Episode 268: In a Free Society | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

There are several areas that we talked about where our freedoms are being changed or challenged. We didn't make it through all of the topics on the list but it was quite the lively discussion! We've added a link to our new Zazzle.com store to the website. Right now there are only two products but we'll be adding more as time goes on. If you have ideas for products please email them to us at conservativepodcast@gmail.com.  Episode 267: But Will It Work? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This week we looked at a few different issues and proposals that are being discussed and asked the question, "but will it work?" It's a very lively discussion on immigration, health care and perceptions. We didn't make it through all the articles per-se so look for some topics to come up again in the future. Our product poll has ended and we're working on getting the pricing worked out on a new store for folks to purchase items from. Look for an updated link in the very near future. Thank you for participating in the poll and thank you for your continued support! Click Here to download the podcast, or listen using the Blubrry player (the blue ball on the right of the page).  Episode 266: Moves Toward Change | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The concept for this episode was to discuss some of the things that were moving forward with the GOP and conservative ideas. We looked at the question, "is it enough?" The answer came back an underwhelming, "maybe."  There's a lot more to talk about but we're somewhat encouraged by Rep. Ryan's concept of, "pick your battles."  The important question is whether or not the Republican leadership will follow through with this. We've gotten some responses from our product poll and are working on designs for coffee cups, mugs, bumper stickers, and other non-clothing type items. Look for a link to our new store to be online starting in February! Click Here to download the podcast, or listen using the Blubrry player (the blue ball on the right of the page).  Episode 265: Looking for the Reasons | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This was a tough episode to put together, as can be seen with the flood of articles in the show notes page. We have our new listener and participant Naj to thank for the subject of tonight's show, trying to at least start a conversation on the reasons behind the violence that doesn't often make national headlines like the sensational stories do. It was an educational and encouraging conversation to say the least! As of this posting, there are 11 days left in our merchandise poll! Please make sure to cast your vote(s) for the items you would be interested in buying to help promote the podcast.  Episode 264: Hot Potato | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We really had a fun time on the podcast!  Playing "Hot Potato" with a few of the subjects outlined in the show notes turned in to a number of meaningful conversations and discussion ideas.  If you have comments, be sure to post them to the site or email them to conservativepodcast@gmail.com. Please be sure to vote in our merchandise poll to identify those things you'd be willing to buy from the podcast.  We're in the home stretch for the poll and I want as much input as possible before investing in the preparation of the products.  Episode 263: Broken Standards | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Well, true to the subject there were lots of "broken" things to discuss.  It was an enjoyable time but also rather eye-opening when it comes to the American standards that seem to be in serious need of repair. Please be sure to vote in our merchandise poll to identify those things you'd be willing to buy from the podcast. Click Here to download the podcast, or listen using the Blubrry player (the blue ball on the right of the page). One thing I failed to mention was our sponsor, Audible.com.  Episode 262: Lemmings or Thelma and Louise? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

It's funny what happens when you plan out an episode like this one.  I wasn't sure what the call-in volume was going to be like and it turned out to be pretty big!  My co-worker Marshall joined us (he's the one that stated that, "know I know how Juan Willaims feels.") as well as just about the entire regular crew!  The show started off somber but when we started the political talk it turned into something else entirely!  Episode 261: Coal for Christmas | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Something of an odd Christmas present, but the show's recorded and ready for download several hours early!  There was a scheduling conflict so Ken and I decided that rather than push the recording off we'd do the show at 2pm today. We talked about the folks that should and should not get a lump of coal for Christmas this year.  I'll be posting a picture of my new voter registration card as well, following up on a promise made a few episodes back.  Episode 260: For the Children | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This was, by and far, one of the most difficult episodes to decide to do.  In the end, I felt that we would be negligent in our duty if we did not.  As I state in the opening of the podcast, we are still coming to grips with the realities of what happened on 12/14/2012.  That said, there are political ramifications of the two "hot button" areas that are being blamed. As heavy as my heart was going in to the recording, my loving son helped me in his own way - our "moment of silence" was interrupted when he decided he needed his daddy for something, and nothing can stop him when that happens.  Episode 259: Bowl of Nuts | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We had an interesting time talking about some of the crazy things going on in the country, a good joke that gets ruined in translation to PG and actually made it through all of the articles this week!  Episode 258: Failures At Home and Abroad | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

In this episode we talked about the failures of both parties and were joined by a new caller, Naj, and gave an excellent example of how people of different political viewpoints can share some ideas and politely disagree on others.  The failures are happening right now from both parties and in some cases nothing has changed. Click Here to download the podcast, or listen using the Blubrry player (the blue ball on the right of the page). This episode officially starts our 6th season!  With it we launch our new website as well.  We're also working to bring back podcast related merchandise.  Keep an eye on the website for more details!  Episode 257: A Season of Change | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

For a late recording show, we had a good turn-out when it came to the audience!  In this episode we did something of a panel with Ken, Shorahmin, Joesf and Toawa adding their thoughts to what happened in the 2012 election.  You'll have to listen to hear their take on just where the GOP took missteps and wrong turns!  We also talked about some of the upcoming "gotcha" items embedded in that lovely little bill we call Obamacare. We actually used articles from the "other links" section of the show notes... I think more than from the main list!  Episode 256: Battle on the Homefront | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Tonight we have the second interview originally scheduled for Veteran's day.  Carl Higbie, author of Battle on the Homefront, joined us for the conversation.  You can buy the book in either electronic or dead tree version at http://www.yourvirtualbookstore.com/battle-on-the-home-front/.  Episode 255: Veterans Day Interview | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This turned out to be part one of two interviews that we had originally planned.  Tim Heald is a former Army LRS Scout, discussed his experience with a politicized Department of Veteran's Affairs.  His blog can be found at Intolerable-Acts.org.  Specifically he is working to correct, "The VA’s abuse of the fiduciary program, and the violation of veterans’ 2nd Amendment Rights under the Constitution of the United States of America."  Episode 254: Prearing For the Future | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

We had a great time talking about the preparations being made to prepare for the possibility of a loss (or potentially win) by Obama.  Several interesting references to Star Wars were made.  We've got some interesting interviews lined up for next week, so keep tuned to the website for more info.  Also, we will be participating in a series of round-table calls on election night.  More information on that to follow tomorrow.
