In this Monday morning show, Alex and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers losing to the Cleveland Browns on the road on Sunday and how it was a winnable game at the end of it. Before going into our breakdown of the Steelers’ Sunday loss, Alex and I quickly go over the Saturday transactions made by the team in addition to recapping the pregame inactive list. We also discuss the one injury that we know about from Sunday's game. It sounds like the Steelers will be signing veteran ILB Myles Jack this week and possibly free agent DB Eric Rowe as well. We go over that latest news regarding those two players on this Monday. As you would expect, Alex dive deep into recapping the Steelers' Sunday loss to the Browns. We start on offense and talk about the poor play of QB Kenny Pickett and especially on third downs. We make sure to give Steelers RB Jaylen Warren his kudos for his play on Sunday. We discuss several individual plays from Sunday's game on the offensive side of the ball and make sure to recap how poor the final two possessions were. We move on to discuss the play of the Steelers' defense on Sunday against the Browns and how that unit did enough to secure a win. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex and I get right to talking about the breaking news concerning Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson being shut down for the remainder of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury. The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Browns on Sunday in Cleveland so the Watson news will result in the Browns playing either Dorian Thompson-Robinson or P.J. Walker at quarterback. It sounds like the Browns’ starter might be Thompson-Robinson, according to some breaking news during this show. The Steelers have made quite a few transactions since our last show, so Alex and I roll through recapping those moves. We talk about TE Pat Freiermuth potentially returning to action on Sunday and wonder if S Minkah Fitzpatrick might be able to return from his hamstring injury as well. We go over the few practice squad transactions made by the Steelers as well. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference on Tuesday and as usual, Alex and I go over the bigger talking points to come out of that media session. We discuss the Steelers situation at inside linebacker due to recent injuries based on what Tomlin said Tuesday. That means we talk a bit about ILB Elandon Roberts and ILB Mark Robinson quite a bit. The Steelers had a significant injury on Sunday as ILB Kwon Alexander has now been lost for the season due to an Achilles injury. We recap that injury and go over the options the Steelers have when it comes to the inside linebacker position on the heels of the team losing Alexander and Cole Holcomb for the season in back-to-back weeks.
