers life. Living in the wild is all about taking back the things that have been stolen by institutionalism and the subject of giving has created an immediate turn off in people's minds. Recovering from this mindset sometimes takes years.

Darin and Aimee talk about true fellowship and how so many Christians are conditioned to not have it. We have been trained to accept phony friendships in our lives and many of us find it difficult to recognize the real thing when it's stand right in front of us. This is a great show for anyone living in the wild and trying to rebuild their life. 

Darin and Aimee talk about what it is that people get hung up on when hearing the message. This conversation goes to the very heart of why people can't understand the Free Believer's website and why they usually see it as anti-church. Being able to separate our church system and God from each other is key to understanding the true heart of the Father. Until we can do that, we will always get hung up on churchy thinking because we'll believe it's from God Himself. 

Darin and Robert talk about the point you get to with some people where you just have to dismiss them because they aren't going to "get it" on your watch. As Christians we are always taught that we have to keep trying with everyone. This simply isn't true. While we obviously don't turn our hearts away from anyone, there is a point when it's time to just let some people go.

Darin, Brian and Robert have a "guys night out" and talk seriously about how political correctness has affected Christianity over the last fifty years. Darin and Aimee talk about how as a Free Believer we have to spend time unlearning what we've been taught about how God works in our lives. Allowing our perceptions of God to fall away can sometimes be a life long process. This discussion centers around the Christian teaching that we've all grown up with about God having a plan for our lives and what that mentality creates in each of our hearts. This is a tough topic, but one worth thinking about.  

Darin and Aimee talk about leaving the institutional version of worship and learning to find the true essence of what worship is in the wild. Opening our heart to the possibilities of something entirely different than what we've grown up seeing, can be intimidating for a new Free Believer. Worship is perhaps the biggest ball and chain that the Institutional system uses to keep it's people. You'll enjoy this show.

Darin and Robert talk with Wayne Jacobsen talk about the "The Shack" and how its sales have opened a new line of thought for Christians everywhere. Wayne speaks openly about how his life has changed over the last eighteen months since "The Shack" was first released. The three also discuss how Americas religious leaders are handling what this best selling book has to say. This is a great conversation that every free believer should be in on. 

Darin, Aimee and Robert talk about the power of tradition and how it blinds people’s hearts and minds from truth. Tradition is perhaps the biggest obstacle that we have to overcome in order to become a Free Believer. Confronting tradition and standing on truth is the only means of survival for many of us in the wild.

I think she has one of the most amazing hearts of anyone I've even known. Many of us feel like our decision to live in the wild is only valid if we left on our own without being hurt or pushed out of Church. Darin, Brian and Robert Ramos have an all guy discussion about the need for modern day Christians to be more real than spiritual. Institutional Christianity tends to create an Amish-like society that is impossible for regular people to relate too. This is a great talk about taking a serious look at how we talk and act through the eyes of normal people. Robert is Darin’s brother-in-law.
