Podcasts:
The last part of our five-part series focuses on celebrating the end of a big race and what to do in the aftermath. We also discuss Jeff’s problems with his iPod, why we get hooked on events or running in general, and some comments from our listeners.
Jeff and I talk about an unofficial race that we helped organize as part of a work event, opinions on our new shoes, and part 4 of 5 in our series: dealing with adversity. Next week, we’ll have our final show on celebrating your achievements.
This week, I talk about my first sprint triathlon (yes, I’m hooked), my Arts Festival 10K rave, and being kidnapped and taken to Las Vegas for an early 40th birthday celebration. Andrew is the best vacation planner ever!
My first sprint triathlon is four days away. Jeff and I talk about my plans, unhealthy estimates, stuff fears, and excitement. This week we also discuss our creation of a training plan (part three of our series). Past episodes covered goals and assessment.
I’m in New York City and got to have a chat with Brandon Wood, professional opera singer and host of Brandon’s Marathon Podcast. We talk about triathlon training, running with a positive attitude, and being part of the podcasting community.
We follow up last week’s topic of setting race goals with a discussion on assessing your body and listening to the “good sore” feeling. We also talk about our plans to run the Philadelphia and Dam Full marathons, my dizziness problem from earlier in the week, and Jeff surprises me with a memento.
YAY! Jeff is back on the podcast after being away in May. This week, is the first part of a multi-podcast series that will cover setting goals, assessing your current state, creating a plan, dealing with adversity, and celebrating your achievements. We also talk about some of our plans from now through 2011, Jeff’s “Five-for-Six” plan, Jeff’s Weight Watchers update, Nike+, some listener feedback, and more.
It’s a lovely multi-sport day here in State College, PA. I talk about workouts of convenience, Clif Quench, Brandon’s Crocs and chia seeds, competitive runners, gear lists and multisport assumptions, podcasting gear, Dean Karnazes, runner’s knee, and doing a 70.3 Ironman or 50-mile ultra event.
This week, I talk a bit about my ongoing triathlon training. Although I didn’t plan it, I mention Brandon (from Brandon’s Marathon Podcast) about a dozen times on this podcast. That’s okay. He has been my inspiration to do my first triathlon and has guided me through equipment and training, so it seems appropriate.
The major topic this week is the cycle-thon, clinic which was my first group ride (for charity of course). It was a beautiful day. My bike was running nicely. I was having a blast – until – EPIC WIPEOUT! Helmets are a good thing!
Jeff and I talk about my minor bike accident, Jeff’s dead legs, vitamins and medication, Ashland Dave (who is going to keep podcasting after his equipment is working), the Buckeye Outdoors challenge, Tri Suit fits, and some stomach issues. Happy Easter!
Thanks to Kelownagurl for letting me know about Ultradad’s status and helping me heal my “bike injury”. The other segment is about Brandon’s Marathon and the difficulties of balancing family, work, training, and podcasting.
Jeff is back this week. We talk a bit about my new bike, treatment an attempt at buying a triathlon suit, order some problems with running motivation, and several notes that we received about running ultramarathons. Good luck to Brandon Wood, who is completing this first marathon as I write this.
This week, I made a short podcast about getting my first road bike, a virtual sprint triathlon that I did this week, Brandon’s upcoming marathon and IT Band issues, Dave’s marathon PR, and a comment from Jim about rollerblading and the Goofy Challenge.
This week, Jeff and I talk about my bike purchase, getting back into longer runs outside, Jeff’s Weight Watcher progress, Borateem versus Borax, the Back on My Feet article from Runner’s World, and a ton of mail and comments that we’ve gotten from our listeners. Thanks for writing in everyone! Also, good luck to Dave from Running in the Center of the Universe and Brandon from Brandon’s Marathon, who are both running marathons this month.
