We highlight how Friday will be an interesting day of practice when it comes to DT Cameron Heyward and ILB Elandon Roberts after both sat out on Thursday. The Packers are dealing with some key injuries this week with the most notable being CB Jaire Alexander. We cover the latest regarding their health situation heading into Friday. Steelers coordinators Matt Canada and Teryl Austin both held their weekly media sessions on Thursday, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those two press conferences. We also talk briefly about a few comments made by a couple of Steelers players since our Wednesdays show. With the Steelers hosting the Packers on Sunday, Alex and I are joined by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex and I quickly talk about the early health outlook for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of their Week 10 Sunday home game against the Green Bay Packers. This is based on what head coach Mike Tomlin had to say on Tuesday during his press conference. That means we discuss the Sunday outlook for S Minkah Fitzpatrick in-depth. There are a few interesting trends to discuss ahead of the Sunday game against the Packers thanks to the Steelers announcing on Tuesday that they will be wearing their block numeral throwbacks for that contest. Tomlin’s weekly press conference provided quite a few juicy talking points for us to discuss during this Wednesday show. Those talking points include rookie tackle Broderick Jones likely remaining the starter on Sunday against the Packers on the right side. I have Alex look into his crystal ball when it comes to who he thinks will be the Steelers’ starting tackles come week One of the 2024 season. Tomlin also addressed the current situation with frustrated WR George Pickens on Tuesday, so we obviously discuss all that he had to say on that topic. Every team in the AFC North won in Week Nine so Alex and I make sure to go over the state of that division entering Week 10. The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few transactions on Monday morning, so we discuss that news in addition to a few fines that NFL handed down to players over the weekend related to Week Eight action. Is Steelers WR George Pickens a distraction right now due to his attitude? Is he going to be a problem for the team moving forward and will he ultimately see a second contract in Pittsburgh? Alex and I dive into all of the questions and more related to Pickens. We have now hit the 20-game mark for Steelers QB Kenny Pickett, so Alex and I take time in this episode to evaluate him and go over the good, bad, and ugly related to his overall play so far.
