This week Perfect Blue is up for review. Directed by the late Satoshi Kon, this vintage 1997 anime combines drama, horror, and mystery to make a brilliant psychological thriller. No blurays are currently in the works but you can still find the DVD out there for a hefty price unfortunately. "The Secret World of Arrietty" based upon a novel called "The Borrowers" was recently released in theaters in the US. Carter and Matt got around to seeing it and finally reviewing this latest Studio Ghibli film. Hey guys welcome to the new but also old Anime.Sr that you've all come to know and love. We decided to shake things up a bit this season, Al's work has finally become so overwhelming that he is no longer able to record on a given schedule so we pulled our good friend "Matt" who will be taking over from here on in. You may remember "Matt" from the AX 2011 shows where he was referred to as [Airquote] Matt as well as the "fact checker". Hopefully you all enjoy. In this episode Carter and Matt discuss the goings on in upcoming anime as well as put out a tentative schedule. Be on the look for new episodes every Tuesday afternoon!  

We start our Hayao Miyazaki marathon / reviewathon ... with this timeless classic right out of the 80s. Kind of a boring review overall but to be honest we were both too infatuated with Patrick Stewart to really pay much attention to the actual movie (or maybe just Al was).
