This week, the AHL West news hit the fan with teams buying, selling, and completely making the silly season come in full force just at the start of the year. Scotty will try to sort it all out, but could leave you more confused as ever. One thing not confusing is Olie Kolzig's reasoning to step down to a development coaching role and how he's adjusting to it, Drew MacIntrye is not confused with his place in AHL history, the Columbus Cottonmouths players aren't confused with why they moved down from Edmonton, while the AHL and ECHL All-Star announcements will be as confusing as you let it. All that, some news and notes and We Hardly Knew YeAHL All-Star Rosters: http://theahl.com/rosters-announced-ahl-all-star-classic-p195655ECHL All-Star Starters: http://www.echl.com/starters-named-for-echl-all-star-team-p195663ECHL All-Star Reserves: http://www.echl.com/reserves-and-alternates-named-for-all-star-classic-p195683

Big news this week out of Oklahoma City and not just from the head coach being promoted. Scotty discusses how the Barons ceasing operations could bring major changes to the minor league hockey landscape; especially the possible fast-tracking of the AHL West. Not only that, but the Hamilton Bulldogs were in the news for remarks made during the ground-breaking of a new arena in Laval, Quebec. In better news, the Fort Wayne Komets could have found the best parent affiliation they can handle as the Colorado Avalanche are happy with the early results thus far. Two goalies end it out, with Allen York playing better due to stability and Parker Milner having the fastest promotion and demotion known to man. Not to be outdone, some news and notes, plus We Hardly Knew Ye.

In a very AHL heavy episode of the Farm Report, Scotty talks about how Mikhail Grigorenko is adjusting to his slumps in his tenure with Rochester and how he will work to break out of it. The Utica Chamber of Commerce is betting on the the Comets staying in town and with helpful words from Trevor Linden, it's best for new businesses to go ahead and keep building in downtown Utica. Jason Akeson is going to try to build his resume more in order to get back to Philadelphia as he didn't expect to be in Allentown, much like how TJ Brennan didn't expect to go from Long Island to Rockford-- but mentally, he knows how to adjust. All that, plus a couple of milestones this weekend, a contract extension for a coach, and We Hardly Knew Ye.

This week in the Farm Report, we'll talk about Scooter Vaughan's versatility earning him a deeper role for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Connor Hellebuyck's learning curve earning him more starts in St. John's, and Alex Aleardi's demotion that he's using as a learning tool to get back into the AHL. Getting back into hockey is only part of Tristan Lysko's story, as he looks to move up the ladder of minor pro hockey, while the month of November ended with tons of awards, a ceremonial games, and a coach firing. All that, plus We Hardly Knew Ye.

In a holiday week, there's still some to talk about-- especially as the Albany Devils took center stage in Atlantic City in another game at the Boardwalk Hall...and who knows what that could mean for the rebuilding city. The ECHL's head honcho took his first official tour of the Quad Cities and had plenty of glowing reviews, which is great for Mallards supporters. There's still a transition period going on for some CHL teams going into the ECHL, as Wichita and Missouri are trying to find their footing with different looks at their rosters. Speaking of transitions, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are looking to see how some of their physical players could keep up their edge-- without getting those pesky suspensions. All that, some news and notes and, of course, We Hardly Knew Ye.

The Frozen Dome Classic broke some records, so we have to start with that-- all the reaction from the game and what it could mean for Syracuse in the future. Justin Fox was sly like a fox when it came to taking the summer to play hockey in Australian, which has helped him to a great start in the ECHL. Matt Case is constant in Idaho, while Eriah Hayes knows the trip from Worcester to San Jose very well. The AHL Hall of Fame class was named for this year, while it was a record setting night for the SPHL on Friday with the women in that game taking center stage. All that, plus Rocco Grimaldi's double-header, shake-ups in the Wild minor league nets, and We Hardly Knew Ye.
