The Roast Beef Curtains Reggae and Rock are probably the best genres for beat matched workouts. Blends of the 2 genres are emerging and that's to our benefit. The beat is unmistakable and motivating. I've got a great mix that features reggae, rock and some mashing of the two. Several JTIP fans have mentioned that they like the interval running episodes, so here's another one. BPMs of 150s to 160s will be interspersed with speed bursts of short second segments of "Barbarella" at 184 by Loomis and the Lust. Their entire track will also appear at the end of this episode. My first new age show was episode #31 and was called Think Positive. It was so well received that I decided to dedicate another episode to new age music. So here's eleven tunes by eleven different artists comprising a 45 minute workout session. It's divided into the typical JTIP segments, a 30 minute sequenced regular running session followed by a 15 minute sequenced sprint section that maxes out at 184 BPM for 3 minutes. Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on this episode's podcast page at JogTunes.com. As always, I welcome your comments.  55: (40 Min - Interval) - Mo McMorrow - BPM Range 120-193 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:08

To experience and enjoy running and working out exactly to the beat of great indie music, please subscribe to the The JogTunes Indie Podcast or get the MP3. Mo McMorrow This month, serendipity reigns. While I was attending a Hedda Layne gig at the Belmont in Austin, Texas, Mo McMorrow was sitting at my table. It didn't take long to find out that she's a singer songwriter and well known on the Austin scene. I checked her tunes out on MySpace. They turned out to be great music by an impressive artist, and a perfect beat-matching runset. So here's a sequenced set of Mo's tunes with a taste of my other favorite Austin artists, Hedda Layne and Brett Low. This is another interval running session. After some warming up and easy running, Mo's fast tune, God Knows, will provide the interval 193 BPM, 90 second speed bursts, alternating with fast walks and slow jogs. A full length, uninterrupted version appears at the end of the show. If you're not in shape for interval workouts, run these segments at a slower pace or shorten your stride. The most important thing is to run safe. Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on this episode's podcast page at jogtunes.com. As always, I welcome your comments. This episode breaks with my short and sweet midmonth format by presenting another classic JTIP 2 segment session. This is 28 minutes of sequenced BPM running followed by a 17 min sprint section. I've got 2 veteran JogTunes artists and 5 new groups. There's great rock and reggae, and loads of awesome electronica. The sprint session maxes out at 182 BPM. If you're not used to beat-matching that tempo, slow your pace or shorten your stride. If you have a pulse monitor, this is a good tim to use it. The main thing is to run safe. Check out the track details, purchase options, and more info on this episode's podcast page at jogtunes.com. As always, I welcome your comments. Meet a most impressive, Toronto born, Miami based singer song/writer, Tristan Clopet, and, from Seattle, the awesome, 6 member rock group, Alabaster. Together they provide great music and a perfect beat-matched, interval workout session. This is a 40 minute session and again I present some fast segments for interval workouts. So watch your pulse monitors and only run the speed bursts if you're comfortable at that speed. You can always shorten your stride or run slower. The key is to run safe. Interval running is not for the faint of heart. Please be sure you're fit for this workout. If you have any doubts you still can enjoy this runset buy taking the intervals at a slower pace and/or by shortening your stride. The short interval segments are from 2 of her tunes and run at 186 and 190. A longer, slower interval is full track and runs at 179. Don't fret. I've included the complete versions of the faster tunes at the end of the show. Interval running is not for the feint of heart. Please be sure you're fit for this workout. To experience and enjoy running and working out exactly to the beat of great indie music, please subscribe to the The JogTunes Indie Podcast or get the MP3. I recently received an email from a listener/runner who enjoyed working out to my first fartlek show (Episode #21). Coincidentally I was planning to do another one and here it is, Fartlek Part II. The rest of the title, "Be Free", refers to the prominence of tunes about freedom in various forms. There's a leaning towards rock and reggae and social commentary as well. This episode also features four tunes by Delmar Brown from New York city along with an impressive array of other artists, all from the IODA's promonet. Please see the episode's show notes for purchase options, artists' websites and promonet pages, and other details. Two tracks, one by Delmar and another by Keno, provide the speed bursts for the interval segments. One's at 180 BPM and the other at 186. Because the segments are 45-60 seconds long, I've included both tracks in their entirety at the end of the show. As always, I welcome your comments. Please send them to comments at jogtunes.com, post them on our JogTunes.com facebook fan page, or send me a tweet. At JogTunes.com, you'll find purchase links to all of the tunes from all of our podcast episodes as well as over 1700 BPM rated workout music from label and indie artists. I played a Megaphone track on my last Christmas show and vowed that I would bring this awesome rock band back for a solo engagement. All of their podsafe tunes are featured on this mid-month episode of the JTP and sequenced for a really fun 30 minute run. It's mostly easy going jogging and running with a long interval run at 172 BPM. If you're not used to that speed, run it for 30 seconds then slow your pace or shorten your stride. If you're comfortable with that pace, enjoy over 3 minutes of flat out running. As always, I welcome your comments. It's a straight 40 min session that peeks in the 170s and stays there for 4 tunes. That's pretty fast running. Phil Putnam, David Homyk, Isaboe, and Lily Sparks sing the tunes. Yamasaki provides the instrumental for the intro and outro. It looks like we're definitely relocating from Utah to Texas. To save myself some time during the move, and to give you all a special treat, I've decided to publish one of the JogTunes Indie special runsets for free. So this episode is that runset. The original title is The JTIP Runset #2 - Far East Peach and it's still available on the JogTunes Store Page free of long voice-overs for $5.00. All of the tracks are from the Tokyo Far East Peach Label. The company's headed by my friend Momo-J, whose works I've been playing since the early days of the show. The episode contains tracks that are both old and new to the JTIP and written and performed by these Far East Peach artists: * Momo-J * Euclid Rhyme * Nasca * Amir Khan & Hideo Inai * Bam Dorner I was excited to learn that Momo-J has a new gig writing the music for the popular Japanese Anime, K-On. When I first heard Louinel Jean's new song, "Power of Love", I immediately started planning this episode. It's a perfect theme for the end of a tumultuous decade as it sets the tone for what I'm sure we all hope will be a smoother 10 years aided by the power of love. All of the tunes are about love, and range in BPMs from walking paces to tempos for all out running. Here's the music video version of Louinel's song, featuring Sushane Holmes: As this is my third anniversary show, I reminisce by bringing back some old tunes as well as introduce some new ones. I found most of the tunes on Music Alley, and for that I'm grateful to Mevio and their fine service to music podcasting.
