That discussion about Rogers results in us comparing the Steelers wide receiver depth chart to that of the New England Patriots. We move along in this show to talk about how former Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant seems to be fitting in with the Oakland Raiders and their new head coach Jon Gruden. We also compare Gruden’s coaching style to that of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. The Cleveland Browns were back in the news Sunday night with them trading wide receiver Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills. We discuss that move and provide a soft season preview of the Browns with a quick look at their roster. Is Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert already Hall of Fame worthy? Does he need to win at least one more Super Bowl to become a slam dunk candidate? We discuss that topic at the end of this show. Season 9, Episode 4 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get things started by talking about football now being back with the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame game being played Thursday night. We go over the Pittsburgh Steelers updated training camp list of injured players that now includes wide receiver Antonio Brown. Additionally, we talk about the Steelers transactions that took place on Thursday and quickly profile new tight end Bucky Hodges. Will wide receiver Eli Rogers start the 2018 regular season on the Steelers Reserve/PUP list? David and I discuss the possibility of that happening based entirely on when he had his ACL surgery and what general manager Kevin Colbert had to say about the former undrafted free agent a few days ago. The implementation of the new helmet lowering rule is sure to be a talking point during the preseason so David and I hit on that subject and how it is written. The Steelers had two players rank high on Pro Football Focus for their special teams play last season so David and I go over who they are in addition to a few other current players and what their impacts may or not be on special teams in 2018. We close this show out with a look ahead at the Steelers Friday Night Lights practice that will take place later in the evening. Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was working on his hand strength in a strip club a few nights ago so David and I discuss the reaction to that in addition to how he’s likely viewed now by most of the team’s fanbase. How important is the first third of training camp related to the remaining two-thirds? We try to have a conversation about that in addition to going over how hard it is to get new players up-to-speed after camp and the preseason is over. Season 9, Episode 1 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get things started by taking a quick look back at how this show originally came about and how we think it has evolved over the years. After reminiscing a little, David and I move on to talk about the opening of the 2018 Pittsburgh Steelers training camp and that includes going over the main talking points from reporting day. We discuss the coaching of Mike Tomlin and how he has handled his recent criticism from former outside linebacker James Harrison. As part of that discussion we discuss how Tomlin differs from New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. We go over what transpired on the fields of Saint Vincent College Thursday afternoon and if there were any real surprises during the team’s first training camp practice of 2018. We go over the early camp transactions and that includes the team re-signing wide receiver Eli Rogers. Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley recently signed a lucrative contract extension, so David and I review his deal specifics and compare them to the offer we think Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell recently turned down. The Steelers hope to have defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt and Cameron Heyward on the field together a lot more than they have the last two seasons. I have some interesting snap counts for us together related to that topic to go over. How worried are we about the Steelers defense in 2018? We go over our concerns and if we feel the unit has a chance to be top-10 in 2018. We talk about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger arriving fit and trim this year and discuss a few more players the Steelers need solid efforts and full health from in 2018. Season 8, Episode 127 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Tuesday show, David Todd is back in the main chair and we get things started by talking about the rules of the training camp Active PUP list. From there, we talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers still trying to sign safety Terrell Edmunds, the team’s first round draft pick, with training camp reporting day being Wednesday. Free agent wide receiver Eli Rogers is currently on the visit trail and so David and I discuss his plight to find a new team and why it is that he maybe hasn’t re-signed with the Steelers. From there, we discuss this year’s wide receiver depth chart with camp about to get underway. On Monday I released my final 53-man roster prediction ahead of training camp starting and David and I quickly review it. We also cover the top storylines for the Steelers that we’ll be watching over the course of the next several weeks. Is this year’s group of undrafted free agents the best the Steelers have had in several years? We discuss that topic in addition to talking about how just one UDFA has managed to make the Steelers initial 53-man roster in a span of the last four seasons.
